“Hey, Rio?”

“Yeah?”

“One Direction is having a concert here…. Tomorrow. I have an extra ticket with meet and greet passes. You wanna come?”

I look up from my art project, Take my glasses off and just look at her questionably.
“Look Jen, I’m glad you asked me and all… But why me?”

“Well you’re the one who told everyone you knew them… I just thought you’d like to have a little reunion” she hand gestures some quotation marks when she says reunion.

“First off, I didn’t tell everyone I knew them… I told you when you hung up that stupid poster.” I gesture towards her “Four” poster. “You told everyone. And second I’ll go, on two conditions.”

“Yeah, okay.”

“Don’t sing along to every single song like you do when you play the album here, Alright?"

“What about when they play Change your ticket?”

“Fine. Only because I like that song.”

“Whets the second condition?”

“Don’t scream in mine or their faces at the meet and greet.”

“Whatever. I don’t scream.”

I just roll my eyes, put my glasses back on and return my attention back to my art project. Sadly, I lost contact with Niall and the rest of the boys… I even lost contact with Page… We all talked on Skype a couple of times as a group. I’ve talked to Niall by myself on Skype a few times. We used to text and tweet and all that social media crap. However, I moved to San Diego, got a new phone, and neglected to transfer numbers before factory resetting my old one.
I tried contacting Niall last week on Skype but he just wasn’t there. You know when they say you never forget your first love their right… It hurts like hell knowing you have to let go of the one person you will ever love.

“Knock, knock,” My friend Xenia Jackson says as she enters the room. “Hey Shaw, come with me. I need to talk to you.”

“Um, okay.” I stand up and follow her to her secret spot on the dorm roof. What’s up?” I ask as I let the door shut behind me.

“What are you doin’ tomorrow? I have some tickets to the poetry bash… we can watch Justin make a fool out of himself.”

“Well as fun as that sounds, I’m actually going with Jen to the 1D concert tomorrow.”

“Really? You gonna see Niall?”

I laugh as I nod, out of all of my friends here I think Xenia is the only one who really believes me about meeting the boys. She’s not really a One Direction fan but she knows I have no reason to lie about something like that.

“I have the perfect outfit for you to wear. My roommate left for the summer and left her I LOVE NIALL T. Shirt here. Please wear it… Please please please?”

“Okay fine, but I’m wearing a hoodie over it.”

“Alright, deal. Are you guys going to get your freak on again? I mean after all he did swipe your V- card.”

I can feel my face getting red. “He doesn’t even know I’m here. He probably won’t recognize me. “
“Why wouldn’t he?”

“Well, I have blonde hair now for one. And I wear glasses.”

“You do know you only have to wear glasses when you read or do your school work, right?”
“Yeah. I think I look cute in them though.”

We arrive at the arena a little late due to parking sucks. We ran up to a counter set outside, handed the woman our tickets and went up to a tall security guard to show him our meet and greet passes. He had another man lead us backstage to wait in a small line.

“They are doing the meet and greets individually, since you two are together I’ll go let them know we added just one more to the line.”

“This is so exciting!” Jen Yells in my ear.

“Yeah…” As the line moves up and there is only two groups in front of us now, I can feel a whole cage of butterflies being let loose in my stomach.

“What is up with you? Rio, are you okay.”

What if he has a girlfriend now?

What if he forgot about me?

What if he’s mad at me?

Did I really expect him to wait a whole year?

Maybe I could have tried harder to talk to him.

These are only some of the things going through my mind at this moment. Surprisingly I’m more worried he won’t recognize me. I’m wearing the I LOVE NIALL T-shirt with a Lady Antebellum zip up hoodie (You can clearly see Niall’s fetus picture on the T-shirt.) I’m also wearing jean shorts and blue flip flops with pink flowers on them. My blonde hair is pulled up into a messy ponytail.

“You two are next.” A security guard says, I begin to try to calm my nerves. Wait a second, I know that guard! He’s the one that picked the boys up from my motel the morning Niall got shot.

“You can go now.” He says, pulling me out of my mind and back into reality.

“C’mon!” Jen grabs my arm and nearly pulls me into the room. Once inside she stops so fast I actually bump into her and fall to the ground. Everyone laughs except me.

“Nice to know you think it’s funny boys.” I blurt out without thinking.

“Sorry,” Louis says, helping me up. “I laugh when people fall.”

“Advice for next time, Make sure their okay first…”

“I’ll remember that. Do you have anything for us to sign?”

“Yeah, I have two things actually. My friend Jazzman’s shirt. I stole it so I figured I could get Niall to sigh it.”
“Yeah, Of course.” He comes over and gives me a hug. Oh god he still smells the same.

“Thank you.” I pull away and take off the Lady A hoodie, turning around so he can sigh the back.

"There ya go. What else you got?"

"Well, I have this trading card with all of you on it."

The other boys, who have just finished signing Jen's phone, walk over to sign my card while Niall goes to sign Jen's phone.

When I'm nervous I play with my Goodbyes are not forever necklace. When I go to pull it out it's gone. that's when I really panic.

"Well that was fun girls... Do you want a picture before you leave."

"No! Zayn, I'm not leaving. I can't leave yet!"

"Why? Whats wrong?" Louis asks as he puts his arm around me.

I don't answer right away, Instead I fall to my hands and knees and begin to frantically search the floor.

"Do we need to call someone?" Niall asks as he steps closer to me.

"No!" I pick up his foot so I can see if my necklace is under him. He offers me his hand as he helps me to my feet. I look into his eyes hoping to see some recognition there... I don't. "Please, Niall."

"Please what?"

"Help me find my necklace."

"Yeah, Okay... What does it look like?"

"Okay, It's a gold heart on a gold chain. It has the words Goodbyes Are Not Forever carved on it. Please just help me find it."

His face goes from concern to joy in 3.5 seconds... Does he remember the necklace?

"Rio?" He pulls me into a really tight hug. I'm taken off guard I have no time to react, So I just hug him back.

"What?" Harry, Louis, Zayn, Liam and Jen say in unison

"Hey," I pull away and just stair at him awkwardly. I have tears in my eyes and I can't tell if it's from the joy of him finally holding me in his arms again or because I lost the necklace that has meant so much to me.

"Found It!" Harry yells out of nowhere. He rushes over, tripping over Zayn who was still on the floor. "Here you go." He says. He's laying on his back while holding the necklace above him.

"Thank you." I pull away from Niall, get my necklace from Harry and help him to his feet.

"Any thing for you, R. How you been?"

"Good." I try to put it back on my neck without luck.

"Here, let me help you." Niall says taking it from me and putting it on my neck for me.

"Boys it's time to go."

Niall turns to the guard. "These two are coming with us."

The guard gives him a questionable look but only nods. "Alright, I'll see if I can round up a couple backstage passes.

"Really Niall, we're fine with our seats. We don't have to be backstage."

"Speak for yourself." Jen says as she grabs hold of Liam's arm.

"See, she wants to come, and plus I am never letting you go again." He puts his arm around me and kisses my cheek softly. I feel butterflies just by his touch.

The way I'm feeling right now, you could never tell it's been a year since I've seen him last. I feel Like it was just yesterday... I could get used to this feeling.
