Just say yes!

Harry's POV

The thought of her was killing me slowly. Past week I wasn't myself, because she wasn't next to me. I hated myself, because I cared so much about a person, who I knew for three months. This time was enough for me to attach myself to her. Emma was in my thoughts every night and morning.
My phone was ringing, but I didn't want to talk with anyone. The person, who was looking for me, was quite insistent.
'What?'- I replied huskily.
'Harry, is that you?'- A familiar female voice was on the other side, but I couldn't remember her name.
'Yes, who is this?'
'I'm Bella, Emma's bestie.'- When I heard her name, I bristled. -'Emma doesn't know that I'm calling you, but I want to see you today. We need to talk about something.'
'Okay, no problem. Meet me in the little garden behind your university in an hour.'
I got out of bed and quickly put on clean clothes. I knew it wasn't the end, so Bella was my connection with Emma now.

She was sitting on a bench with a hat on her head. I knew it was her because she looked very suspicious. I sat slowly next to Bella, expecting to start talking.
'Whoa, you don't look good.'
'How should I look after this?'
'I'm glad you came...'
'Bella, I have to thank you for calling me.'
'I'll tell you everything, but I want you to promise me not to tell Emma this. I just know how it is difficult...'
I took a deep breath, ready to hear the truth, and nodded.
'Emma's brother- Jace doesn't like you because he thinks you will hurt her. She can't see you because that's his only rule. The boy, you got into a fight with, is Matthew. He is a chief of Jace and saw you in the club. He offered Emma to kiss him on the cheek- to keep his mouth shut. Later, he kissed her on the lips. And that's all, Matthew is so cruel. Emma is devastated, Harry. She looked horrible after the incident, cried all night and can't stop thinking about you.'
'She told me to leave her alone.'
'Emma likes you and it hurts so much that she isn't herself.'
After Bella's words, all became clearer. I was sure that Emma didn't give up so easily on everything, but the only obstacle was her brother. What could I do?
'Thank you!'
I coulnd't say anything else because Bella supported our relationship and knew how we were feeling.
'Just don't hurt her. I know she lied, but it's for a reason. I saw how you look at her and your your feelings are so sincere, I'm glad she found someone like you.'
'I won't hurt her. Is she at the university now?'
'Yes, but I think you shoudn't ...'
'Just tell me, please.'
'She's having lunch in the cafeteria.'
I didn't wait to hear what she wanted to tell me because I had to see Emma. I started to run, I didn't know the direction, just followed the other students. Finally I saw a sign "Cafeteria" and took a deep breath before entering. I looked around, there were so many people staring at me. Finally, I noticed that Emma was standing alone at a table in the back of the cafeteria. I ran to her and she looked at me startled.
'Why are you here?'-She tried to push me away again, but I already knew the truth. I knew she cared about me.
'We need to talk, Emma.'
'I don't want, I told you already.' - She stood up and tried to run away from me, but I picked her up and threw her over my shoulder, going out of the cafeteria.
Emma was hitting my back with her tiny fists, but I didn't let her. We went out in the garden, so we could be alone there.
'Don't you understand that it's over?'
These words were painful, but I stayed calm.
'I want Ares.'
'What?'
'As far as I remember we bought the dog together, it's my turn.'
I couldn't think of anything else but that. I had to see her one more time to convince myself that she likes me. I had a plan that I had to fulfill.
'You're terrible.'
'I'm terrible because I want to see my dog?'
'Well, tonight at nine o'clock in the park.'
I watched her leave, but I smiled, knowing I would see her again. I was prepared to wait as it takes to be with her.

Emma was late but I hoped that she's on her way. I heard barking and looked around. She walked slowly down the alley and looked visibly worried.
'Hello, big man.'
Ares ran to me and I hugged him hard because I missed him a lot.
'You need to take him to the vet in two days, here's the leash.'- Emma handed me the leash and a toy that was savaged by Ares.-'I must go now.'
Emma leaned over to kiss Ares, and turned to leave. I watched her go, but my legs were numb. I couldn't move because I was afraid. I was afraid to do this step. I looked down and met the eyes of Ares, which were saying to me: "Go!". Without thinking I ran to Emma, took her hand and pressed my body against hers. I lifted her chin, looking straight into those beautiful eyes, and slowly put my lips to hers.
'Harry, it's ov...'
She closed her eyes, grabbing my neck, and kissed me.
'I can't accept this and will wait as it takes. Just know that I'm here, next to you.'
Emma moved away and walked back home without saying anything, but I knew ... I knew she felt something. She liked me! And suddenly all made sense.
