Writing advice #1
In any tense you write in, you have to CONTINUE writing in. I've noticed that a lot of people write in the present tense but twice in a chapter you'll see a few lines in the past tense or visa versa. It's alright if you write in the present tense but write everything in the past tense because the character is basically thinking back to old events, but keep in mind that whenever you write you have to know what tense you write in.
That's a mistake that a lot of people seem to make.
Example;
"I walked to my closet and took out my favorite pair of leggings before stripping down my shorts to put my leggings on. "Lauren, we leave in 5 minutes, are you ready?" My mother calls from outside my door. I sigh and make my way out of my bedroom. "Yes mum," I nodded at her after closing my door behind me."
Notice how the present and past tense is mixed up?

I was wondering if you could please do a review on my Fanfiction The Night It All Went Down?
There's a few mistakes, I know, as I write it on my iPad and sometimes it autocorrects or I hit a wrong letter- when I edit it, since I'm not the most observant person in the world, they don't always get picked up!
