Life, Cars and Zayn Malik... Wait What?!

Chapter 7: To the movie drawers!

Zayn’s POV
“Time to get up sleeping beauty.” I heard Louis say to me while opening my curtains.
“Go away Louis.” I instructed, pulling the sheets over my head to keep the light away.
“Interview in just under two hours, get your arse out of bed.” He told me. Argh, I do not take that long to get ready… do I? Oh well, I probably should get up. “LIAM! CAN I HAVE SOME HELP HERE?!” Louis’ probably trying to wake Niall up. Give it a few minutes, they’ll probably tip a bucket of water on his head. I don't think Codie would be happy about that though…
“WHAT THE FREAKING HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING!” I heard Niall shout. At that, I did get out of bed and slowly made my way to the room. I heard laughter from Niall’s room. I got to the door.
“What’s going on?” I asked. But then I looked at the scene and didn’t need an answer. Niall was sitting on his bed, his blonde hair dripping wet. My suspicions were right, they had topped a bucket of water on his head. I just started laughing, and it became out of control. Codie walked in next. After we all stopped, Louis was looking around the room.
“Guys, where’s Harry?” he asked, not seeing him. I didn’t either. You would think with that noise that he would have woken up by now. We looked all over the bottom floor, and he wasn’t anywhere to be seen. When we went upstairs, we found his door was closed. We all huddled around the door. Codie managed to shove her way to the front, in her dress. Wait, why was she wearing a dress? Louis opened the door slowly before he turned on the light.
“HARRY!” He screamed as I found him in bed, shirtless (maybe more, didn’t really want to know), next to a girl.
“AMELIE?!” Codie yelled, kind of a question and statement.
“Holy shit” Harry said as he pulled the sheets over his head.
“Oh my god, just shut the f*cking door already!” Amelie shouted as she pulled the sheets over her head as well. We shut the door and looked at each other.
“Were they both naked?” I asked, not really wanting to know the answer.
“I really don’t know, but I think so, yeah.” Codie said slowly. Okay gross images in head, oh Jesus.
“Right… you look beautiful Codie.” Louis said, changing the subject, as we walked down the stairs.
“Thank you Louis.” She said as we all sat down in the couch, all a bit dazed by what we just saw. She was wearing a strapless dress which was black and skin tight until her hips, then turned into an electric blue, puffy skirt that came to just above her knees. Her shoes were a pair of heels that matched her dress and her hair was up in a high ponytail. She only wore a Pandora bracelet with a few beads and mascara.
“How did Amelie get into the house, without anyone else knowing?” Codie said, she wanted to know how she got past Codie’s defences, not that she has any… that I know of…
“Why did you wear a dress?” Louis asked, I think he was kind of mesmerised by her.
“You told me to wear something nice, so I did. Probably the only one I own, that I like… kind of. I prefer this one over the others. By the way, I’m using your jacket when we’re outside, and when I’m cold in general.” She answered. Her look that she was giving him was saying ‘you are so going to pay for this’.
“Not like I’m going to wear it much anyway.” At those words Harry and Amelie came down from his room. We went to the car in an awkward silence. I was sitting next to Harry, who was also sitting next to Amelie in the middle row. Codie and Louis were in the very back while Liam was driving and Niall was shotgun. We reached where the van was way too quickly.
I could hear Louis telling Codie what was going to happen when we got out of the black van. I could tell Codie was freaking out on the inside. Amelie and Harry went out first, and then Codie and Lou. The rest of us followed, I made sure I was behind Codie so I could try and fend off hands that would tear out her hair. I fended off some of them, but there were so many coming out at the same time that I missed some of them. I could tell because when we got inside, her eyes were watering and she was sub-consciously rubbing the back of her head. Anyway, we had been sitting here for a while now.
Here comes Louis’ question. “So, Louis, have you moved on from Eleanor?” the interviewer asked.
“Yeah, I have.” He answered.
“Who is the lucky girl?” the lady asked.
“You don’t know her?” he said, cocking his head to the side. Smirk on, eyes glinting. “Because you should.” He finished.
“What’s her name?” She queried.
“Codie, Codie Badress.” Lou answered.
“Is she in the audience today?” now that is a good question.
“Yes, she is. Right there.” He said while he pointed to her.
“So, Codie. You’re the new V8’s racer, right?” She asked the obvious, again.
“Yeah, I am.” Codie answered, keeping calm. I was taking a guess that she was nervous on the inside.
“Hey, why doesn’t she come up here with us?” I tried to keep myself from laughing, did Louis just come up with that idea?
“Lou, there’s not enough room on the couch for me.” Codie said as an excuse.
“You can sit on my lap.” Louis argues, patting his knees.
“Louis…” I think Codie was running out of things to say.
“Please Codie?” no one knew what she would do, and everyone was staring straight at her… including me.
“Okay Louis, I will.” She gave in, walking to sit on the arm of the chair and Lou. He was probably going to pay for that.
“So, Codie, what was your first race like?” I could tell she would be getting annoyed by now.
“Um, well, it was fast, smelt of petrol and wasn’t my best.” I could tell Codes wasn’t trying to make everyone laugh, she was being serious.
“Why wasn’t it your best? It was your first race and you came tenth out of twenty-one, how does that make sense?” I could see Codie rolling her eyes at the interviewer.
“I could have won, but I missed crucial cut-offs and didn’t turn the corners very well.” She explained.
“You were still amazing.” Louis said, kissing her cheek. I could hear the audience ‘aww’ like what the hell?
“No I wasn’t, I was terrible. This was before we were going out anyway, you ninny.” She poked his shoulder as she said it.
“How long have you been going out for?” that is an excellent question.
“Do you count my birthday party Lou?” Codie asked, making him talk.
“Six days.” Louis answered. Wow, had it only been six days. A week?
“How did you meet?” Now this is where it gets interesting.
“We’re staying at the same place. My rooms right next to them.” they came up with the story.
“Is there any back story? The story of how you got together?” The interviewer asked.
“Well, when I first saw her, I knew. I knew we were together, from the very first moment I saw her.” That was a bit repetitive.
“Actually, I hated One Direction. So when I found out I was right next to them, I kind of wanted to run downstairs to the reception and change rooms. Then I couldn’t, so I stayed, glad I did. He wouldn’t stop pestering me, asking me out. When I realised that my birthday party only happened because of him, I finally gave in and gave him a chance. If he would do that for me, I should go on one date with him, right?” Codie was trying to make them laugh now.
“So, would you like to show us a kiss?”
“Yeah okay.” Louis agreed, Codie had given him a pure look of horror. I could tell on the inside that she was shouting at him. She gave in, and Louis grabbed the hood from behind her head, shielding them from being visible to the cameras.
“Moving on, when’s your next race Codie?” The interviewer asked.
“Actually, it’s this weekend, at the Gold Coast.” She answered. The interview continued for ages, and we finally left. Getting back home was interesting, we had dropped Amelie off at her house, and Codie was sick of sitting in the passenger seat. She drove the car on the way back. We all got inside and changed to our trackies and jumpers.
“So what do we do now?” I asked everyone.
“That is an excellent question Zen.” Louis answered.
“To the movie drawers!” Codie said, making a superman pose and jumping off of the couch.
“Okay. What movie should we watch this time?” I asked next.
“Nightmare on Elm Street 3.” She answered, getting out the hard-drive and connecting it to the TV. She searched for it, and found it quickly, pressing play.
“Does Codie want a cuddle-buddy?” Liam mocked, knowing her only fear is Paranormal Activity.
“Does Codie need a cuddle-buddy?” she responded in third person.
“Yes.” Louis answered, grabbing her and giving her kisses all over her face.
“Could you guys keep the intimacy level down please?” I asked nicely.
“Yeah Lou, keep the level down.” Codie mocked him. Louis just smiled and pulled her closer to him.
“I do whatever the hell I want.” He said, poking his tongue out at me.
Jamie’s POV (On Friday)
“This is the life.” Codie announced randomly. We were sitting outside in the sun, in our bikinis.
“Tell me about it.” I agreed with her.
“Doesn’t get better than this.” Elysse stated the obvious.
“Guys, where’s Clarisse?” Amelie said jumping to sit up right.
“You had to ruin the moment didn’t you?” I asked harshly.
“Well, I haven’t seen her since this morning.” Amelie added on the end, thinking it was better for her to have a reason.
“How is that a bad thing? And anyway, it’s only two in the afternoon on Friday. She’s probably been talking to Liam the whole time, they’ve been separated for a few hours, the world is going to end.” Codie said sarcastically.
“Alright then.” Amelie gave in, putting her sunglasses back on.
“May I help you ladies?” A waiter asks.
“Yes you can.” Codie responded. My eyes found the waiter, and they weren’t leaving his eyes. Holy shit balls this man was handsome. Not hot or cute, but handsome. “One, don’t call me a lady, I don’t like it, it’s too formal. Call me Codie. Two, could you get me a strawberry martini?” I spaced out from there, completely hypnotised by the colour of his eyes. They were like an aqua, and they were damn beautiful
“What are you doing?” I shouted at Codie who had been violently shaking my shoulders.
“Waking you from your drooling and gawking at the waiter.” She said, shaking her head.
“Well- Wait- I was- Shit! He’s just so hot.” I rambled on, running my hand through my hair.
“Yeah, I know. Look, he’s coming back right now, so, either talk to him, or not order anything.” Codie told me.
“Hi.” I greeted him as he walked to my chair.
“What can I get you today?” I slipped my sunglasses off in the most seductive way possible, which probably made me look like a flailing fish.
“Depends on what you have.” I said. Then I told him what I actually wanted. “Well, I would like a martini, but you could surprise me. Give me what you think would be the best drink.”
“One hotel exclusive, and hour or two of my time tonight. Pick you up at six?” Score, I knew with my perfect seducing skills I would get him.
“Room 52, I’ll be ready.” I agreed.
“There’s my Jamie. My little girls growing up.” Codie said, sniffling and wiping away a figurative tear.
“Well, as the oldest of the group that kinda makes sense. You old fart.” I shot back. I heard Codie’s phone go off.
“Hello love.” Codie says as she picks up the phone. Obviously she was talking to Louis. “I’ve been gone for eight hours Louis.” This is weird, only hearing one half of the conversation. “It’s like, 27 degrees, I’m in my bikini getting a tan, I’m right next to the pool and getting prepped for tomorrow. Life is good, would be better if you were here though, pity you have concerts every single night this weekend. Don’t break another wrist or I’m gonna have to kill you. Put you out of your misery, and everyone else’s.” there was another pause where Louis would be responding.
“Time trials are tomorrow, about midday, the race is on Sunday same time as the last one… roughly. I don’t know the exact times, but check the T.V. guide on the plasma.” She rolled her eyes. “Liam knows. He’ll tell you. Did you actually have anything you needed to talk to me about or…” then her voice turned sarcastic. “Nah Lou, I’m going to lose again, I’m aiming for fourth, then I’m going to win next race.” Another pause. “You’ll find out on Sunday Louis.”
“My six, or your six?” she asked. “Alright, talk to you then babe.” I agreed. “Love you too babe, bye.”
“Romeo, oh, Romeo, please don’t hang up, I love you Romeo.” I acted, putting a hand to my heart. She picked me up with too much ease and threw the into the pool.
“Juliet, oh, Juliet, shall I pick you up at six tonight?” she acted back.
“Not if I have anything to do with it.” I sat on the edge of the pool and pulled Codie in. “Oh, Romeo, why would I want to have you take me to dinner?” I added on the end.
“Oh, Juliet, why are you such an ass?” she said seriously.
“I only learn from the best Romeo.” I responded, jumping back into the water. Apparently I was a little too close.
“That-” she flicked her hair off of her face. “-could have killed me.”
“I highly doubt that one.” I stated. Then the other girls jumped in the pool when we started a water fight. They were all helping me get Codie, and she was a little confused.
“Who’s side are you on?” she shouted at us.
“Jamie’s!” they all shouted, I laughed as I saw the waiter come back with our drinks. He gave us a weird look and Codie responded for us all.
“You took too long and we got bored.” She explained, before we all dog-piled on top of her, shoving her underwater. We all let her come back up for air and we got out and had our drinks. The waiter stayed for a little too long, staring at my cleavage.
“Excuse me.” I said, covering up.
“Excused.” He said with some fake attitude, walking away.
***
“How was it?” Codie asked me when I came back from my date. It was ten, and it had lasted for ages. We had decided to not get together, since I live in Adelaide and it would be too hard.
“It was amazing.” I said while spinning around.
“And it went for four hours, instead of one or two. Now, what’s his name?” she asked.
“James.” I said maybe a little to dreamily.
“Of course it is.” She responded in a negative tone.
“What’s wrong with that?” I asked.
“That’s the name of the guy who assaulted me.” She responded, pouting out her bottom lip and pretending that she was going to cry.
“Oh my gosh Codie, I suppose I'm just gonna have to dump him then.” I said sarcastically.
“I know right.” She also said with sarcasm.
“We should go to bed, big day tomorrow. Time trials, you’re gonna have to kick arse.” I instructed.
“Gonna have to? I’m going to. There is no doubt about it Booker.” She responded, jumping up and walking to her room.
“I know you will honey, just checking that the Tinkerbelle I knew was still in there.” She squinted at me with a confused expression.
“Why would she ever leave?” she asked, not letting me respond as she walked into her room and closed the door. The next day went well, with Codie scoring second position on the starting grid easily. We watched her laps from then and figured out how to improve her racing. We decided to use our ‘Skittles’ technique, which kind of worked, gaining us second place in the last race.
