What Happened To Lindsey Waters?

As the hype begins for the 2016 Olympics everyone is still asking themselves what happened to Lindsey Waters. The then 17 year old swimming star walked off the pool deck before her first final in what was looking to be for her a very successful Olympic games. Lindsey was expected to sweep the Olympic competing in 6 separate events ranging from the 100 free to the 200 IM. The star's success from an early age had earned her the endearing nickname Splash Zone. As her coach said in several interviews, "Lindsey stays as we call it a splash zone ahead of all her competitors."
It has been 2 years since Lindsey left the pool deck and the public scene. The star never released a statement as to why she left leaving us with several unanswered questions.
Why did she give up everything she worked so hard for? Where is the Lindsey Sterling today?
