Splash Zone

Hey guys so I'm in the middle of pre-writing this :) (I should have the first chapter up tomorrow maybe?) but I figured I'd give you guys a preview to get a feel for the story.

"Why?" He asked peering at me over the back of the couch.
"Why what?" I asked pausing on my way down the hallway my clipboard in my hand.
"You know." He said, and I did know he was asking. He was asking the question everyone always asks me.
"I don't know what you are talking about." I answered concentrating on my clipboard and walking away hoping he wouldn't pry.
"Yes you do why did you give everything up." He called after me persisting.
"I didn't give everything up." I said stopping and turning back towards him.
I saw confusion on his face as he looked at me. He got off the couch and walked slowly towards me.
"You gave up everything you worked for. You gave up the fame, the opportunities....."
I raised my hands interrupting him.
"I gave up a life where all my time was spent training. I gave up not being able to hang out with my friends or family. I gave up not being able to stay up late because I had to get enough sleep. I gave up not being allowed to cry into chocolate or ice cream because the sugar would mess up my nutritional balance. I wouldn't say I gave up everything."
Zayn looked at me thoughtfully.
"So you left the final at the Olympic because you wanted to be normal." He said slowly trying to get his head around the idea.
I shook my head telling him that wasn't it.
"Then why?" He persisted.
I rolled my eyes to the top of my head giving him an annoyed face.
"Wouldn't you like to know." I answered guardedly before walking off down the hallway ignoring Zayn's voice yelling my name behind me.
