Starting Over

Ch. 29 It All Comes Down to This

***Several Months Later***
Samy's POV

"Why am I nervous? I'm already married! This is a fake wedding, pretend, just for show," I explain exasperatedly.

“Everyone is nervous on their wedding day,” Ashly reassures me. “Even if they’re already married,” she cuts me off before I can speak the words on my mind.

“Absolutely,” Steph agrees as El nods, wrapping her arm around my shoulder.

“Everything is going to be perfect,” El comforts. Ashly, Stephanie, and Eleanor are my bridesmaids, along with Liam’s sisters. Of course, Liam has the 4 other boys as his groomsmen and even included Raven as a groomsman as well.

In just under 30 minutes, I’ll be walking down the aisle to become Mrs. Liam Payne, again. We had all gotten back from tour about a month ago and Liam and I had immediately begun planning this ceremony/party. It had come together pretty quickly actually. I already had my dress and everyone already had their suits and dresses which made it a lot easier. The venue was easy to nail down and it’s the most gorgeous outside garden that I could ever imagine. My mom insisted on handling the cake and Liam’s mom insisted on working with my friends on the flowers. Purple and white are our colors. Lilac purple. It’s perfect. I couldn’t imagine anything better than this.

“You ready, kiddo?” my dad asks as he wraps my arm through his.

“Beyond ready,” I reply, suddenly becoming very calm. The doors leading to the
garden open and the bridesmaids step out one by one. Soon, it’s my turn. The doors open one final time as my dad and I take our first steps outside and towards my husband. I take a deep breath and look up. I spot Liam immediately, waiting for me at the end of the aisle. Our eyes lock and I see the emotion building up inside him, as tears form in my eyes. Yes, we’re already married, but this is the wedding that’s most important to us. The one we get to have with everyone we love.
My dad and I reach the end of the aisle and my hand is given to Liam, as is tradition. He takes it and gives it a quick kiss before gripping it tightly and turning to face the non-denominational officient we’d chosen.

“Family and friends, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Samantha Lyn Gheri to Liam James Payne. If anyone knows of any just cause for why these two should not be united by this group and god, speak now or forever hold your peace,” the minister states. After a few moments’ pause, he continues. “Seeing no just cause, I know ask the couple to recite their vows, which they have written themselves. Liam, please take Samantha’s left hand, place this ring on it, and state your vows of commitment to her at this time.”

“Samantha… Samy,” Liam hesitates, “standing here with you, in front of everyone, I’ve never felt such pride. Knowing that in just a few shorts minutes, you will be further connected to me spiritually and lovingly makes me the happiest man in the world. From the day that I met you, and even before, I knew that you were meant to be in my life in some way. I didn’t know which way but I knew that we were destined to somehow remain connected forever. Having you as my wife is better than anything I could ever have dreamed of and I promise to spend every moment of my life showing you just how grateful I am that you chose me. I promise to support your dreams the way that you’ve supported mine. I promise to love you, trust you, be loyal to you, and show you what amazing things that life can bring. You are my world and I promise to help give the world to you from this day on,” he wraps up his vows by looking me deep in my eyes and mouthing ‘I love you.’

“Samantha, please take Liam’s left hand, place this ring on it, and state your vows of commitment to him at this time,” the minister continues.

“Liam, I’m not sure how this crazy path that’s been my life has led me to you, but I will never be able to explain how grateful and blessed that I am that it did. The last few years have been some of the best and worst in my life. I could not have gotten through them without you. You have been my rock, my pillar, my best friend, my world since day one. I couldn’t ask for me. I promise to always protect you the way that you protect me. I promise to help you and support you however I can. I promise to show you the same strength that you’ve shown me. I love you now and I promise to continue to love you all the days of my life,” I state, eyes locked on his.

“Guests, Liam and Samantha have both stated their vows to each other and as witnesses to these vows you have committed yourselves to their journey and further commit to help them maintain their promises to each other. If you agree to continue on this journey of life and love with them, please state “we do”.

“We do!” the crowd of guests announces proudly.

“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce in front of god, friends, and family that you are officially Mr. and Mrs. Liam Payne. Liam, you may kiss your bride,” the minister finishes at the exact moment that Liam’s mouth is on mine. I give him a gentle push on the arm to remind him that we are in front of a lot of family and friends. He gets the hint and ends the kiss.

After taking off down the aisle, hand in hand, we spend the next few hours celebrating with our guests. Liam takes turns dancing with his mom, my mom, and all the bridesmaids while I dance with my dad, his dad, and the groomsmen. Our first dance was very special to us and the song that was played will forever remind me of today; the day we got our happily ever after.

THE END

@electrichearts

I honestly didn't know what else to write and I needed a co-owner. I still stand by the ending but I think there could have been a lot more to the story if I had had help.

I just spent the last hour and a half reading through all this! You had me hooked. I can't believe it's over :(
