Just a Kiss

After a long day shopping at the mall, I head home. My car is filled with bags from various shops such as Charlotte Russe, Wet Seal, And Delia’s. Okay, I also bought some chocolate from See’s, but I mean, who doesn’t like chocolate. As I pull into the driveway I see Mom still isn’t home and I check the time. Its 6:00, I guess she had a dinner meeting. I walk into my house, my arms full of my bags, and set them down on the kitchen table. I check the answering machine and see that there is one message, probably from Mom. I press the button playing it and sit down at the desk to listen to it.
“Hey Leighton, its Mom. I assume you are out with Addison, which is fine. I’m just calling to say I have a dinner meeting and I should be home around 8. You can make yourself some dinner or you can order something. You can use my card that’s in the desk. Love you. See you when I get home.”
So I was right she does have a dinner meeting. I decide to order some Chinese food, yum. I grab the phone and quickly dial the number and tell the woman on the other line my order and give her the adequate credit card information to pay for the order. As I wait for my food to be delivered I change into some sweat pants and a tank top. Then I put on one of my favorite movies of all time: Clueless. After about 20 minutes into the movie my food arrives. I answer the door and sign for the food, taking it back to the couch with me. I finish the movie, and the food. I check the time on my phone, 7:45. Mom should be home soon. I get up off the couch and throw away my Chinese food containers. I decide to get on tumblr while I wait for my mom to get home. I scroll through my dash occasionally reblogging and liking posts or following new blogs. All of a sudden I scrolled onto a gif of Niall dancing on stage. Ugh!! Why does he have to be so adorable!? I hear the door open and I turn my head to see who it is even though I know it is going to be Mom. When I see her walk in I greet her while shutting my laptop.
“Hey Mom! How was your dinner meeting?”
“It was good. Did you have a fun time with Addison today? I assume you guys went shopping by all these bags.”
“We did go shopping. I had a lot of fun. I bought you a chocolate from See’s, I’ll get it for you”
I get up from the couch and head over to the kitchen table to find the See’s bag. I pull it out of the pile and hand Mom the treat I bought her.
“Thanks honey!”
“No problem Mom.” I reply with a smile.
“Well, I’m going to head to bed. I have an early start tomorrow.” Mom says as she starts heading for the stairs.
“That sounds like a good idea. I’m pooped from shopping.” I say laughing.
“Ok, well goodnight honey.” She says with a honey walking to her room.
“Goodnight Mom.” I say starting up the stairs myself.

I wake and turn to check the time on my alarm clock. It reads 8 am. I sit up and stretch yawning loudly. I stand up and look out my window. It is a beautiful day outside. Seeing that I decide to get dressed and go to the local park to enjoy the wonderful weather. I quickly take a shower, get dressed into a tank top and shorts, and do my hair and makeup. As I leave my house, I leave a note on the kitchen counter incase Kara or my Mom get home before I do. I climb into my car and drive to the park.When I pull into the parking lot it is packed! I’m never going to be able to find a spot. I drive through the lot, my eyes glancing around for an empty space. Suddenly, I see a car pulling out of their spot. I stop and wait for them to leave, and pull into the spot. I get out of the car, locking it with my keys, and toss my keys into my small bag. I begin to walk the path through the park soaking up the sun. A soft breeze is blowing, just enough to keep you cool in the heat. It’s the perfect weather. I find a park bench to sit on for a while just to take in the nature around me. Out of the blue, a soccer ball comes rolling quickly towards me. It seems to have come from a group of boys who seem to be either my age or slightly older and are across the field from me. I bend over and pick up the soccer ball as one of them starts to jog my way to retrieve the ball. As he nears me I study his features and I realize how familiar they are. My heart starts to pound. I’ve seen him a million times. In pictures and videos on the internet. On the tv. In my dreams. Calm down Leighton. Don’t freak out. Smile and hand him the ball and see where it goes. All of a sudden a familiar, thick Irish accent fills my ears.
“Sorry about that. Mi mate likes to make me chase after the ball.”
“It’s fine. Um, here’s your ball” I say laughing as I hand it to him. Omg! How am I so calm? I’m freaking out on the inside.
“Thanks.” he says smiling at me. “What’s your name?”
“Leighton”
“Very pretty. Mi name is Niall”
Yeah I know, my room is covered with your face. “Nice to meet you Niall.” I say smiling back at him.
“So do you live around here?” He questions.
“I do” I answer, biting my lip. Gosh I’m nervous right now.
“You should show me around. I don’t know the area that well and I’m going to be here for a while.”
“I’d love to!” I reply excitedly. I hope not too excitedly.
“Awesome! Let me get your number or let me give you mine so I can text you about meeting up.”
As Niall started pulling out his phone, wolf whistles begin being made behind him we both looked and that’s when I realized he was with Harry, Louis, Liam, Zayn, and Josh. He turned back around laughing. Oh, he is so cute when he does that. Especially in person. I almost sigh.
“Here” he says handing me his phone. “Put your info in.”
I take the phone from his hand and our fingers brush. I am never washing this hand again. Just kidding but, omg is this real life. I begin to type my name and number into his phone. When I’m done I hand it to him and right away he texts me so I will have his number.
“Well I best get back to the lads. Text me. I’ll see you around Leighton.” He says and begins to make his way back over to the other boys who all practically tackle him as soon as he get over to them. I laugh and pull out my phone and see a ton of texts from Addison and one text from a number I don’t recognize. Niall. Omg Addison I need to tell her I walk back to my car and check my texts from her before calling her.
Addison: Hey girl! I had a lot of fun yesterday! We need to have a sleepover soon!
Addison: Have you gotten on Instagram today? Niall posted a selfie with Liam! Omg our baes!
Addison: Omg! Just found out! They are in town!!!!!!!!!
Addison: Can you hear me screaming?!
Addison: We need to hang today because of this.
I quickly dial her number and she picks up halfway through the second ring.
“Omg!! She’s alive!” she jokes
“Ha ha. The only reason I wasn’t texting you was because I met someone.” I say with a huge smile on my face.
“Omg is he cute?” She questions.
“Cute, sexy, handsome. Girl he is the man of my dreams.” I say my smile growing bigger.
“What’s his name?”
“Niall Horan.” I practically scream into the phone.
“Omg! Are you fucking serious right now? Because if you aren’t I will kill you!”
“I’m 100% serious!” I reply freaking out.
I hold the phone away from my ear as Addison screams her heads off.
“Guess what else though.” I say calming down some.
“What!”
“I got his phone number.”
Once again, I am holding the phone away from my ear.
