Give me love like this

“Where did you find that girl?” Ruth asks me with a huge grin as we walk back to our complex.

“I ran into her yesterday in the lobby after you all had left, and then this morning I couldn't sleep so I went to the gym and she was there. We just started talking and I asked her to eat breakfast with me.” I explained.

“Well I like her. She's hilarious! And her family? They were all fantastic. We must hang out with them this week.” She explains as she skips along.

“Well, were mini golfing with her parents in about ten minutes, just changing my shoes, these are already uncomfortable.” My mum explains.

“You are? You four going to be best friends this week?” I tease.

“Maybe, I like Anna, she's feisty, keeps me on my toes, different then our friends in Wolverhampton.” Mom says as she looks back at me.

“Well what is everyone going to do today until we go snorkeling?” I ask, hoping to hang out with my sisters a little bit.

“Well mum and dad are mini golfing. And I'm planning on taking a nap.” Nicola states as we walk up the stairs to our floor.

“Really? Were on holiday!” I try to convince her to do something. “Ruth?” I ask hopeful that she'll want to do something.

“Sorry Liam, I'm going to take a nap too, we haven't quite adjusted to the time change. Were not used to constantly switching time zones like you are. But we'll be ready to go snorkeling.” Ruth explains as she slides the key to her room. She mouths a sorry as her and Nicola walk into their room.

Well, alone for a few hours. I sit on my bed and wonder what I'm going to do. Screw it, I grab my laptop and some of my notes that I've written lyrics on and head to the beach. I find a quiet spot, even though it's only 9 in the morning, not a lot of people are out and about yet. I pull my chair under a giant umbrella and fire up my laptop.

After I log into Skype, see no one is really online so I start typing up my lyrics and responding to some e-mails when I notice that Niall is trying to call me.

“Hey Ni! What's up?” I ask, excited to see a familiar face.

“Not a lot, its raining here in London, of course. How's Aruba? You outside? Let me see!”

“Yeah, its fantastic here. I'm having a hard time putting my work away though, I'm always getting snippets of songs in my head. I feel like a waitress. I walk around with post it notes and pens in my pockets to make sure I don't forget anything.” I explain as I lean back and stretch out.

“Well, you gotta do what you can. Anything exciting happen so far?” Niall asks as he eats a handful of popcorn.

“Not really, we just got here yesterday. Were going out snorkeling this afternoon. I did meet someone though.” I say, almost a little bashful.

“You met someone? She fit? Where's she from? You hook up yet?” Niall gets a little excited easily.

“Slow down mate. Her name is Codi, I literally ran into her in the lobby yesterday, then the gym this morning. Then we had breakfast together, our families met this morning as well, my parents are becoming best friends with her parents. Kind of weird. She has a younger sister named Maggie. No, we haven't hooked up yet, I don't think she's like that, nor am I. She's from Minneapolis. And yes, shes fucking fit as hell.” I try to answer all of his questions.

“Well where is she? Why isn't she with you?” Full of questions today apparently.

“I don't know, her and her sister went back to her room, were all meeting at 11:30 for lunch and then off to snorkeling.” She never told me what she was doing, her and her sister left before everyone else did, skipping away arm and arm. I hadn't gotten the chance to ask her what her room number was or her phone number.

“Well, make the most of the week. Send me those lyrics you've been writing, I want to see what you got. See if I can do anything with them” He says loudly.

I look out the corner of my eye and see Maggie and Codi walking towards the beach. Damn, both in swim suits but Codi is just beautiful. She's wearing a bright blue bikini, her hair swaying in the light breeze. Maggie has a yellow suit on, she looks good, but Codi just looks amazing.

“Earth to Liam!” I snap back to Niall.

“Sorry, I just saw Codi and Maggie coming down to the beach.” I explain.

“Well, are you going to hang up on me and go talk to them?” He asks.

“No, I think they're coming this way. Ah, act busy, act like I haven't said anything about her to you.” I plead.

“All good mate. I won't say a thing.” Niall responds, I think he actually just spit popcorn kernels out of his mouth.

“Hey Liam!” Codi says with a giant smile, her bright white teeth are perfect.

“Oh hey Codi, I didn't hear you come up, what are you doing?” I try to act like I didn't know she was coming, hoping she doesn't read to into everything.

“Maggie and I are going skim boarding, you want to join?” She raises her eyebrows at me and gives me a sideways glance.

“Um, sure, just let me finish up things.” I save some more lyrics on my word document and send them to Niall.

“Oy! Who are you talking to?” I never hung up with Niall, I knew he'd want to meet her, or at least see if I was telling the truth.

“Um just a friend, I met her today at the gym here, her name is Codi.” I try to explain to Niall without making it seem like I've already told him who she was.

“Well let me see her!” Typical Niall, again excited at the drop of a hat.

“Codi, come sit by me, Niall want's to meet you.” She seems hesitant but I want to know Niall's opinion of her. He is one of my best mates. I move over and pat the chair for her to sit.

“Hi! I'm Codi.” She smiles her perfect smile and waves at Niall as she s

“Little bold, don't you think mate?” I state, It's true. He just met her and he's already pretty forward with her.

“Just telling her the truth!” Niall exclaims. “What are you up to Codi?”

“My sister and I are going to skim board along the beach. Its beautiful out here, cant be stuck in the shade all day.” Codi informs Niall as she lightly elbows me, I know she's talking about me working again.

“Yeah, you gotta get this kid off the computer, he's always working away, needs to have some fun.” Niall explains and winks at me. Hopefully Codi didn't catch that.

“I have fun!” I exclaim trying to inform them that I'm not always like this, well I haven't always been like this, just lately.

“Liam, you're on a beach in Aruba with a beautiful girl next to you and you're skyping with me, I'm in rainy London. Doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me.” Niall tries to explain to me. Tell me something I don't know Niall.

“Well, then I'd better enjoy my time, huh?" I wink at Niall and smile at Codi.

“Codi!! I got the boards, I got three in case Liam wants to join.” Maggie yells as shes walking across the beach, obviously struggling with the three boards.

“Whose that?” Niall asks, looking to the right almost as if he can actually see her.

“That's my younger sister Maggie.” Maggie informs Niall.

Maggie makes her way over to us and looks on screen. “Who are you talking to?” She asks, peeking above us.

“I'm Niall! Are you Maggie?” He asks.

“I sure am! Nice to meet you Niall!” Shes a little bit more cheerful then she was at breakfast, I'm guessing she's better once she gets food in her system, like a certain someone I'm talking to on the computer.

“Well mate, now you have no excuse, two beautiful women in bikinis who want your attention. I'll talk to you later man!” Niall says as he ends the conversation. I close my laptop and rub my hands together, looking over at the girls.

“Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt, just didn't look like you were having a lot of fun.” Codi states , she looks really nervous.

“Oh, its fine, you're right, I need a break. I need to remember I'm on holiday. Lets go.” I try to make her at ease. I don't want her to think I'm mad at her for trying to get me to have fun, I'm grateful for someone to distract me.

We skim for a while, I like to surf but the waves here aren't as big as they are in California, too many islands to stop the waves. I'm a lot better then the girls. They're not terrible, but they're just skimming the water, not flipping and jumping into the ocean like I've been doing.

“I wish we could go surfing!” Maggie yells to Codi.

“Me too! I didn't realize the waves wouldn't be big enough.” She says dramatically as she falls on the the sand, her body instantly covered in sand.

“You guys surf? In Minnesota?” I ask confused.

They both bust out laughing. I'm not from America, but I know Minnesota does not have an ocean.

“We surf, but not in Minnesota. Our uncle lives in LA, every other year we go visit him, he lives just a few blocks from the beach so we spend all our time their by the ocean.” Maggie explains.

“Are you guys good?” I ask, I love surfing, it would be cool if Codi and I could go together. What am I thinking?

Codi starts laughing. “Well, were not pros obviously but we have fun. Our uncle is quite good, he gives lessons and competes. He's lived in LA since were were babies so we've been on boards since we were toddlers. The first few times is always a little shaky but we get the hang of it pretty quick.”

“I love surfing, maybe we'll be in LA at the same time and we can go together?” I ask hopeful.

“Yeah, that would be fun! You ever been night surfing?” She asks as she props herself up on her elbows and looks at me.

“No, can't say I have.” It sounds a little dangerous to me.

“Well it can be dangerous, but my uncle knows the beach like the back of his hand so when we go with him its safe. You'd love it, surfing by the moonlight. It's amazing.” She exclaims.

“Well, when are you going to LA?” Maybe we can work this out.

“I don't know, this trip is expensive for my parents, and this is the year our uncle is suppose to come visit us, so next summer?” Codi explains. Well that sucks.

“Hey, what time is it?” Maggie asks from the water, I hadn't realized she went back in the water.

I walk over to our chairs and realize its getting “late”.

“It's 11:15!” I yell towards them.

“Shit! Already? Codi, we have to go get ready!” Maggie yells to her as she starts running our chairs to collect her things.

Codi collects the skim boards and grabs her stuff.

“I can take the boards back, you guys go, I'll see you in a little bit for lunch.” I tell them as I start grabbing the boards and walking to the Aqua Hut.

“You sure?” Codi asks.

“Positive, you'd better catch up with Maggie before she leaves you.” I point to Maggie whose already on the sidewalk walking towards their complex.

“Yikes, she can be speedy! Thanks for boarding with us Liam, I hope we can be in LA at the same time, think we could have fun.” She says with a wink and quickly turns around.

She just wink at me? What does that mean? Hopefully what I think it means. I grab my laptop and papers in one hand and the boards in the other to return them to the hut.
