Codi's POV

“I can't believe you know Liam Payne and you didn't say anything!” My sister punches me in the arm.

“Ow! What was that for?” I ask rubbing my shoulder. She was just being my sister, not doing it to hurt but still caught me off guard.

“Um, you met Liam Payne and it just slipped your mind?” She asks with her eyebrows raised in question.

“Well I just ran into him in the lobby, literally, when I was talking to you and I was so fucking nervous when I realized who it was that I didn't want to say anything to you. I didn't plan on seeing him again at the gym today, let alone having breakfast and meeting his whole family. Then having you all come down and meeting him too! Not something I had planned for our trip Mags.” I try to explain as were walking back to our room.

“Well, you're the envy of millions of teenage girls right now.” She looks at me with that face. You know that face when someone tells you should already know.

“Why? Were just friends, I don't even know if I'd call us friends, we only officially met this morning.” I try to act like this isn't that big of a deal, knowing full well it kind of is.

“Um, because I know he likes you Codi, you're just to dumb to notice.” She says somewhat rudely at me.

“Dumb? That's rude Maggie. Who say's he even likes me?” I try not to read into things but I really want to know what she's noticed.

“Really Codi? Um, he was looking at you every chance he got, he got you extra juice when yours was empty without you even asking him to, he made an extra effort to talk to mom and dad, calling them sir and ma'am until they corrected him, he helped you out of your chair. Who does that? It was fairly obvious. And his sisters adored you, you could tell he wanted their approval, he was always including you in their conversations.” She gets her hotel room key our and opens the door.

“Well it doesn't matter, he lives LONDON Maggie. We live in Minnesota. That's quite a geographical difference if you hadn't noticed. And one small detail, he's FAMOUS. And I know for a fact he won't be moving to Minneapolis for me.”

“Who say's he has to? Just spend the week getting to know him, see what happens. Doesn't mean you'll fall in love. Just have fun Codi! You need to have fun, and if it's meant to be, it will work out.” She turns her back towards me and begins digging in her bag for a swimsuit I'm assuming.

I sit on the bed and throw myself back. She's right. I'm thinking way too much into this. Just have fun. See what happens. I close my eyes and rub them. We didn't have to meet till 11:30, it was only 9.

I turn to my side and prop myself up on my elbow, “Want to go to the beach and skim board or something?” I ask.

“Now you're talking! Get your suit on!” She orders me.

Half an hour later

Maggie and I make our way down to the beach after we slathered on plenty of sunscreen, grabbed our towels, and stopped at a food hut for some refreshments. We get to the sand, it's already getting warm, we have flip-flops but no need to wear them in the sand.

I feel a hip bump from Maggie, “What?” I ask looking back at her.

She points a finger just further up the beach, “Well look who it is.” She smirks, its Liam. Sitting on a beach chair under an umbrella hunched over his laptop feverishly typing. I look around and quickly see he's alone. My parents decided to go mini golfing on the resort course, I know Karen and Geoff had decided to join them, but I'm wondering where his sisters are. And wondering why he's on his laptop and not paying attention to the beautiful beach or just relaxing.

“Come on, lets go put our stuff by him.” Maggie says dragging my arm and the rest of me towards him. “In fact, you take my towel, I'm going to go get us some skim boards from the Aqua Hut.” She smirks, almost like she had this plan in mind the whole time.

“Maggie! You can't leave me here with him alone!” I whine.

“Yes I can, and I'm going to. Just interrupt him, make him have fun. You spent all morning alone with him, this is no different.” She says as she shoos me along and walks back towards the hut.

As I get closer I realize not only is he typing but he seems to be talking to someone as well. There are two chairs close to him so I make my way towards him and put our stuff down. He hasn't noticed me yet.

I put on a brave face.

“Hey Liam!” I say with a smile.

“Oh hey Codi, I didn't hear you come up, what are you doing?” He looks at me but then continues to type something.

“Maggie and I are going skim boarding, you want to join?” I ask hopeful he'll say yes.

“Um, sure, just let me finish up things.” I hope I'm not annoying him, he seems really busy, but this is a vacation.

“Oy! Who are you talking to?” I hear someone say from his computer.

“Um just a friend, I met her today at the gym here, her name is Codi.” He explains to the person in the screen.

“Well let me see her!” He demands, his accent sounds different then Liam's. I'm wondering if it's Niall.

“Codi, come sit by me, Niall want's to meet you.” Yep, it's Niall, fantastic, I'll be meeting more of One Direction, this is NOT normal. Liam moves over and pats a space next to him.

“Hi! I'm Codi.” I wave towards the camera as I sit down and pull my hair to the side.

“Hi! I'm Niall! And you're really pretty.” He states, I know I'm blushing, he gets right to the point.

“Little bold, don't you think mate?” Liam asks, I can't help but notice a tint jealousy in his voice.

“Just telling her the truth!” Niall exclaims. “What are you up to Codi?”

“My sister and I are going to skim board along the beach. Its beautiful out here, cant be stuck in the shade all day.” I say as I nudge Liam in the side.

“Yeah, you gotta get this kid off the computer, he's always working away, needs to have some fun.” Niall explains.

“I have fun!” Liam states trying to defend himself.

“Liam, you're on a beach in Aruba with a beautiful girl next to you and you're skyping with me, I'm in rainy London. Doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me.” Niall tries to explain to Liam.

“Well, then I'd better enjoy my time, huh?" Liam smiles at me.

“Codi!! I got the boards, I got three in case Liam wants to join.” Maggie yells.

“Whose that?” Niall asks, looking to the right almost as if he can actually see her.

“That's my younger sister Maggie.” I inform him.

Maggie makes her way over to us and looks on screen. “Who are you talking to?” She asks, peeking above us.

“I'm Niall! Are you Maggie?” He asks.

“I sure am! Nice to meet you!” She states with an excited smile. Even though Maggie has a boyfriend, I know for a fact that she likes Niall. She pays attention to One Direction a little bit more than me and she usually always brings him up when she talks to me about them.

“Well mate, now you have no excuse, two beautiful women in bikinis who want your attention. I'll talk to you later mate!” Niall says as he ends the conversation. Liam closes his laptop and looks at us.

“Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt, just didn't look like you were having a lot of fun.” I explain, hoping he's not upset with us.

“Oh, its fine, you're right, I need a break. I need to remember I'm on holiday. Lets go.”
