Chapter 27

Liam's POV

Seriously. I'm sitting here trying to explain everything to her and all she can talk about is where her uncle Jai is? Come on. Focus on me and this conversation!

“So back to what I was saying. You have anything to add to what I said, or are you just going to keep talking about your uncle Jai? Say something!” I'm getting pissed, I toss my fork on my plate and throw my arms in the air looking at her, waiting.

I can almost see the courage takeover her, her hands steady, her eyes narrow. It's almost scary.

What do you want me to say Liam? That I was so hurt from what you apparently said that I changed my whole life? That I moved to California from Minnesota just so I could get away from my parents who talked to your parents every week? That I cried because you said you were better off without me? That I deleted my twitter because of all the nasty things people had said to me when you apparently unfollowed me? That I hate checking out at the grocery store because you and Sophia were splashed all over the tabloids? Is that what you want to hear? That week in Aruba was the best week of my life, and every time we talked you made my day better no matter what was going on. You want to know that you broke my heart when you started dating Sophia, that you ripped it out my chest and stomped on it when I got those text messages? Is that what you want me to say?" She takes a deep breath, shit. I wasn't expecting her to say everything like that. I can't believe everything she's been through. I'm so selfish, I've thought about nothing else but myself and how easy it would be to be friends again and hopefully get together, this distance between us doesn't bother me anymore, I know I want her and only her.

She roughly pushes back her chair and snatches up her plate before making her way towards the door, she looks back at me. I can see her trying to hold back tears out the corner of her eyes.

“You know what the worst thing about your story is Liam? It took you 9 months to grow the balls to say it to me. 9 months. Just can't wait till 9 more months pass by, what will you have the courage to say to me then?” I'm officially an arse, I can feel tears prick my eyes.

I jump when I hear the door slam and notice she throws her plate into the sink. I don't really know what to do. I just stay stationary, I can't breath. What can I do?

I hear her come back and open the door a few minutes later. I look up only to notice that she drops a folded up piece of paper on the table along with the bracelet I had given to her. I don't dare make eye contact with her.

“I used to read this everyday until a few months ago. I don't need to read it anymore, I have it memorized. It's all lies. You can have it back. And this bracelet, means nothing to me.” Her words hurt. But it's what I've needed to hear. I need to realize what I say and do can effect other people.

People I love and care about. I notice the front door open and Codi walk out, she looks like shes going to a gym of some sort. Wherever she's going she doesn't acknowledge me in any way as she leaves and slams the door.

I sit for a little bit longer wondering what to do next. I have to leave. I can't stay here knowing I've hurt her so much. I quick text Jai telling him I'm leaving and rummage in the house to find a piece of paper and pen. I decide to write Codi another letter. I'm sure she won't read it but I have to try. After I'm finished I call a taxi and grab my bags. It's time to go anyway, the tour starts in a few days and I just can't stay in LA while she's here.

Before I leave I text Maggie.

“It didn't work. She can't stand me. I've lost her.”

Before I shut the front door I hear a ping from my phone.

“It's only just begun Liam. I'll see you in Rio.”

A smile creeps on my face, I forgot that we talked about this back in NYC, she arranged for her family to come to Rio at that time, when we are there, and I got them reservations at the same hotel we're staying in. It was suppose to be the next part of our plan. I didn't expect for the first part to go so terribly. God, I hope Maggie can help me.

@Louis girl

I'm glad you liked it! I probably could have kept going but I didn't want a story that just dragged on and on!

@Emmy2320
I knew you probably wouldn't like the ending, but there is hope in the last section! I'm not exactly opposed to a sequel, I just don't have any idea where I would go with it as of right now. :) I'm working on a new one right now and I'll let everyone know on here when I post it!

I really enjoyed this story even if I am a little sad that they didn't get together! You are an amazing writer and I love that this wasn't a typical story. A sequel would be wonderful but I understand if you don't want to write one! I look forward to reading more of your stories in the future! :)
