Liam's POV
Wednesday

The tour starts in just a few days but I couldn't take it anymore. We won't be in LA until September but I just had to see her. Maggie had talked to her uncle Jai and he had no problem with me coming, she text me their address and told me when Codi usually left for school. I made sure to get there extra early so we could talk.

I wasn't expecting her to leave for work so early, I wanted to talk to her in the house, if she let me in the house, not in the driveway. People didn't know I was in LA but I didn't need to bring any unwanted attention from her neighbors.

When she walked out of the door I stopped, she was breathtaking. I'm sure all the boys in her classes had crushes on her. She was a vision in a gray pencil skirt, white button up shirt, her long dark hair curled down her back (it looks much longer then I remember) and those red flats I remember seeing the first day I had met her. I summon up the courage to speak.

“Hey Codi.” I see her look up and stop in her tracks, this is going to be harder then I thought.

“Liam. W-what are you doing here?” She asks as she continues to walk to her car like she's seem me everyday for the past 9 months.

“I came to talk to you.” Please just listen to me, I just want her to hear me out, your sister gave me the time of day...

“Well I don't have time to talk Liam, I have to get to school. Some of us have jobs where we can't take whatever time off we need.” She pulls keys out of her purse and unlocks it, I take some drastic measures and step in front of the door handle so she can't use it. “Liam, please move. I don't have time for this.”

“Please talk to me Codi.” I'm practically begging her to listen to me.

“I am talking to you, I'm asking you to move, and telling you I can't talk to you because I have to go to work. Go talk to Sophia.” Shes being really rude but I know she was really hurt so I'm not expecting her to forgive me right away and us to live happily ever after like I would prefer.

“Codi, we need to figure things out.” I grab her arms to get her attention, she's out in a distant world.

“Figure what out Liam? You already said what you needed to say, there is nothing more to discuss. Please let go of me so I can go to work. My students need me. And once again, I have things to do.” She's so calm its starting to scare me. Like this part of her world, our part, is shut off and the lights are burnt out forever.

“When are you done with school?” I'm desperate, I only have a few days before I have to be in Columbia.

“I'm done when I'm done.” I can see that shes lying.

“Well I'll be waiting here when you return.” I promise I'll be here, even if I have to sit in her driveway all day and wait.

“You can't stay here, Jai will call the cops, this isn't your property, just because you're an international pop star doesn't mean you can do what you want. Sometimes your decisions have consequences Liam.” And with that she got in her car and drove off, she never even looked back at me.

I stood there for a good 15 minutes just shocked. I thought she wouldn't want to talk to me, but I didn't think she would shut me out completely and act like she couldn't wait to drive off.

I jumped when I heard a door slam.

“You must be Liam.” A tall man with tan skin and black hair approached me. “I'm Jai. Codi just called me to kick you out of my driveway.” To be honest he was a little intimidating. “Don't worry, Maggie told me all about you, I'm on your side. Got any plans for the day?” A smile formed on his lips and he chuckled.

Oh thank God, thank you Maggie.

“Um, no. I thought my morning meeting with Codi would have went better.” I say truthfully.

“Haha, yeah, I figured it went like I thought it would. Well, you surf?” He asks.

“Yeah, I love to surf.” I forgot Jai taught lessons.

“Good, you can help me out today. I have a big group coming in about an hour and obviously my assistant Codi, has to work today. You'll fill in for her. Come with me to grab some boards.”

“Sounds good to me.” I say with a smile. Maybe this will help take my mind off things.

This day has been so much fun. A total turn around from this morning. We spent all morning teaching people how to surf, I haven't been on a board in a while so I struggled a little bit at first but its like riding a bike, I figured it out real quick. Jai and I were currently on a lunch break, we had about an hour before the next group came in. Jai really is living the life, I would love to relax and surf all day.

Of course people would love to live my life too.

“So you and Codi, huh?” He asks breaking the silence.

“Um, yeah. How much do you know?” I ask, wondering how much Maggie has told him, hopefully all of it so I don't have explain it all.

“All of it, well up until the driveway incident. Maggie is really good at telling stories And Codi told me all about you when she first moved in.” He laughs.

“Well good, and now I'm here to fill you in on the rest I guess.” I say as I take a bite of my cheeseburger.

“Well, Codi was pretty upset when she came to me last summer, she's helped me a lot with my then separation, now divorce from my ex wife, and I would do anything for my niece. But I'll tell you one thing, the Jensen women are stubborn as hell. Be prepared to fight for her. I really think this whole thing is a big misunderstanding” He says.

“I know, it is, and I am prepared. I just don't know where to begin.” I say.

“Well if I know Codi, and I do, your little stunt this morning disrupted her day, and she's probably thinking all about you. She'll still be pissed at you this afternoon when she gets home from school. Where are you staying?” He asks as he wipes his hands and throws his napkin in his food basket, obviously done with lunch.

“I actually haven't booked a hotel room yet, I came quick, our tour starts in a few days and I just wanted to see Codi, see if I could get anywhere” I sip my drink and lean back. Surprisingly I haven't really been noticed, I'm sure twitter will blow up sooner or later though.

“”Well that's perfect. You can stay with us.” He surprises me as I choke on my water.

“Are you serious?" I ask, seriously surprised that he's giving me that option. But he did already say hes on my side.

“Yeah man. We have a guest bedroom and it will piss Codi off to no end, she likes her personal space, and this won't give it to her. She will have to talk to you. She hates conflict, and if she knows for sure that you are my guest, she's too nice to be rude to you. At least when I'm around. But stay on your toes.” He laughs. “I treat her like my little sister, even though we have a 19 year age gap, she's easy to give shit to, she usually gives it right back, you know her. And they don't have school tomorrow or Friday so you have plenty of time to annoy the shit out of her. ”

I can see how this might be a problem. But I have to leave Friday, tour starts Sunday so I have lots to do.

We finish our last lessons of the day around three, I had thrown my bags in Jai's jeep before the day started and thankfully it was still there. We hoped in and drove to his house. It was actually really nice beach house, I didn't really know what to expect but I knew living around LA was not cheap. And living just a few miles away from Santa Monica Beach couldn't be that cheap either. We pull into the drive way, he doesn't have an actual garage, but just a big shed by the house filled with surf boards. Its like an oasis.

After we put the boards away I grab my bag and walk into the house, Jai directs me to the guest room and tells he he'll be out back if I feel like coming around. Its a nice bedroom, nothing fantastic, but a bed will do for me. I stretch out on the bed and drift off into sleep.

“What the hell is he doing here Jai!” I hear someone yelling as I wake up with a start, I know Codi is back. I look at my phone, it's past 5 so I know shes home for the day. And its obvious she's pissed.

“He had no where to go so I invited him to stay.” Jia yelled back at Codi.

“Nowhere to go? He's a millionaire, he can go where ever he wants, he doesn't need pity, or-or to be someone's house guest. He's not my friend, I don't want him here.” That kind of broke my heart, I'm not her friend, I really did break her.

“I don't care Codi. He's my friend and he's staying. You need to talk to him, and if he stays somewhere else you two won't figure things out. Things are not as they seem, he didn't do this to you.” Jai lowers his voice down.

“But he did Jai. Those texts were from him. And worst of all he spent 9 months ignoring me when he had all the means to get ahold of me and make things right. I'm sick and tired of listening to people telling me to give him another chance, I get it from mom, dad, Maggie recently, Ruth, Nicola, and Karen. I'm tired of it. I don't need it from you too.” She sounds just exhausted.

“Just give him a chance! Be nice to him Code.” Well I know Jai is for sure on my side.

“I don't want to! I can't believe you would do this to me and let him stay. You are my family. You're suppose to be on my side, not his!” She is yelling so loud I'm sure the whole block can hear her.

“I am on your side Codi, but you have to hear him out. He's my guest and he's staying.” Jai stands firm.

“Fine. But this is fucking ridiculous. If he talks to Sophia in front of me, I'm staying at Ryan's.” Why is she bringing up Sophia? Whose' Ryan? Is this her new boyfriend, Maggie and Jai never said anything about a boyfriend.

“You want to leave this quiet house for Ryan's house, how many kids does she have? Like three or four, you want to leave a land of adults to a place where children rule? I'm calling your bluff Code.” Okay, so Ryan is apparently a girl, in fact a mom of three or four.

“Whatever Jai, I'll be in my room.”

After I hear Codi walk down the hall and past my room I notice she pauses for a minute at my door before continuing on, apparently her room is right next door to mine, and it shuts with a slam. This is just a great start. I decide to venture out and see whats going on.

I notice the balcony doors are open towards the back of the house, the living room is a little sunken in, open kitchen. Jia is sitting at the table with a cup of something looking like he's deep in thought.

“You heard that?” He asks, startles me a little bit, I didn't think he saw me.

“Um, yeah. Should I go?” I ask as I pull out a chair to sit across from him.

“No, she'll be fine, just give her some time. In the mean time, I'm going to go to the grocery store, I have to pick up a few things. Dinner is cooking in the oven, just some lasagna, the timer is already set, I'll be back before you know it.” He explains.

“Does Codi know you're leaving?” I don't want to surprise her if I'm the only one there, but I'm okay that she already knows I'm here.

“Um, no.” Jai puts his cup in the sink and slips his shoes on by the door, opens it and turns to me, “It will be fine Liam. Don't worry so much.” And with that he left.
