Liam's POV

Everyone his finishing up eating, just chatting up a bit before we go to the show. Codi is sitting next to me, she look a little nervous to be quite honest, I have no idea what for but hopefully I can calm her down. I reach my hand out towards her her thigh and just leave it there. I can feel her tense up as soon as I place it there but after a few seconds, she relaxes.

While at the show, I notice Blake more then the show. Although the performers are amazing, I love looking at Codi's face as she's watching everything. You can see the excitement and at some points terror on her face as they preform their tricks. She gasps several times and closes her eyes a few times, she also grips into my thigh several times when things look a little tricky.

After the show we make our way back to our buildings. Codi's is closer to the main area then mine is, we quickly fall behind everyone as I lace my fingers with hers. I could hear her breath hitch as I feel the energy pulsate between our hands. We don't talk as were walking but I do notice how easily our families get along, its a change of pace, not having to hid us or wonder if our parents will like each other. We already know.

Suddenly I get the urge to kiss her, these last few days have just been perfect. I stop in the middle of the sidewalk and pull her back towards me. She's looking down at the ground.

I get the courage to speak. “So.” Good line Liam, so. “You want to eat breakfast with me tomorrow?” Really? I'm getting nervous now?

“Um, sure. We both seem to get up early, meet you around 7:30?” She asks and starts to turn to walk towards her building. Now or never bud. I don't move and continue to pull her back towards me.

“7:30 is perfect, Codi?” I ask and try to scoot her closer to me.

“Yes Liam?” She asks, she looks nervous, eyes down darting back and forth.

I wrap my free arm around her waist and pull her towards me even more. Here goes nothing. I tilt her chin up to face me and pull her in for a kiss. Just a simple light kiss, I don't want to creep her out or make her uncomfortable. It's a fantastic kiss, probably the best I've ever had. Ever. I let go before I really want to but I know it's for the best.

I open my eyes and realize Codi is frozen in place. Must have made an impression on her as well.

I clear my throat, “Well, we should catch up.” I'm still looking at her, I hope she doesn't think that kiss didn't mean anything.

“Um, yeah.” She says breathless, we lace our fingers together and continue down the path. Once we reach her room I pull her in for a hug and give her a kiss on the cheek. Apparently all my confidence is gone. A kiss on the cheek. Just like I'd give my nan when I say goodbye.

“See you at breakfast?” I ask hoping to make this less awkward.

“Yes sir, 7:30.” She says as she swipes to open the door, I'm still holding on to her hand, as she begins to walk away something just comes over me and I pull her back, smashing her lips on to mine. This time with more force and passion, I really want to let her know I care about her. Her mouth gapes open just slightly and I find my way in rather quickly. I'd rather this moment never end but I must allow it to.

“Um, I should probably let you get some rest.” I stammer out and run my fingers through my hair.

“Yeah, breakfast tomorrow.” She mutters out, abruptly turns and runs right into the door. We hadn't noticed that the door had shut. I have to hold back a chuckle but I know it sneaks out. I know Codi is embarrassed, she hits her head on the door in frustration.

“No making fun! You distracted me, this is your fault!” She jokes.

I throw my hands in the air in defeat, “Oh yes, totally my fault.” She pulls her key card out again and tries once more, once the door opens, she turns back to me with a smile.

“Good night Liam.”

“Good night Codi.”

Is all I want to say in return. But I'll hold myself back. I've known her for only a few days, no need to come off as a creep.

The door closes with her inside as I turn around with a smile. I can't believe I've met someone so amazing here. And I know she's genuine. I make my way down the stairs, almost skipping, I can't stop smiling.

“Liam!”

“Jesus, Ruth! You trying to kill me?” I ask as she literally appears from nowhere and scares the shit out of me.

“Sorry, I just wanted to wait around to see what happened between you and Codi.” She walks towards me.

“You spying on us?” I ask.

“Not spying exactly, I just wanted to see what you and Codi were doing. And I saw you two kiss when we were walking on the sidewalk so yeah, I wanted to see. I'm a snoopy older sister. And I don't care.” Ruth states as she crosses her arms. “So what are you going to do Liam?”

“What do you mean, what am I going to do?” I ask confused, but in all reality, I know what she means.

“You and Codi? Obviously mom and Anna are in love with the idea of you two getting together but what about you and your life when you return home? You know, London, approximately 6,000 kilometers away from each other. That's distance. And I'm not trying to be rude but you don't have the best track record with being away from your girlfriend.” Ruth starts tapping her foot in anticipation for my answer.

“Well, first off, thanks for that awesome reminder about how I'm not good with long distance relationships, second, we're not official, we've both admitted we like each other and we're just going with the flow. And I know mom and Anna are great friends already, but I can't let that get in the way of our feelings. I don't know what were doing after this. I have a busy life, she's in Minnesota, we haven't even talked about it. That good enough for you?” Clearly frustrated with this conversation I start walking back towards our complex leaving Ruth behind.

“Liam, wait!” I hear Ruth running after me. “I didn't mean to upset you, I like Codi, I don't want her to get hurt. You lead a different life then her. We've only all known each other for a few days, but I love her whole family. I don't want something bad to happen to you two and have it effect everyone. I'm just trying to look out for you two.” She's trying to explain where she's coming from.

“I get it Ruth. But please, just let us figure it out. Codi and I, that's it. Codi and I. Not Codi, Maggie, Ruth, Nicola, James, Anna, mom, dad, and I. Please, just let us be and figure it out."

“Fine Liam. But tomorrow is Tuesday, Codi is leaving on Friday. You two need to figure it out before then.” Ruth states as she turns around and walks away.

Ugggg.

Why is this everyone's business? Or they think it's everyone's business. Codi and I like each
other, why can't Ruth just say ok and move on. I don't put myself in her relationships, just because I'm who I am, doesn't mean everyone needs to be involved in my life.
