How to Say Goodbye

"I love you." He shouts from across the street. I freeze, hesitating before turning around. He was smiling widely like the usual idiot he was.

I wanted to barf. I didn't deserve him. I don't deserve any of this.

"Well?" He yells. I opened my mouth to talk, to scream all the words I was never able to say. Instead, I turned away from him and started to sprint away.
