Overworked

Maddie’s P.O.V
Harry went back on stage and Dani went to get Belle and the kids back.
“I feel like an idiot. How could I even doubt him?” I said to Perrie and El.
“Hey, don’t worry. We all doubted him.”
“But I should know that he wouldn’t do that again. He loves me and I know it.” I sighed.
“I’m sure he doesn’t care.” She said and Melissa ran to me.
“Are you okay Mummy?” She said and hugged me.
“Yeah, what are you doing?” I asked at her sudden hug.
“Daddy said if you cry I have to hug you.” She told me. I smiled down at her and she pulled away.
“Okay, well, I’m not crying anymore so let’s watch daddy yeah?” I smoothed out the bump in her hair. She nodded and clung onto my legs whilst we watched. The boys finished and ran off stage. Harry came over and picked up Melissa.
“Eww, Daddy you smell.” She held her nose and I laughed. Melissa has never been one to spare other people’s feelings.
“Thanks darling.” He laughed and put her down. He came over to me and kissed me.
“She’s right you know, you smell, go shower.” I told him. He smiled and walked to the dressing room.
“Do we have to go now?” Adam asked.
“Not for a few minutes but you need to say goodbye to your dad when he comes back, you guys need to go to bed.” I said. He pouted and nodded at me. Harry came back a few minutes after and the kids said goodbye.
“I’m sorry again. I really love you.” I hugged him.
“I know, I was thinking when I was on stage that I would have done the exact same thing. It’s okay babe. I love you.” He kissed me.
“I’m going to miss you.” I told him.
“Me too but I’ll call or Skype you like every day I promise.” He said and hugged me once more.
“Okay baby, byee.” I kissed him and took my keys out of my bag. “Right, come on guys.” I said to Brooke, Adam and Lis. They waved goodbye to Harry and we walked to the door. I opened it and they went out and I turned back and blew a kiss at Harry. We got into the car and drove home with Lis sniffing all the way.
Harry’s P.O.V
I watched as my beautiful family left the stadium and turned and went to the dressing room. “They’ve gone then?” Louis asked.
“Yeah, has El?”
“Yeah, she left when you were showering.” I nodded.
“We’ll see them soon don’t worry.”
“We leave the country on Monday Louis. I already miss them and they’ve been gone for two minutes.”
“It’ll be okay, we’ve got each other.” He said. The others came in looking just as depressed.
“We’re going back to the hotel in a few minutes. The girls have all left now.” Niall said. Paul came in.
“Come on, at least you got to see them. We need to get to the hotel now.” He told us. We all stood up and followed after him. We got into the van and drove back to the hotel.
Maddie’s P.O.V
I put the kids to bed and then went up to bed myself. I lay awake for hours, hoping that Harry would join me but I know he won’t. It’s so weird being in an empty bed. Harry has been home for almost a year now so I haven’t been in an empty bed and now it’s hard sleeping. I took my phone off the nightstand and dialled Harry’s number.
“Hey babe,” He answered sounding 100% awake.
“Hi,” I said.
“What’s the matter? Can’t sleep?”
“No, I need you here with me.” I sighed.
“I know how you feel. Niall keeps coming into my room so it’s not that bad but I miss you, you don’t fidget as much.” He laughed.
“Well just as long as Niall doesn’t steal you.”
“No chance of that happening.” He said.
“Can’t you just come home for tonight?”
“I wish I could. We’re not allowed baby.”
“Fine, I love you Harry.”
“I love you too Maddie. I’ll speak to you tomorrow.” He said and hung up. I sighed and put my phone back down trying to sleep again. My phone buzzed so I looked at it.

There’s a sweater in the closet if you still can’t sleep, and if that doesn’t work you can always sneak into Lis’ bed :) Sweet Dreams xox
I smiled and got out of bed to retrieve the sweater. I picked it up and went back to bed and fell asleep straight away. He knows exactly how to get me to sleep.
“Mum, I can’t sleep.” Brooklyn said coming into my room. I sat up and looked at her.
“Why not?” I asked.
“I miss Dad. I don’t feel safe without him here.” She sat down on the bed.
“Baby, you’re safe with me don’t worry. I miss your dad too. Come here.” I opened my arms and she hugged me.
“Can I stay in here tonight?”
“Of course.” I told her and she pulled back the covers and climbed into the bed. She lay down right next to me and shut her eyes going to sleep. I put my arm around her and went to sleep myself.
When I woke up it was 9am. I looked down to see a sleeping Brooklyn next to me. She looked so peaceful. I got out of bed and put Harry’s sweater back into the closet and went to have a shower. I got dressed and then went downstairs and sat at the breakfast bar drinking tea. I can’t make tea nearly as well as Harry can. God Maddie, stop thinking about him. It’s only gonna make you miss him more. I took my phone out of my pocket and began scrolling through my twitter feed.
“@OneDirectionUpdateees: Rumour has it that all the girls went to One Direction’s concert at Wembley Stadium last night.”
“@fuckmezarry: I went to 1D’s concert last night; does anyone know why they stopped it midway through?”
“@OneDirectionUpdateees: Apparently Maddie had a breakdown or something but El called Louis over and they ran to Maddie and Harry followed. But no one knows for sure.”
I sighed and scrolled down.
“MASFashionista4eva: It was the saddest day of my life when SYCO records announced that @MAStyles had stopped singing, I really thought she’d keep going for ages.”
I decided to reply to that one.
“@MAStyles: That’s really sweet but 10/11 years is a long time and I really don’t have time to do it anymore. But who knows, there may be the odd concerts but don’t hold me to that.”
Then I moved down a bit more.
“@narryshippermjk: Is it true that this tour is One Direction’s goodbye? They have been doing this for 16 years so it wouldn’t be a surprise but can anyone confirm/deny this.”
I replied to that one too.
“@MAStyles: I don’t think it is so you don’t need to worry, they’ve still got a few years left in them yet :)” I waited for a moment and she replied.
“@narryshippermjk: Thanks Maddie, are you okay by the way? People are saying you had a breakdown.”
I went onto my main tweets.
“@MAStyles: I didn’t have a breakdown last night; well I did but only a minor one. Sorry for any of the fans that went to the concert on behalf of me and all the guys.” I closed twitter and started going through my texts. I had a few new ones which I hadn’t bothered to read.

I take it you got to sleep then. I love you so much, never forget that xx
I smiled and locked my phone. I heard someone yawn behind me and turned around to see Brooklyn.
“You alright?” I asked getting up to hug her.
“Yeah, thanks for letting me stay with you last night.”
“It’s okay, anything for my princess.” I smiled. Adam and Melissa came down soon after. “Right, we’re going out today to get you guys to stop moping about your father so where do you want to go?” I asked them.
“Can we go to the cinema?” Brooklyn questioned. I looked at the others and they nodded.
“Go and get ready then.” I said and they went upstairs to get ready.

Notes

There's going to be a massive time jump in the next chapter so for that I'm sorry but I couldn't portray them missing each other much
