Overworked

Maddie’s P.O.V
I looked at Harry who had the biggest smile on his face.
“Would you like to know the sex?” The doctor asked and I looked at Harry to answer. I’d prefer it if we did just so we can organise stuff.
“Yes please.” Harry said.
“Well it looks like two girls.” The doctor said. I knew Harry wouldn’t be happy with this because he wanted another boy around. Instead there are going to be five girls…oops. The doctor printed out pictures of the scan and wiped the gel from my stomach. I pulled my top back down and got off of the bed. Harry picked up my bag and we went to my car.
“I know you wanted another boy so I’m sorry.” I said. He just mumbled something and got into the passenger seat. All the way home he didn’t say a word. We got back and went straight to El and Louis’.
“How did it go?” Louis asked when we walked in.
“Good yeah.” I held my bump.
“Haz?” Louis turned to him. He groaned and Melissa came running down the stairs. Harry picked her up and I went and sat with Louis.
“What’s wrong with him?” Louis asked.
“I’m having twins and they’re both girls, he wanted another boy.” I told him. He nodded and Harry came in and sat with Melissa on his lap.
“So you’ve told him then?” He looked at me.
“Yes Harry. Stop being like this with me for god sake. I haven’t seen you in three months and this is how you treat me? I preferred it when you weren’t here.” I got up from the couch.
“Come on Lis, we’re going home, Brooke, Adam!” I shouted up the stairs. They came down and I led them out of the door back home.
“Mummy, what’s wrong with Daddy?” Melissa asked. I sighed.
“Nothing baby. He’s tired, that’s all.”
“Is the baby okay?” She put her small hand on my bump.
“Yes princess.” I smiled at her and picked her up. I hugged the others and went into the kitchen still carrying Lis. Harry came back in.
“Why are you carrying her? You’ll hurt yourself Maddie! You’re seven months pregnant!” He took Lis off of me.
“I may well be but I can still do everything I usually do. Just leave me alone.” I turned around. Harry cursed and walked out.
“Watch your language!” I shouted and got some food out of the fridge. I prepared it and then sat down and started to eat it.
“I’m sorry.” Harry sat down at the table.
“So am I. My hormones are everywhere. I’m sorry that they’re both girls too.” I told him.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s just gonna cost me a fortune that’s all.” He laughed.
“Well after these two no more kids agreed? We don’t have a big enough house.” I said.
“Agreed, have you got the kids’ presents for Christmas?” He asked.
“Of course, I got them ages ago. They’re all wrapped in our closet.”
“Okay, I’ve got you the best present ever.” He held my hand.
“Oh trust me; nothing is going to beat my present for you.” I smiled at him.
“Well we’ll just have to see about that, where is everyone sleeping?” He questioned.
“Brooke is bringing Carl and Aimee so they’re all in one room. Faye has her own room and then my parents. I have no idea what we’re doing about your family though. Matthew can share with Adam but then that leaves Gemma, Ashton, Anne and Robin.” I told him.
“God, that’s 16 people we have to cook for. Well 18 if we include the babies.” He looked at my bump. I smiled.
“We need two extra bedrooms.” Harry laughed and then I remembered something.
“Or not,” I grabbed the back door keys and went out into the garden.
“Where are you going Maddie?” Harry followed after me. I went to the back of the garden where the building with 3 bedrooms in it is. “I forgot all about this.” He said as I unlocked the door.
“We’ve never been in here in all the 12 years we’ve lived in this house.” I said. We looked around and they were actually really nice bedroom and just need a bit of clearing up.
“Sorted,” Harry said.
“Yep, we just need to clear these rooms up.” I agreed.
“Well, I’ll do this and you go and relax.” He said.
“No, I don’t trust your idea of tidying.” I laughed and sat down whilst he went to get all the cleaning stuff from the house. He came back and started clearing up. We spent about an hour sorting the rooms out fully and then they were done. We went back inside and the kids wanted to know where we had been.
“We’ve been in the building at the back of the garden because there are bedrooms in there.” Harry told them. He put all the cleaning stuff away and we sat and played with the children.
“Mummy, can I sit on your lap?” Lis asked.
“Sure you can,” I said pulling her onto me. Harry glared at me.
“Don’t” I mouthed and he turned back to Adam. I sat and played with Lis on my lap. I’m so lucky to have this family. I have 3 gorgeous children with an amazing man and another two on the way. I’m seriously the luckiest woman in the world. Harry is the best thing that has ever happened to me. If he didn’t come into my life I would be back in California now. I would probably be with some other guy. If he hadn’t have knocked on my door that morning or had told me he was in a boyband straight away, I wouldn’t have this family. I wouldn’t have the best family ever.
“What are you thinking about babe?” Harry asked.
“Our amazing family.” I smiled at him.
“I love you.” He said.
“I love you too.” I replied. My family get here at 9am tomorrow, so from 9am tomorrow, there is going to be a 2 year old in the house. Brooke settled down and had a baby with a man named Carl. I don’t really like him but that’s not up to me. Her daughter is called Aimee after my middle name. Faye is still single and looking for the right guy and my parents are still happy as ever. Harry’s family on the other hand get here the day after tomorrow. Gemma is now married to Ashton Irwin from 5SOS and has a 4 year old son with him, Matthew. As for Anne and Robin, they’re still together and very happy. So there are going to be 5 kids and 11 adults to feed. Luckily our dining room is huge and we have a big enough table for 16 people. It may seem mad but we do. I noticed Harry looking at me and he tapped his watch. I looked at my phone and it was 5pm. “Lis, I’ve got to go and cook dinner babe.” I told her. She sighed and moved off of my lap so I could cook their dinner. I made pasta bake and called the kids into the kitchen. They sat down at the breakfast bar and I handed them their plates. Harry came in and I gave him the rest of it.
“Babe, don’t tell me you’re not eating, you’re eating for three remember.” He said and the kids turned round.
“Three?” They looked confused and we realised we hadn’t told them.
“Yeah, I’m having twins guys. Two girls, sorry Adam,” I said. Adam groaned and went back to eating and the girls looked really excited. “Eat your dinner girls. And I’m not eating this. I’m making my own dinner.” I said and went back to the fridge. I made myself a wrap and ate it with the kids. They all finished their dinner and I washed the dishes. “Lis, go and get ready for a bath but don’t run it, I’ll do that.” I told her putting the plates away. Lis went upstairs and I followed after her. I ran the bath and then put Lis in it.
“Mummy, what are you going to call the babies?” She asked.
“I don’t know baby, I’ll have to talk to Daddy about that first.” We talked as I bathed her and then I got her out of the bath and into her pyjamas. She ran into her bedroom and got into bed.
“Can you read me a story?” She questioned.
“Me? What about Daddy?”
“No. You, pleaseeeee?” She begged.
“What story baby?” I walked over to her bookcase. She told me the book that she wanted and I read it to her. She fell asleep midway through so I put the book away, kissed her forehead and slowly tiptoed out of the room so as not to wake her. I went downstairs and Harry was on the couch with the kids either side of him so I sat on the other couch. Adam went up to bed about an hour later so I moved to where Adam had been sitting. Harry put his arm around me and pulled me closer. When Adam had finished in the shower, Brooke went up to bed leaving just me and Harry. “We’ve got to tidy up.” I said picking up the video controllers and putting them into the TV stand.
“Sit down, I’ll do it.” He got up.
“No, I want to help. I don’t want you to do everything yourself.” I told him. He gave in and let me help him clear up. We cleaned the whole house in a couple of hours and then sat and watched some TV. I went up to bed at about 10 o’clock and went to sleep. I don’t know what time Harry came up because I was probably fast asleep by then.

So sorry that I haven't updated lately, I was in Spain until Saturday and then I was doing other things. I also want to let you know that I have up to when the twins are 1 and a half on my phone and I just need to copy it up. I'm on Easter Holidays now so I'm going to try and get that typed up (or as much as I can) before I go back to school on the 23rd. Then after that I've got exams coming up so I'll be revising so I apologise if I don't update much but when school finishes for summer I will honestly crack down on all of my stories and get updating. Anyway, enjoy this chapter!
