When Nightmares Become Reality

NIALL POINT OF VIEW
I looked around the room, everyone was laughing at the joke Louis just told for the 100th time, my phone vibrated in my pocket, I pulled it out and it was unknown number ‘Hello?’ I said putting my hand over my other ear. ‘Hel- Hang on’ I got up and walked to the next room. ‘Hello?’
‘Niall, Niall! Quickly you have to hurry, Its Jazz. Tell the other boys, she’s at the hospital Niall, hurry!’ Then the phone cut off.
‘Guys! We have to go. Now! Louis grab the car keys! We’re going to the hospital.’ I ran out the front door.

When we arrived at the front door, I didn’t even wait until Louis had stopped the car. All that was going through my mind was ‘Please be okay, Please, Please be okay’ I got to the reception desk. ‘Jasmine Blade?’ She pointed down the hall and I took off. When I got to the room that she had said I froze. She was just laying there, with a heart monitor and a drip in her arm, other than that she could have passed as sleeping. I heard the boys stop behind me. I looked back to Liam, ‘Niall, You could have at least told us something before you took off’ I walked into the room.
‘I’m sorry Liam, I know.’ I reached out for her hand. It felt so cold under my warm hands. Come on guys let’s give them some time’ Louis said as he started pushing everyone back out. They all left after that.
‘Hey Jazz, I can see that your asleep, But if you can hear me can you squeeze my hand?’ I grabbed her hand a little tighter. I felt her finger move underneath mine. ‘Okay, was that just a finger twitch or what?’ I said and laughed. ‘Sorry not the right time to be saying jokes. Danielle rang me before and had me so worr-‘ A phone rang, I looked around and located the source it was coming from a pile of clothes on Jazz’s night stand. I reached in and pulled out her phone as well as an envelope addressed to her. ‘Hello?’ I answered.
‘Hello, this is Damian; Jasmine’s father, Is she there?’ I took a breath before replying.
‘Yes Mr Blade she is here’
He spoke louder ‘Well can I talk to her please?’
I raised my voice too enough that he would get that I’m not a nice guy but soft enough that I wouldn’t disturb Jazz. ‘Actually Mr Blade you can’t, she was hit by a car earlier today and is now sleeping in a hospital bed. Not that you would care anyways.’ I hung up before I said anything that I would regret afterwards. I held Jazz’s phone in my hand with the envelope and went and sat back down.
‘I wonder why you have an unopened letter with your phone?’ I asked myself. I heard a knock on the door and seen the doctors face. I nodded indicating that they were welcome to come in. I looked back at Jazz but got up.
‘Hello, my name is Doctor Starr and I will be looking after Jasmine today, Can I please ask what relationship you have with Miss Blade?’ She asked extending her hand out to me.
I took it and replied. ‘I’m Niall Horan and I'm her boyfriend.’ I said shaking her hand. ‘What are her injuries, I mean she looks fine just some bumps and bruises and this drip’ I said walking over and pointing to the machine.
‘From the injuries that she has she is unable to feed herself because she is in a medically induced coma’
‘A coma?!’
‘A medically induced coma Mr Horan. It is to help speed up her healing process. She will be awake and talking in just under a week if everything goes according to plan’
‘Okay, Thank you Doctor, Do you mind sending the other people in?’ I asked watching Jazz’s heart beat on the screen.
I heard her walk out and tell them that they could walk in; I needed to get her flowers, balloons and teddies. I started to walk out when everyone walked in. ‘Guy’s I’ll be right back, please don’t leave her side. I don’t want her to be alone ever.’ When I walked out I seen a police officer and a woman were talking ‘So ma’am, you were the one who found her?’
‘Yes’ she answered. I walked a little closer to them.
‘And did you see the car that hit her afterwards?’
‘No, It drove off too fast for me to even see it’
‘Do you think it was on purpose, did it look like the car swerved and hit her?’
‘I don’t want to get anybody in trouble here, but yes Sir it did.’ So she was hit by a car on purpose?!
‘Who the hell would do that’ I said out loud. Both the woman and police officer looked at me. ‘I’m sorry’ I said putting my head down and walked to the gifts shop.
When I walked out of there I had a teddy bear as big as me, a big bunch of red roses and lots of “get well soon” Balloons. I made my way back to the room and noticed Danielle was pacing outside of the room.
‘Danielle, what’s wrong? Why aren’t you in there with everyone else?’
‘Oh, It’s just very crowded in th- Whoa’ She said looking at all the presents I had in my hands. ‘She must be pretty special for you to go out and buy all of this!’ She said moving closer grabbing the teddy bear and hugging it. ‘It’s so soft’
‘Thanks, I didn’t know what else to get here and she is Danielle, She is really special to me, I know we just meet but she isn’t all crazy around me like everybody else is, she’s herself and I like that about her.’
‘Aww, I’m glad Niall, It’s about time you found a girlfriend, right?’
‘Exactly!’
‘Now let’s go in there and show everyone what you brought her!’ She said putting her arm around my shoulder and opened the door.
