Just Harry and I.

Chapter Twenty-Eight.

*SCARLETT'S POV*

"Everyone, this is Scarlett Bianca Jones," she was flickering her eyes over to a man in the corner who was watching every detail. "she's 21 and her birthday is June the 14th. She is originally from Surrey but she moved to Holmes Chapel about 4 years ago. Her mother has passed away unfortunately," what the fuck? Why did she say that? I was going to cry. I bit down hard on my lip. Perrie looked tremendously guilty. I didn't understand. "and her father left her before she was even born." okay, that was too far. What was happening? A tear dropped down my face and Perrie brushed it off. "Sorry Scar, it will all become clear soon. I'm so so sorry." she whispered down my ear.

I'd only just told her all this information and now she was giving it out to everyone. How often would she do this? Why was she doing this? I hadn't even met Little Mix before but now Jade, Leigh-Anne and Jessica were staring at me with sympathetic eyes. I hated that. I hated being the one who lost everything. Certain people could never talk to me the same anymore, they were always treating me more special.

"Hi Scarlett. I'm Jessica!" Jessica shook my hand politely.

"I'm Leigh-Anne."

"and I'm Jade." they all shot big smiles. I was laughing to myself because they treated me as if I had no idea who they were. They were famous and frickin' awesome. I was happy this made me laugh because I didn't like crying at all. I'd say hate but sometimes it's nice to cry, you feel better for it. Or crying with laughter.

"It's nice to meet all of you, I'm a big fan." I replied.

"And we're a big fan of you! Perrie's been tell us all about you." Jessica twirled.

"We're dying to hear you sing." Jade added.

"O-o-okay. What should I sing?" I was reluctant to say this. I loved singing but it was hard to in front of people I didn't know or had only just met. No Scar. If you want to make a career out of this you've got to face your stage frights. Also, it didn't help that there was a random man stood in the corner, judging my every move. Who was he?

"Barbie Girl!" Per shouted. I giggled.

"No Perrie." Leigh-Anne rolled her eyes.

"Ugh, fine." she groaned.

"What about Busy by Olly Murs?" Jade offered.

"Tune." Perrie agreed.

"I like it." I smiled.

"Let's roll." Jessica sang.

I took my position in front of them. 5 pairs of eyes impatiently watching me.

"Weekends in bed, no scrambled eggs or bacon
I just have time for you
Backs on the grass, heads in the clouds
We close our eyes, enjoy the view

We spend all our time lying side by side
Going nowhere, it's really something
Getting busy doing nothing
We spend all our time running for our lives
Going nowhere, it's really something
Getting busy doing nothing."

I scanned my eyes around the room. The man was nodding to himself and writing down notes. The girls had been clapping and dancing the whole way through before giving me a huge applause at the end.

"Wow." Jessica grinned.

"Amazing." Leigh-Anne cheered.

"Honey, you're gonna go far." Jade hugged me.

"How do you do it?" Perrie pleaded.

"Oh shush, all of you. You're way more talented than me don't even start that!" I couldn't stop smiling though, it felt amazing to be so nicely complimented by the members of Little Mix. I felt so special for once. It was a great feeling.

"Your boyfriend HARRY STYLES," she shouted clearly in order for the man to hear. Confused. "should be so proud of you." her hands were placed on my shoulders. It was hard to be flattered when some randomer was listening in on all my personal details.

"Okay, wait. Who is that guy? Why does he need to know so much about me? Why is here? What's going on?" I fired these questions at Perrie.

"Alright, could you come here a minute please?" she directed towards the guy. He looked about 35 and he was very hench. He was good looking and had green eyes with a dirty blonde quiff. "Can you explain to Scarlett who you are?" the guy looked up at me, his green eyes shining just like Harry's, then smiled delicately.

"Hi Scarlett Bianca Jones, I'm Jack Bailey," he paused. "and I want to sign you." Wait what? Perrie jumped up and down, swirling.

"YAY! You liked her voice? I knew you would!" Perrie screamed.

"Yes, very much so. It was outstanding. I simply could not pass the opportunity to sign her." Jack said, laughing at Perrie's excitement. I was shocked. I was speechless. I wasn't even sure what was going on.

"Sorry?" I managed to say.

"I want to sign you. You could go big, I can tell people are gonna love your music and voice. It's incredible." he explained.

"So like-"

"You're gonna be a star." Perrie grinned.

"What do you say?" Jack asked.

"I-I dont know." I stammered. It was a bit overwhelming.

"Of course, Miss Jones. Here's my business card, ring me for any further details. Take your time to answer." Jack patted me on the shoulder, then hurried off.

"What are you gonna say?" Jade asked, intrigued. I didn't know. This was all I ever wanted and now I'd been offered it, well, it just didn't seem real. I wasn't too sure.

"I don't know." I repeated. Per wasn't smiling so much anymore.

"You have to, it's your dream." she whispered.

"I'm so grateful for all of this, honestly I am. But, I need to time to think all of this over." With that, I walked out, shoving the business card into my purse. I headed back to the hotel. The rain was pouring down my face so my tears were camouflaged. I decided to walk through it, it would give me time alone. It was nice to have that sometimes.

In the distance I noticed a little cemetery behind a church. I ran up to it. Obviously, we were in America so my mothers gravestone wasn't there, but what did I care? I needed to talk to her. I knelt in front of a gravestone without any words written on it. My legs were covered in mud and my face was dripping with ran make up.

"I've been offered my dream job, mum. Should I take it?" I sighed. "This is all I've ever wanted, why am I acting so hesitant? My dream job. Dream. One in a million of peoples fantasy occupations don't come true, I have the chance to fulfill mine and I'm thinking about it. What is wrong with me?" I paused, turning my head up to the sky. The rain was falling into my eyes but I just let it.

"I wish I could hear your voice, mum. Just one more time. That soothing voice. You'd calm me down. You'd help me through this. Harry's amazing but he's not family. He's so supportive and everything, you'd love him. There's only a certain amount he can do though. He can never heal the pain you've left me in. He can never bring you back. No one can. You shouldn't have gone, disappeared so quickly. It was all my fault. I wish they could have taken my life not yours. You didn't deserve this, any of this. I just...I just need you. Please." I sobbed more and more and tugged at my hair.

"I hope they're treating you well up there." I was now whispering. "if anyone dares bully you, when I join you up there, we're gonna create a gang and kick their ass, yeah? Not that anyone would bully you of course. I bet you're being so friendly with everyone, welcoming them all in into your soft, protective grip." I crossed my legs.

"She's been put out the pain now at least, thank you." I didn't exactly know who I was talking to now, I was kinda hoping there was a God. "I miss you mummy, I will never stop loving you." I finished.

"Daddy?" a heard a little girl say in the background. The guy who I was assuming was her dad, bent down next to the girl so he was her height.

"Yes darling?" he replied, he looked upset as he was obviously there to visit a loved one who had passed away. Kids don't understand though, they weren't old enough really. This girl wasn't anyway.

"What's that woman doing?" she pointed over at me. I placed my head in my hands.

"She's saying goodbye." he answered. I wanted to yell at him, I would never say goodbye. I clenched my fists. But I stopped myself. I calmed myself down.I was over reacting. What else was he meant to tell the girl? That I was mental? Explain to her about death and why she was there as well? No. He couldn't.

"To who?" she looked surprised as I was by myself.

"Someone very important to her. Someone special." he saw my eyes look over to his and gave me a sympathetic smile. I returned it. She was important. She was special. She was nothing the world knew. She was the best mum. So brave, so strong. I would never forget that. I had to say goodbye, everyone knew it. I had to accept the fact she was gone and was never coming back.

"Goodbye Mummy Jones." I shouted.

"She's British!" the little girl squealed. I laughed, a lot. I giggled away along with the little girl who looked quite satisfied with herself. She probably didn't get why I was laughing, but everything she did helped me in some way. And what she just said, lightened the mood. Imagine that, about a 3 year old just helped sort my life out.

"Thank you!" I ran over and gave her a hug. After, I escaped the cemetery and hailed a taxi. I was lost now, so I needed to do the sensible thing to get back.

"Harry?" I shouted as I opened the door to our hotel room.

"I'm in the bath, sweetie!" he replied. I washed my face in the sink we had in our bedroom, to hide any evidence that I was crying then I walked in. The bubbles were covering his 'private parts' which I was disappointed with at first, then I realised it was probably more appropriate for the conversation we were about to have.

"Someone offered to sign me today." I stated.

"No way!" Harry smiled, showing off his whitened teeth. I loved that smile.

"Yep." I popped the 'p'.

"What did you say?" he cheered.

"Nothing yet, I've got his business card in my purse."

"Can I see it?" he asked, still smiling. I nodded and grabbed it out of my purse, wiping his hands with a towel before so they wouldn't soak the card. It had survived all that rain, I wasn't going to ruin it now.

"Jack Bailey?!" he shouted in amazement.

"Yes?" why was he so excited? So shocked?

"He's big, Scarlett. Oh my god. You have to say yes! He only signs the best! How did this happen?" he yelled. He looked so happy for me. Aw.

"Perrie." I smirked.

"Of course."

"I think I'm gonna say yes." I spoke. He chucked the business card to one side and pulled me into the bath with him, ripping off my clothes. He reached over to a cupboard and grabbed out a packet. "Really Harry?" I giggled.

"You know it!" he chuckled.

and it was amazing, even better than the first time. I didn't want to let him go, ever.

A new chapter of my life began today.

It was going to be a good one.

When one door closes, another one opens.
