Spies Of Oak Hills ~Completed~

Chapter 48

Ariella’s POV:

The door swung open, revealing a young man, panting, as if he ran a marathon. He had dirty blond hair, and blue eyes, just as blue as Niall’s.

Niall.

Walter looked up to him and sighed angrily.

“What is it?” he raised his voice to the young man at the door, catching his breath.

“An aircraft just landed on the roof. The person you asked for is here.” He said, saluting his boss.

“Already? Why, they weren’t supposed to be here until late afternoon, that’s what they said to me, duration wise.” He said, astonished. The young man shrugged.

“Do you want me to hold them off until you are ready sir?” he asked Walter. He shook his head.

“No, no. That’s alright. The sooner the better I always say! Let ‘em in. I will be there in a minute.” Walter said, waving his hand in the air, dismissing him. The young man saluted Walter and walked out, closing the door behind him. “Well, Ms. Edwards, you are in for a special treat. Do you want to proceed with your thoughts or should I pin this discussion for now?” he asked me. I shook my head.

“Fine. Then, we will be on our way to meet our guest.” He opened a drawer in his desk that was hidden from me and pulled out hand cuffs. He opened them and with one swift movement he trapped my wrists in the metal, pinching my skin tightly. He pushed a button that was next to his lamp, and within seconds, two men came bursting into the room, saluting to Walter. They were much older than the first one that came in earlier. They were both bald, very toned, and wore dark glasses.

“Gents, take the girl here and follow me.” Walter said, getting up from his seat, discarding his cigarette. They nodded and walked over to me, lifting me up roughly by my arms, and following Walter out the door.

He reached into his trench coat and pulled out a pair of shades, covering his eyes. We walked through many hallways, past many doors, before finding an elevator. The elevator dinged, before opening its doors which were more like gates. We all piled in, the doors closing behind us. Walter pushed the highest button, which must have been the roof. The room began to rise, all you can hear was the machinery working, metal clashing against one another.

Soon I was able to hear a whirring sound, as we came closer to the roof. The temperature began to rise, and winds were blowing inside the room, cooling me down. Once we got to the top, I was able to connect the whirring sound to its origin. There, in the center of the roof was a helicopter. The doors opened, and Walter walked out first, the two men that held my arms followed in suit.

I couldn’t help but take in the fresh air that hit me once I stepped out. I looked around me, seeing the distance of the horizons, as mountains layered one another, fields of grass covering the land. Few trees were spotted, but the land around us was mostly mountains. The sun was set high above our heads, the source of the intense heat. I was able to hear seagulls, which made me think of an ocean. I listened closer and I was able to hear an ocean wave in the distance. If I didn’t know any better, I am on a disclosed island. The perfect hiding spot for a base of a large organization. Of course.

The wind from the helicopter slowly died down as Walter came closer to it. The men with their tight grips on my arms stood at the edge of the circle that was drawn on the floor. In the center laid the logo of Black Cove. Walter stood by the door to the helicopter, with an eager smile plastered on his sick face.

The door opened, and out came a person with a bag over their head, hands cuffed behind their back. Two men similar to the ones that held me, dragged the person out of the plane, pushing the person to their knees. Walter stood there with a happy face, and looked over to me with a pleased look. I rolled my eyes. At least I will have a companion. Walter signaled the men that carried the stranger and me to follow him back to the elevator. We walked in silence, as the stranger was being dragged on their feet, head hung low.

As we piled into the elevator once more, I listened to the stranger, and tried to hear any breathing. I heard a low moan, as the person began to shift in their place. The two men that held the person hardened their grip, which only awoken the person more. The person stood up fully and began to pull away from the men, but with no success.

“Release me, you brutes!” The person said. The voice became familiar, as I have not heard it in a while. I honestly wouldn’t have had thought that I would hear it again. It was a male.

“Oh, don’t worry, I will let you go once we arrive at the room.” Walter said to the masked man.

“Where are we going?” I asked Walter. The masked man stopped struggling.

“Ariella? Is that you?” he asked me. I nodded my head, but remembered that he cannot see me.

“Yes, it is.” I said. “Who are you? I recognize the voice, but cannot put it to a face.” I said. The two men shook me, tightening their grip on my arms, causing me to yell out in pain.

“Stop! Don’t hurt her!” The masked man said.

“I will do whatever I please. It doesn’t concern you.” Walter said while he scoffed.

“If it means hurting Ariella then it obviously means that it does concern me.” The elevator came to a halt, as the gated doors opened, and revealed a dusty hallway, with only one door, at the very end. This type of scenery is only seen in scary movies, and I have a feeling this is not going to end well.

“This, is where the truth shall be revealed.” Walter said, walking ahead, pulling out keys to unlock the door. We were dragged shortly behind him, and once the door opened, it revealed two chairs in the center, facing each other with a subtle amount of space between them. Enough for a person or two to walk by. A table next to the door had whips, guns, and many other torture weapons. I instantly felt a pang of fear go right though me. The man and I were placed in those chairs. They removed my jacket so I was now in my t-shirt and jeans. They tied me back to the chair, with a tighter knot in the back, so I wouldn’t escape this time, and the two men that have been dragging me, stood behind me, keeping watch as the man across from me suffered the same fate. I gasped as the bag was removed from his head.

“Father?!” I exclaimed. He stared at me with a face, saying ‘I’m sorry.’
