Carie's POV

We got the equipment together and got the van ready. The tension between Drake and Niall was so starting to become so thick you would need a chainsaw to cut through at least part of it. I honestly got jealous though. Having two guys like the same girl.

For her personality! Not because of her looks! God she is not a slut, unlike Brittney. Brittney has done almost every guy in the school except for Niall, Drake, Seth, Josh, and a couple other guys that were new. Yeah. She already got in the pants of the new guys here. Disgusting. Ariella is an amazing person and i feel very honored that i got to meet her first.

But what truly made me upset is that this guy Drake likes her too. Truth is, I like him. A lot. Ever since he walked into the cafeteria. I wish that the attention that she is getting from him is what he would give me. But doubt that it will happen. Today was probably the closest we have ever been. It makes me all happy inside.

Maybe I could have a chance with him.

Someday..

"Carriieee" Drake said, bringing me back to reality. I looked at him and he smiled at me. I blushed and looked away.

"Sorry. What?" Not wanting to make things awkward. I looked around and he and I were the only ones in the room.

"Come on. We are all heading out to the van. You blanked out.. You alright?" He asked taking the empty seat next to me his face mixing in concern.

"Uh y-yeah i was just thinking that's all" I said slightly smiling. Trying so hard right now not to blush. It's really, really, REALLY hard that I can't even BEGIN to explain.

"Oh, alright then. Penny for your thoughts?" He stuffed one of his hands into his pockets and pulled out a penny. I laughed at this action. He's so cute.

"You know you don't actually give the person a penny, right?" I asked him giggling. He smiled.

"I know that dummy-" he started as I shoved his shoulder with my hand playfully. He looked at me with a look that was mixed with shock, and fake hurt.. Which only made me laugh harder.

"How funny." I laughed again. Hoping now that he will drop the subject.

"Come on tell me what's up. I can tell when something's wrong." Nope didn't work. My heart fluttered when he said that. But I cant tell him I like him.

Yet.

So I came up with a good excuse.

(Its also true though. JUST SAYING. )

"I just miss Ari. She was my first friend here. And I was her first friend too. That's all." I shrugged. He sighed lightly.

"Don't worry, we will get her back from them. The plan that you majorly created is DEFINITELY going to work. Promise. We will bring her home from the Black Cove." He placed an arm around my shoulders bringing me into a tight embrace. I happily returned the gesture. I began to slightly blush.

"What do you mean by all of that? Are you saying Ariella Edwards, daughter of the Head Mistress of the school, is MISSING?! And.... whats going on here??" Which was then followed by a beep sound. We quickly backed away from each other and turned around to face where that voice came from behind us at the door. The person also had their phone pointed at us. She looked down at the screen and typed something.

Brittney..

"And sent..! Oops...I accidentally sent it to the entire school population!" She said, while grinning.

Shit.

You can already hear the commotion in the hallways about Ariella. Seconds later, a voice came over the intercom.

"Will Carie Gonzalez, Drake Johnson, and the rest of the gang surrounding the van parked outside the building please come in and see me in my office? NOW. Thank you." Head Mistress announced. She obviously found out. That's not good. At all. I looked over to Drake with the same scared face as mine.

We get up at the same time and walk out out of the library to already scared faces of the team. I stop at the door and turn to face the snitch.

"Tell Mrs. Edwards I said hello for me?" She grinned at me.

"Soon. All of this karma will return to you. One day Brittney. Payback is going to be one hell of a bitch." She looked at me shocked at my language but I left her at that. Drake looked shocked as well but then smirked at me.

We ended up finding the rest of the gang with the color drained from their faces in front of the office. We shared sad and scared glances and walked inside, soon to see the very furious Head Mistress, and the terrified and scared step-mother of the girl we are currently looking for.

God this chapter is so small I am so sorry.

But.. How many hate Brittney right now? She literally just delayed their rescue mission for Ariella for sure.. Or not..
