Wonder

Sarah's POV:

I finished telling Miles the whole story of what I had gone through with the boys. Finally I took a breath. "We'll Jeez." Was all he said, making me laugh. I guess so much for watching how much I tell him.

"Howd you end up here?" I asked, looking at him curiously. He looked off at the wall. "C'mon now." I urged, scooting closer to him, and jostling his shoulder.

"My family was all mortals. So of course the second they realized I had powers they flipped. I ran away because my powers were going stronger and I kept accidentally hurting people. I was 8 when I left. I found a town full of people like me. Monsters as some people call us. It didnt take long for people to realize I was different than most half vampires. I didnt have a chance fighting off Lyle. I was taken here and haven't been out since." He said.

He was 19. He had been here 11 years. "Im sorry." Was all I said. He sighed,"it's not all bad. Being here. They don't treat you badly. Just lock ya up except for training."

So it wouldn't b like the west gang. I wouldn't be abused. "Dont take that as a lets mouth off thing. You respect them they respect you." He finished.

I sighed. Suddenly there was noise outside the door. My eyes widened, and my heart beat rapidly. Miles grabbed my arm and looked me dead in the eyes.

"Don't mouth off to them." Was all he said before the door swung open. I began shaking as 3 figures entered the room. I grabbed hold of Miles' arm, trying to show no fear.

Lyle, James, and someone I didnt recognize crossed over to us. "I see you two have buddies up." Said Lyle, slyly grinning.

No fear. Show no fear.

"Yes we have." Said Miles calmly. I remained silent. "So Sarah. Finally awake are ya." Said Lyle staring down at me. I nodded, unable to form words.

"We'll Sarah its time for your first training session. Come with us." Said James grinning.

I didnt want to leave Miles! Miles gently pushed me to my feet. He squeezed my hand before releasing me. James grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the room after Lyle and the other guy.

The light hurt my eyes after being in Darknes so long. I squinted, and stumbled along as I was hurried through the halls. I heard yelling and screaming coming from another part of the building. I tried to block it out.

Finally we stopped at a door, and Lyle typed in a key code quickly so I didnt catch it. I was pushed into a dark room, pitch black. The door slammed behind me.

"Welcome to training Level 1," came a robotic voice. I pushed back against the wall, anxiously looking for anything. I was terrified.
