Stole My Heart

Luke’s P.O.V.

“Laurel. Laurel, wake up. Laurel, we’re back at the hotel.” I said shaking her gently. Laurel sat up and began glancing around with a quizzical look on her face. “We’re at the hotel,” I repeated and the confusion left her face. She still looked extremely tired and yawned quite a bit as we got out of the taxi. We had to wait for Nina, Heather, and the guys from One Direction to arrive so we all just hung out around the entrance.

“Are you all right?” I asked turning to Laurel who seemed to be drifting off.

“Hmm?” she asked. “Oh, I’m fine: just tired. I don’t make a habit of staying up past 4:00 in the morning. In this case however, I’m glad I did.”

We had to wait ten more minutes for the others to get here, but when they did Laurel had her eyes closed again. I smiled and sighed looking down at her. She looked so peaceful and adorable, I didn’t want to wake her, especially since we were going to be leaving at 6:30 tomorrow.

“Laurel,” I said shaking her shoulder gently.

She woke up immediately. “Oh, I’m so sorry about that!”

“It’s fine!” I laughed. Laurel smiled and blushed. “ Everyone else is here now. Let’s get up to our room before you fall asleep again.” Laurel nodded in agreement and after meeting up with the others went into the hotel. Once inside, we had to split up to get onto the elevator.

“You guys go, I don’t mind waiting.” Laurel offered.

“I’ll wait!” Niall and I both volunteered simultaneously, nearly a second after the words left Laurel’s lips. She looked back at us both quizzically but didn’t say anything.

“All right, I think that the rest of us can all fit,” Ashton said leading Sarah onto the elevator.

We waited for around two minutes for the elevator to come back down. “After you.” Niall said gesturing for Laurel to get on. It kind of annoyed me the way that he stared at her but I tried not to let on. I liked Niall, but right then the last person that I wanted Laurel and me to be on an elevator with was him.

“So, did you have a good time?” I asked Laurel, attempting to make things less awkward.

“It was absolutely amazing!” Laurel replied enthusiastically. “What about you two?”

“Yeah, I-“ I began but Niall cut me off.

“I had a fantastic time,” he said staring at Laurel again who seemed not to notice.

“It was great.” I said wishing we were off of the elevator.

When it finally stopped I was quick to take Laurel’s hand and lead her to her door but Niall followed. I let go of her hand when we reached her door. From the muffled voices coming from inside I could tell that the other girls were already back.

“Goodnight Laurel. I had a great time.” Niall said leaning down to kiss her on the cheek. She smiled and Niall walked off to his room.

“Thank you so much Luke! I had a wonderful time!” Laurel began taking my hand. ” You guys were fantastic!” But then she did something I did not expect – shestood on her toes and kissed me on my cheek.

I smiled and squeezed her hand, causing her to blush. “Any time.”

“Goodnight Luke. And thanks for everything.” She said before disappearing through the door.

I just stood there smiling and speechless, touching my cheek, stunned that she had kissed me.
