Stole My Heart

Nearly two months later...

Laurel's P. O. V.

I was sitting next to Luke once again on a plane headed for Europe. We had spent almost and hour talking about the different bands that we liked and how we should go and see them together after the tour was over.

After a few moments of silence Luke looked me in the eyes. "Laurel", he said. "There's something I've been meaning to tell you for a week now. I just wasn't sure how..." He looked down and started playing with his hands almost nervously.

"Luke?" I asked taking one of his hands. "Is everything all right?"

"It's my mom," he replied still not meeting my eyes. She's sick and I have to go back to Australia to be with her and my family. I don't know when I'll be coming back."

"Oh Luke," I said, genuinely concerned and upset. "I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I understand why you have to go and I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too." Luke replied squeezing my hand. "The other guys will stay on tour. Are you sure you'll be all right without me?"

"I'll be fine. Don't worry about me. You need to be there for your family right now." I said looking away. I couldn't help feeling a twinge of disappointment at the thought of Luke leaving but I immediately felt guilty and pushed the feeling aside. "When will you be leaving?"

"After the concert tonight."

"Oh," I said a bit surprised. "That soon..."

"Hey" he said putting his arm around me, "I'll be back before you know it."
