Hanging By A Moment

Samantha's POV:
Anna and I arrived in LA and drove straight to the hotel before we could run into any media. Anna went straight to bed but I wasn't so sleepy so I stayed up and watched TV. I wanted to call Harry but with the time difference he would be fast asleep by now, or maybe not. Momentarily, my phone started to ring and I smiled when his photo came up. 'Hello' I answered in an ecstatic voice. 'Hey princess' he replied in his angelic voice. 'Harry, it's 3am there, why are you awake?' I asked. 'I wanted to hear your voice, knowing by now you would have switch your phone on' he replied. I've been in LA for less than an hour and his managed to call me already. 'Well it's good to hear your voice too' I smiled to myself. 'So, how was your date?' I asked remembering he was on a date while I was on my flight. 'Niall had a date with this little girl and he took her to like 5 different food place' he chuckled and I laughed softly knowing Niall. 'And then Louis got a little boy for his date so they went out and played football all day' he told me. 'Harry, I asked how YOUR date was not everyone else's' I clarified. 'Babe, there's nothing to talk about' he whined. I didn't reply knowing soon enough he would give in and give me an answer.


'Alright, fine' he gave in. 'She reminded me a lot like you, which is why it was really awwkkward' he began. 'Same hair colour, same perfume, lipgloss' he continued. 'But she knew about you. She knew that we were together' he added. 'Oh okay' I was relaxed by now. 'Babe, do you wanna sleep, you must be tired' he said. 'Harry, I should be saying that to you. It's 3 in the morning there' I chuckled. 'Well I can't sleep. Our bed is too big for one person' he argued. 'I can't sleep either' I admitted. 'Can you sing to me on the phone?' I ask. 'Naww, sure. What song?' he asked. 'Stevie Wonder' I replied. He voice was so soothing to my ears as I felt my eyelids started to close.

'Did you talk to Harry last night?' Anna asked as pulled over at the venue for auditions. 'Yeah' I smiled at her. There was a massive turn out for auditions. The driver opened the door and I was greeted by a familiar scene. I walked down the aisle as people waved and greeted me. I'd miss this work setting, I really. Anna ushered me inside the building were the other judges were. 'Welcome back' Simon hugged me. 'LA has missed you' LA stated a double entendre. 'Sammmieee!' I heard Demi yell as she ran up to me. 'Hey Dem' I hugged her. 'Come on lets get this show started' Simon led us to the main arena.'So, look's like he isn't really letting you go' Demi chuckled as we walked linking arms. 'Girl you've got 'Harry's property' marked on you' she pointed at the H necklace Harry gave me. I rolled my eyes at her comment.

I took a seat on the familiar judge's table and watched hundred's of people audition. There were incredible singers and not so great singers as well. There were some who amazed us by their vocal range, while at times you had to cover your ear as people tried to sing outside their range. 'No' Simon announced. 'It's a no' LA chuckled. 'Nah ah' Demi uttered. 'Sorry it's a no' I apologised.

'Hi boys' Simon greeted as a group of boys came on stage. 'What are your names?' Demi asked eagerly. The tall blonde one spoke 'I'm Louis, this is Liam,Zayn,Harry and Niall' the audience roared in laughter.'Can we see your birth certificate?' Demi cheekily asked and the boys themself laugh. 'Alright were ready when you are' LA motioned for them to begin. 'Kiss you' started to played and the crowd cheered to the boy's song option. The boy with orange hair lead the song and the audience sang along. Simon covered his face with his hand shaking his head while LA tried to contain his laughter. Demi tilted her head back surprised by the voices, the singing wasn't that great. LA put up his hand and the music stopped. The crowd cheered and clapped. Simon began to talk 'That was so bad, so bad, I just wanted to hear the original' the audience laughed. 'But the crowd like it, everyone was having a good time' a boy argued on the mic. 'I think they liked it because it was a one direction song' Demi corrected him. 'Sammie, what do you think' LA turned to me. 'I already have a boyband, sorry It's a no' I hated rejecting contestants. 'It's a no for me as well' Demi said. 'Nope' Simon spoke. 'Sorry lads' LA said and they left the stage.

'Hi Sammie, I love you so much' a queer guy came on stage. 'Oh, thank you' I smiled at his compliment. The guy sang 'Toxic' and the dance to the beat of the song. Apart from the song being catchy, there was nothing great about the singing.



'I think your intoxicated, it's a No' Demi giggled. Simon asked for my answer and before I can utter a word I let out a sneeze. 'Well looks like its a no for Sammie' Simon chuckled and so did the audience. 'Thank God Britney wasn't here, it's a no mate' LA answered. 'Other than the lyric, it wasn't remotely like Britney spears' Simon uttered and the guy left empty handed.

'Hi, what's your name?' Demi asked a boy came on stage. 'James' he replied. 'What are you going to sing for us?' I asked. 'Impossible by shontelle' he replied. Music started to play and the boy started singing in a soft voice. Gradually he build up his voice and the crowd clapped as he sang his heart out. He got a standing ovation from us judges as he kept registering to a higher and higher pitch. The crowd applauded him as the music faded. 'James, how old are you man?' LA asked. '21' he replied. 'Why did you enter for X-factor?' I asked. He tilted his head up as he tried to hold back his tears. He took a deep breath and spoke on his mic. 'My parent's died a year ago..' he paused. 'And I'm trying to do my best to support my little sister' he started to wept. I felt my eyes start to get watery and a tear rolled down my cheek. 'What's the first thing your going to do when you win?' Simon asked. 'I would love to take my sister to a one direction concert, she really loves them' James smiled. 'Is your sister here with you?' I asked wiping my tears away.

He went backstage and brought with him a little girl holding a teddy bear. 'Hi sweetie, what's your name?' I smiled at her. 'Ava' she replied shyly on the mic. 'Who's your favourite one direction boy?' I asked. She looked up at her brother with a smile before answering. 'Ha-rry' she said. 'Awwwwwwwww' the crowd chorused. This was one girl I didn't mind sharing Harry with. 'Well, Ava guess what, you're going to go to a one direction concert' I offered to pay for her ticket and she gasped in shocked and hugged her brother. The girl ran off stage towards me. 'Thank you' she hugged me . 'That's okay' I rubbed her back. 'Well James, looks like your both leaving this place with a smile, it's a yes for me' LA gave him his vote. 'It's a yes as well' Demi smiled. 'Of course, yes' Simon told him.

That night I called Harry and told him about Ava . 'Babe, your so nice' he aaww'd on the phone. 'Thanks, anyway how come your still awake it's 3?' I asked conscience of the time in London. 'Err I can't sleep' he replied. 'Do you want me to sing you Stevie Wonder again?' he offered. 'Oh okay sure' I replied. Hearing Harry talk was something I wouldn't hold back on hearing, but hearing him sing was way too irresistible.
