You Only Find Love Once

Michaela's POV

"Where are the books again?"
"In the wooden cupboard under the TV"
"Oh got them. Thanks"
As i walked back into the living room where me and Niall was looking at some old photo albums of us when we was younger, I saw that Niall was wrapped up in the blanket that we always used to share.
"What you got that on for?"
"Because we always used it, why not use it now?"
"Because its to small for us both"
"Sit on my lap then"
"Don't think so, last time you attacked me with tiggles" I laughed.
"So?"
"So, I'm not sitting on your lap" I shook my head and pulled another blanket form behind the other sofa. I sat down on the floor in front of the sofa and grabbed a pillow.
As i grabbed it Niall wasn't on the sofa. I turned back round to see him laying next to me.
"You moved quick"
"I didn't want you to feel lonely on the floor"
"Thanks" I smiled.
I opened the photo album and saw the first page was when we was really young.
It was of me and Niall in a crib together sleeping. Aw we looked so cute.
After turning a couple pages memories started to flood back to me

Flashback - 15 Years Old

"Come on Mickey"
"No, the sea is to cold" I whined.
"The sea in Mullingar is cold, the sea in Spain is really warm"
"How do i know your not lying?"
"I would never lie to you, please just come in" Niall whined.
"Fine" i huffed and started to walk into the sea.
Niall was right, the sea is warm.
"See told you" he smirked.
"Fair enough" I smiled.
I finally got face to face with Niall and then he just smirked looking down at me.
"What's so funny?" I asked, raising a eyebrow.
"This" and then he splashed water all over me.
"Niall" I screamed.
I opened my eyes to Niall in a hysterical fit of laughter.
"That was not funny" I pouted.
"Yes it was"
"It isn't so funny now, is it?" I smirked and splashed even more water over him.
"That's it" he laughed and tackled me into the sea.
We was under water pushing each other about, knowing that we wouldn't hurt each other.
We rose from the water and we was still laughing.
"I need to get out, my hands are getting wrinkly" Niall huffed and started to walk out the sea.
"Wait I'll come with you" shouted catching up to him.
We sat down on the towels next to out parents towels.
"Lay on my towel with me"
"Why?"
"Because your my best friend and i love you" Niall smiled pulling me onto his towel.
"You could of just pulled me on your towel anyway, i wouldn't of mind"
"I just wanted to make sure"
"Thanks" I smiled and dug my face into his chest.

Wow, i cant just remember how close me and Niall when we was younger.
I turned some more pages and even more old memories started to come back to me

Flashback - 9 Years Old

"Mickey let me in" Niall said banging on my bedroom door.
"No, go away" I shouted
"You know that isn't going to happen"
"Well I'm not opening the door"
"Please?"
"No" I snapped with my stubbornness showing.
"Fine then" He said and i heard footsteps leaving the outside of my door.
Niall just left me, maybe he didn't care about me either.
Recently i have been getting bullied in school because every blamed me for killing the schools rabbit. Other kids was calling me names and pushing me about. Everyone was ignoring me and Niall just walked out. Maybe the other kids brainwashed Niall into thinking i did kill the rabbit when i didn't. It was Rebecca, i saw her do it, she over fed him and blamed it on me.
Rebecca had a crush on Niall and all the girls in the school knew about it. I told Niall about it and he said he couldn't go out with her anyway.
Because i am best friends with Niall, she got jealous and started to pick on me.
"Hey" i heard and saw Niall standing at the edge of the window. He jumped form the edge onto my bedroom floor.
"Did you climb up the tree?"
"Yeah" he laughed.
"You didn't have to"
"Well i wanted too, I wouldn't leave my best friend upset like this" He smiled and walked over to me.
"Why aren't you picking on me like the rest if the kids?"
"Because the rest of the kids aren't your best friends, I am and i won't let stinky kids like them hurt you"
"Thank you" I quivered and started to cry.
"Please don't cry, i don't like it" He said and gave me a tight hug.
He picked me up in a weird position and chucked me on my bed.
I was surprised by Niall's strength.
I was really crying now and Niall lifted the cover up and put it over my body.
He climbed in bed with me and put me in a tight hug again.
"Please stop crying, I won't let anyone hurt you or say anything bad towards you"
"Promise?"
"Promise" he smiled and kissed the top of my head.

I can remember how protective Niall was over me.
He always fought my battles.
Boyfriends, bullies, anyone.
I always did the same back to him. I didn't like seeing dickheads be so spiteful to Niall.

Flashback - 16 Years Old

I was laying in bed alone, listening to the thunder outside of my house.
Every time the thunder struck i let out a scream in terror.
I hated thunder and lightning. I pulled the cover over my face. I heard bangs on my door down stairs. Dammit, i had to answer it, my parents was both at work, not finishing until late and my brother was at his girlfriends house.
I pulled on my silk night gown and headed down stairs.
I know a silk night gown wasn't something you should wear when opening a front door but literally i had nothing else to wear, unless i wore a towel.
I hid behind the door and opened in to a figure all in black the person looked up and saw Niall. He had a black coat on that was soaking wet from the rain.
"Niall" i screamed and jumped on him.
Ew now I'm wet.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"What do you think?"
"I'm guessing scared to death?"
"Yep" i said pulling away from the hug. "Let's get you out of these wet clothes" i said and closed the door.
"Have you got company?"
"No why?"
"Your wearing a night gown that looks like something a bond girl would wear in the movies" he chuckled. Oh shit.
"Oh no, it's just i had nothing else to wear"
"I'm guessing that they are in the wash?"
"Yeah"
I took Niall upstairs to get him dry.
"Here you go" i smiled handing him some pyjamas that he leaves here for when he stays here.
"I'm guessing you want me to stay then?"
"Duh that's why i am giving you the pyjamas"
"Alright" he said leaving my room to get changed.
No way am i sleeping alone. I would of waited for my parents to come home then sleep with them.

"Woah" I heard and turned round to see Niall shirtless, Oh my god its like porm.
"I know, I'm sorry, if i knew you was coming i would of dried my other pyjamas with my hairdryer, I'm really sorry, if you want to sleep in the guest room you can" I offered with my face turning a dark shade of red.
"Why would i leave you? I wouldn't be doing a good job of being a best friend would i?"
"Sorry"
"Come on, lets get in bed" He smirked for some reason and got in my bed.
I laid down next to him and dug my face into he's chest and curled up in a ball.
He wrapped he's arms around my body and let me feel safe in his arms.
I shivered as i heard another loud bang of thunder.
"Shhh shhh it's okay" he hushed and let me fall asleep

Embarrassing memory much.
That night was so embarrassing for me, especially when my parents came home.
I looked ever at Niall sipping his cup of tea. Aw he's so cute.
I looked through so more of the book and then i had a image of Niall and me at prom. Got to get that out my head, my feelings for him are strong enough i don't need them getting stronger.

Niall's POV

I looked over at Michaela and she was quietly laughing to herself, looking at the photo album. She looked so happy. I looked back into the books and had another flashback.

Flashback - 16 Years Old

"Mum when is Michaela coming?"
"In a minute"
"Ugh, I want someone to play with"
"Play with someone else"
"If i play with one of the other boys Michaela would be lonely and sad, i don't want to see her sad"
"Honey, one day you will realise how much you love her"
"Niall" i heard and then saw Michaela.
She walked over to the edge of the pool and all the boys got a good view of her standing in her bikini. All the boys was staring at her.
She dived in and rose from the water with a smile on her face.
"What you so happy about?"
"The fact that you have your jealous face on" she giggled getting closer to me.
"What? I'm not jealous" I nervously laughed.
"Oh yes you are" she smiled. "I saw you glaring at the boys that was staring at me"
"Oh that, i was just um nothing"
"You don't have to worry about me, even if they did start to flirt with me, i would have you to scare them off" she laughed.
"Whatever"
"What don't act like you wouldn't do it, you have been doing it since i got my first boyfriend"
"I just don't think that any of them are right for you"

Wow, i probably looked like a dick that day.
I always was over protective over Michaela. She was so delicate i didn't want anyone to break her heart.

Flashback - 16 Years Old

"Where the fuck is he?"
"Niall calm down, i don't care what he did" Michaela said trying to hold me back.
"Well i do, nobody hurts you" i growled.
"Niall please"
"Where is he?" i shouted, getting out her grip and running down the street.
"Niall wait" i heard Michaela shout but i wasn't going to listen.
How dare he cheat on her, my princess. He shouldn't of been going out with her anyway.
I will fucking kill this prick.
I saw him up ahead talking to a girl.
Moved on already, what a man whore.
"Dickhead" i shouted slowing down, now walking to him.
"Look who it is, its the guard dog to the dog i just dumped.
"Don't you fucking dare call her that" i said and lunged to him, i punch him in the jaw sending him to the ground.
"Go anywhere near her again, i will wreck you"
"Fuck off mate" he said getting up.
"No! you fuck off" i said punching him multiple times in the face.
He collapsed to the ground with blood all over he's face.
"Niall" i heard and turned to see Michaela standing in shock.
She ran into my arms and started to cry.
"Niall you didn't have to do that"
"I promised you when we was seven that i will always protect you, I'm not going to break that promise"
"Thank you, now please come back to mine so i can clean you up" she smiled referring to my hands that had blood over them.
"Okay lets go"

Maybe i went a bit over the top when it came to Michaela having a boyfriend.
I just didn't like seeing her hurt and what ever hurt her i would hurt it back.
I wish i could of treated Michaela how she should of been treated. With respect and should of been spoilt. I would of took her on romantic dates and would never let her out my sight, i always want to see her beautiful face.

Flashback - 8 Years Old

"What's that you making?" my mum asked.
"A valentines day card"
"Who's it for?"
"Michaela"
"Aw Niall that's really sweet of you she will love it" My mum smiled and rubbed my back.
"Greg?"
"Yeah"
"Can you help me please"
"What's up?"

"Bro, she will love it" He smiled.
"Thanks" i said getting up form the table. "Mum can i go give this to Michaela now?"
"Course honey"
I put my coat on a grabbed the card and heart shaped cookies and went over to Michaela's house.
I knocked on the door and her mum dad answered.
"Hey Niall, do you want Michaela?"
"Yeah please"
"K bud" he said and shouted to Michaela form her from.
"Hi Niall" she smiled.
"Um i want to give you these" i said and gave her the card and cookies.
"Niall, thank you so much" she smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Its okay" i blushed.
"I'm sorry i dint get you anything" she said in a sad voice.
"All i needed was that kiss on the cheek from you"
"Thank you"
"So ... Will you be my valentine?"
"Yes" she smiled and gave me a hug.

End Of Flashback

I was so stupid back then.
I looked at Michaela who was asleep.
I smiled to myself looking at the beautiful girl in front of me.
I picked her up bridal style and carried her to bed.
I placed her down not even putting the cover over her, the only thing i wanted keeping her warm was me.
I wrapped my arms around her and just drifted off into sleep.

So i finally updated after it took a while for you all to realise that i wouldn't update till i got 35 vote. I mean come on girls it isn't that hard to vote.
