Liam’s pov

My head hurt, I felt groggy my side still had the familiar tingle-but isn’t that bad. I tried to turn my head but the pain made it throb I made a groaning sound. I could wiggle my toes but I couldn’t do much else.

Move your arm I told myself
and it didn’t work,

your hand?
Nothing happened

fingers?
I pleaded, still nothing

I felt someone sit beside me on my left side and put a warm smooth, small hand on my right cheek.

I felt lips on my chin, just below my lips.

“Liam” she whispered “please come back to me”

One final command,

Eyes: open your eyes- for her.

And I did.

Scarlett’s Pov

I still had my hand on his cheek, running my thumb over the stubble there. Even in his delicate state he was beautiful. I needed him to come back. I love him.

Flashback- a day ago.

“Scarlett” Niall muttered as he sat beside me.

“Yeah” I said

“Do you love him? Liam I mean?” He asked softly

I looked up at him “I won’t tell” he said

“Yes,” I muttered, “I love him.”

Niall smiled sadly “He loves you. You know that right? He always did. He carried you into your tent the night you and Hades cried. He wouldn’t let anyone touch you. He really loves you Scar”

I looked down at Liam; his skin was fair and his lips pale. “Now I know that, I wish I’d known earlier, I guessed when he said that three days ago I knew I felt it and I thought he did but I wasn’t sure he makes me feel. But when he said it when he said ‘Like the world falls away? like no one else is there but you and him? No walkers, no ground, like your floating in a cloud? Safe?’ I knew I just knew”

End of Flashback

“I just knew” I whispered as my eyes focused on him

and the his eyes opened.

“Liam?!?!” I gasped, “oh go Liam!”

“Scar-lett?” his voice cracked

“I’m here Liam” I whispered tears clouding my vision “I know, I love you too”

Liam’s pov

I looked up at her tears clouded her eyes “you need water” she gasped grabbing the canteen. She put her hand under my head and neck and helped me into a seated position.

“Thanks” I said raspy as I greedily drank the water.

“Take this” she whispered handing me a pill “for the infection”

I nodded and drank the pill. “What happened?”

I asked as she fluffed the pillows. “ I should be asking you that.”

I looked at her

“Fine,” she said, “What do you remember?”

“We all got back from Costco, we sat down, Haz went to get the traps and we started talking, then we were going to put the tents up and I don’t remember much after that…” he said

“You fainted, hit your head on the rock and you were bleeding out Liam” she said “You scared us all”

“How long?” I asked

“Four days” she said “we kept you hydrated with this” she flicked a bad that was connected to my arm by an I.V. “and sorry about your shirt that kinda just had to come off fast, I was doing a check”

“ Nick was in medicine too” she shrugged “what happened to you Liam?”

“We were escaping from the downtown building and part of it collapsed on me. Harry tried to stitch me up. When we ran from the zombies in Costco it tore open I had kept it covered with my jacket.”

“you should have said something” she whispered

“Scarlett…” I said

“We could have lost you, I could have lost you” she said tears clouding her blue eyes

I sat up and kissed her “you brought me back”
