I Understand. An AU/punk story.

"Yeah actually, I just did. What the fuck are you going to do about it?!" Angela spits back.

"You guys!" I interject. I didn't not need this. I do not need this. No NO NO.

"Nothing for now, you little troll doll!" Perri hisses back, putting her little arms to use by shoving Angela back who knocks in to Mariah.

"Perri!" I yell at her, hysteria creeping in to my voice.

"Don't you fucking touch her, bitch!" Mariah yells, taking her push at Perri who bumps in to Lauren.

"WHY DON"T YOU NOT TOUCH HER?!" Lauren is seething by this point and screams right in to Mariah's face. Rae and Beth both jump back, being the more petite ones of the group and not big fans of fighting unlike the others.

"YOU GUYS STOP!" I yell, grabbing Lauren's shoulder and pulling her from Mariah, for Mariah's sake. I knew how hard Lauren hit form personal experience... not pleasant.c

"You need to take step back, whore! I know what you did to Beth and if Lily wasn't here you would be fucking on the ground, so don't push your limits with me!" Angela hisses at Perri who keeps shoving her lightly, egging her on to hit.

I shove myself between them, and put my hands up.

"ENOUGH!"

Lauren grabs my wrist and pulls me back, allowing the yelling match to continue. People have cleared a thirty foot radius around us. They knew what types of girls we were and they knew who we dated. No one was going to try to break it up.

"What I did to her?! She's the one who volunteered to rat out Lily so get your shit straight!" Perri counters with a mean laugh.

Now I'm confused.

"Before or after Harry left bruises on her arm!?" Angela hisses back, I turn around to a sheepish Beth.

Was Beth sleeping with him? Did they know about it? Did everyone know about it but me!?

I suddenly felt like I was going to be sick.

I couldn't be here.

I couldn't do this.

He could be with whatever woman he wanted to be with.

Next thing I know I'm turning on my heel and speed walking away. A few of them call after me but I just shake my head and dash off in the opposite direction. When I get far enough away I take out my cell phone.

To:Louis(:

Can you please come get me from the mall??

I sit on a bench out front behind some of the shrubbery so the girls wont find me. After a few minutes my phone buzzes, bringing me back from earth.

From:Louis(:

Of course, babe. Be there in a few minutes.

I smile down at the text. My ego was still bruised from the rejection just the other night but Louis always made it up to me one way or another....

Ten minutes later he rolled up and I quickly scurried to the car and leaned down in my seat.

"Where are the girls?" He asks, clearly confused by my escape plan. I groan and rub my temples.

"We ran in to Perri, Lauren and Rae..." I mumble as we drive off.

"Oh.."

"They all started screaming at each other and talking about things that made no sense... stuff about Beth.. and him.." I tell Louis, looking over at him in the car, wanting someone to tell me something.

He instantly grows rigid and uncomfortable in his seat, shifting awkwardly, running a hand through his light brown hair.

"Do you know anything about that?" I ask softly, not liking his reaction one bit.

"No. But I know him and Beth aren't a thing so no need to be jealous." He snaps, pulling in to the driveway. What? I turn to him in the car but he ignores me and gets out. Jealous? I wasn't jealous... I had no reason to be....

I follow him in to the house and he plops down on the couch, putting his arms out on either side of the back of it and leaning his head back, closing his pretty eyes with a big sigh. I perch next to him, crossing my ankles underneath me.

"What do you mean jealous?" I ask him quietly. One of his eyes peeks open at me and he leans forward, putting his elbows on his knees.

"Nothing, forget I said that." he huffs.

"But I -"

"Listen I don't want to talk about you and him, I wan't to talk about you and I." He finally announces, turning to me and scooting back one of his long arms wraps around my waist and the other drapes over the back of the couch behind me. The arm over my hips constricts, pulling our chests together.

My heart beats a like crazy and my body goes limp next to his, my lightly shaking hands land on his shoulders and my eyes bulging out my head as he looks down at me.

"W-what?" I whimper. He nods and a light smile tugs his pink lips.

"I mean last night?" His gaze is so intense that I want to look away but don't think I can.

"That was nothing..." I breathe, embarrassment flooding my cheeks.

"Yes it was. Don't lie to me." He pleads, pulling me even closer to him. I shrug and frown up at him.

"You thought it was nothing.." I say gravely, surprising myself by dropping my head on his shoulder and leaning in to his neck. His hand rubs soothingly up and down my back, squeezing my side lightly every few second.

"No I didn't!" He pulls my face back so I'm forced to look at him.

"Yes you did. You rejected me!" I pout, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Yes because I don't want our first time to be when your absolutely wasted!"

Oh...

That does make sense...

"Oh.." I breathe as he drops his forehead on mine, brushing a piece of hair away.

"Yeah. I wan't to. Obviously. So much." He chuckles showing a big smile. I blush again and push my forehead in to his.

"Well. I didn't want to just because I was drunk you know." I say timidly.

"You want to?" he says, a huge smile erupting on to his face as he dips his head down and slides the bridge of his nose along my jaw bone making my heart flutter and my eyes close as his breath fans my neck, making me shiver.

"I -I.."

Did I want to be with Louis?

Was I ready?

This was huge...

What would he think....?

He was with Beth.

He doesn't want you.

He never did.

Louis's hands intertwine mine.

He's perfect. he's one of very few men who want you.

You love him.

I take nudge his head up with mine and answer him by simply pressing his soft lips to mine.

He kisses back right away, putting each hand on my hip, pulling us even closer together. Shivers and butterflies fly through me as his mouth works against mine. My hands find their way to his hair, wrapping my fingers in to them.

I want him.

I need him.

I kiss him harder and he pulls me on to his lap, wrapping my legs around him. He releases a groan and pulls my back int o him harder, fisting my long hair as I gently bite his bottom lip.

We brake away after what feels like hours later to gasp for air.

"Louis.." I breathe. He smiles at my red cheeks.

"You're damn cute, Lily." He breathes. I giggle and drop my head in to his shoulder, hiding my flush. He laughs and drops us on to our sides with my head still buried in his neck and my legs still tight around him. "Are you sure you're OK... with being with someone else?" He interrupts the silence and I lay my head on his chest, listening to the pounding of his heart. I feel weird about the question in the air and what it does to the atmosphere.

"I... I wouldn't ever chose you over him." I start, pulling back to look at him. He frowns and nods, wanting me to continue. "That being said.. he meant a lot to me. And I would be lying if I said he still doesn't." I take my finger and gently trace his lips, his kisses my finger tip as I trace down his lips and along his strong jaw bone. "But he hurt me. And sometimes I still hurt. And he didn't even fight for me... and that hurts. But I wan't to move on." I stress, his hands pull me tighter. "But I don't want you to think you're a rebound because you're not. I want to be with you. I - I love you. And we both know that..."

I snap my mouth shut.

Did I just say that?

All of that?

Was it true?

Could I ever be over him?

A part of me says not a chance in hell

while the other roots Louis and I on.

"I love you, Lily."

"I love you, Louis."
