To Fall So Deep

Ain't No Party Like A Niall Horan Party!

Friday evening arrived and Nina was more than anxious for what the nightlife would bring her. Ashford's football team was doing amazing, and with only one loss out of five games so far, there wasn't a better way to celebrate than to party. Niall invited the majority of the school to the mansion he lived in when his parents decided to take a weekend off in Paris. It was the talk of the school for the entire week, and when Friday finally rolled around, everyone was more than hyped for the turn up. Nina was nervous though. The last time she went to a party in a mansion, she came home to tragedy. This time however, she would be with Robbie, Leina, and Elissia-- a step further than her ex-BFF Joleen. Who knows, maybe she could actually have fun?

"You won't be alone, right?" Leo repeated at the dinner table.

"Yes, I promise," Nina assured. "Leina and Elissia will pick me up at 9 o'clock and they'll be with me the whole time, along with Robbie. I won't stay out too late, and I promise no crazy shenanigans."

"It's not Robbie, Leina, or Elissia I'm worried about. It's the other kids there. One wrong move, and the Styles campaign will construe the truth and turn it into chaos," Leo explained.

"I won't do anything that will make you look bad Tatay," Nina reassured. Corrine rubbed Leo's hand,

"Honey, I think you should let her go. She's got three trustworthy friends with her, and besides, this party is going to be sick… I mean, from what I'm told."

Kathleen bursted into laughter, almost spitting out her juice, "did she just say…"

"Yea, she did," Nina confirmed, a smile forming on her lips.

"Sick?" Leo looked at Corrine, clearly confused, "is that bad?"

"Get with it Leo. Sick means awesome," Corrine informed. She moved her arms in the air in a way that mimicked a rap video. This prim and proper British woman was serious in trying to win over Nina-- and it was working.

"See Tay! Even Corrine knows what's going on," Nina expressed. Leo looked at Nina, then to Corrine who nodded her head in approval.

"Okay," Leo sighed, "you can go."

Nina squealed in excitement as she jumped out of her chair. She hopped to her father's side and hugged him tight, "thank you so much Tay! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"Just promise me you won't get drunk, no drugs, and that you'll be home by midnight?" Leo laid down the rules.

"Yes, I promise. I'll have my phone with me at all times, and I'll check in," Nina gave her father a kiss on the cheek, and proceeded to her room.

"I'll lay out some extra blankets and pillows in your room later," Corrine added, making Nina stop walking. She turned around to look as Corrine continued, "in case Elissia and Leina are too tired to drive home, and want to spend the night."

Nina smiled, feeling guilty for how she treated Corrine in the past. All she wanted to do was help, and even when Nina tried to push her away, Corrine was still there. Nina walked over to Corrine and gave her a big hug. She tensed up for a moment, surprised at the gesture, but with a smile, she hugged her back.

"Thank you. For everything," Nina breathed. They separated, and Nina retreated back to her room.

Fresh out of the shower, Nina stood in front of her closet with the towel wrapped around her body. This was not just her first party in months, but her first party here in Ashford. She wanted to impress her classmates, and show them that she wasn't just some academically-inclined shy girl. They called her 'California' and now it was her chance to show them what it meant to bring the palm trees to England.

At around nine, Nina's phone chimed. A text from Leina popped onto her screen letting her know that she and Elissia were outside waiting in the car. She grabbed her purse, turned off the light and made her way downstairs. She caught the attention of Leo, Corrine, and Kathleen who were in the living room watching a recorded episode of The Voice. All their eyes widened-- Leo's the only one who had disapproval etched into them.

"Ate! You look hot!" Kathleen exclaimed, jumping from her place on the couch to get a better look at her sister's outfit: a strapless floral bustier cropped top, a black high waisted skater skirt, black thigh-high socks, black ankle booties with a thick heel, and an oversized cardigan completed the look.

"Really? I look okay?" Nina looked for an assurance. She hadn't been out-out in such a long time, and often turned to Joleen for advice about style. If there was one thing she didn't regret about having Joleen as a friend, it was her constant tips about fashion, makeup, and hair that really filtered into Nina's system. Now that she was thousands of miles away from her, it was time for Joleen's little fashion protégée to take flight on her own.

"Nina," Corrine breathed, taking her by the hand and spinning her around, "you look beautiful. And your hair is stunning."

Nina's long hair was down, and with minimal heat was able to achieve loose curls, "so I look good?"

"Too good," Leo jumped in. "Are you sure you aren't too dressed up for the party? Don't you want to go in something more casual?"

"Like what Tay? Jeans and a turtle neck?" Kathleen interjected. "Ate Nina looks freaking sexy! Even her makeup is done. And I mean really, really done! Is that shimmer on your eyelids?"

"Yea. I pulled out all my makeup that I've had in the back of my closet since moving here," Nina informed with a grin. She heard a chime coming from her hand. She looked down at her phone; another text from Leina. "I gotta go! I'll see you later."

"Have fun!" Kathleen and Corrine said at the same time.

"Be safe!" Leo yelled, as Nina ran out the front door.

Inside a black Lexus were Leina and Elissia, whose jaws dropped the moment they saw Nina step outside. Leina stuck her head out the window,

"Woo! Sexy lady! Can I get your numba!"

"Hey girl, what 'chu doing later? How 'bout some sexy time?" Elissia joined in on the cat-calling from the passenger seat. Nina laughed at her friends as she hopped into the car.

"Dude, you look fucking fantastic!" Leina proclaimed, turning in her seat to look at Nina. "Lez be honest, I would totally tap that."

"Leina, stop!" Nina cried out, feeling her cheeks start to flush, "you're making me blush!"

"Blush away girly," Elissia giggled. "You clean up good. Can we get to this party? So all of Ashford Academy can see this hot piece of ass!"

"Maybe I should've just listened to my dad and worn a turtle neck," Nina sarcastically spoke. Both Leina and Elissia whipped their heads around and glared at Nina with a death stare.

"The fuck? Why? You look gorgeous and it's time you accept that," Leina uttered and turned back to the face the wheel.

"Harry's totally going to notice you," Elissia added, a mischievous tone to her voice, and winking at Nina.

The Horan mansion was ten minutes away in a gated subdivision. He lived in a corner house, and one of the largest on the block. Cars lined the large drive way and against the curb up and down the streets. Leina parked her car down the block, and after final lipstick touchups, the girls exited the car. Nina was just as amazed by Leina and Elissia's transformation as they were of hers. Both girls rocked pin straight hair, and styled outfits that like they came off of Pinterest. Together, the trio walked towards the blaring music.

It was exactly like Melanie Delaurentiis' party when Nina walked into the enormous house. The majority of Ashford's upperclassmen out of their uniforms filled the house to the brim. Plastic cups, the smell of marijuana, horny teens, and drunk assholes furnished the Friday night affair. As they walked through the grandiose foyer, their peers gazed at them, not once, but twice-- a double take when their eyes landed on Nina who did not look like Nina. She both liked the attention, and felt awkward about it. She wanted to impress her peers, but never expected this attention.

"Hey! You guys made it! And damn, if your looks could kill, every single one of us would be dead right now. You three look beautiful. Nina, unrecognizable," Niall professed. The three girls gave Niall a giant group hug, thanking him for his kind words. It was official: Niall was definitely one of the sweetest boys from Ashford Academy. "Follow me to the kitchen. I'll get you ladies some drinks!"

Once in the kitchen, the girls were greeted by several of their classmates. Nina looked around, and spotted the rest of the wolf pack, all but Harry. She wondered where he was, and concluded that he was probably off somewhere with Jezabelle. Niall poured spiced rum, coke, and ice into the cups and handed them to the girls. They took a sip, and were pleased by the taste-- the coke really cutting the taste of the alcohol. It wasn't Nina's first sip of alcohol before, but she knew what too much alcohol could do to a person, and decided to not push it. Besides, she looked cute for once and didn't want to let Harry's absence ruin all her fun.

"It's California!" Louis greeted with his arms wide open. He gave Nina a warm, alcoholic hug, only to be joined by Liam, and Zayn. "Guys! Nina is mine for the moment. Get in line if you want your own hug!"

"Nina, you didn't tell me you have majestic hair?" Zayn slurred his words together, touching her hair in awe. He was clearly buzzed.

"You never asked," Nina chuckled, giving Zayn a hug.

"Okay, okay, my turn to hug the African! I mean the American!" Liam shouted. Zayn let go, and Nina wrapped her arms around Liam.

"You know, for popular guys, you aren't douche bags," Nina affirmed, letting go of Liam.

"Drunk already?" Niall laughed.

"Alright, I might be a lightweight, but I'm not that lightweight," Nina declared. "Besides, it's not the alcohol talking. You guys have Ashford on lockdown, but you aren't total gits about it."

"British slang!" Leina and Elissia shouted in unison, holding their drinks up in the air.

"Aww, you're so, so, SO kind!" Louis declared, going in for another hug. Liam, Zayn, and Niall joined in too. Leina and Elissia looked at one another, shrugged, and joined the alcoholic group hug too.

"Can I get in on this?" a voice asked. They all let go of one another and looked behind them. It was Robbie, holding out his arms, with a smile on his face. Nina walked towards him, and thanks to the heels on her boots, she didn't have to stand on the tip of her toes to hug him.

"That's funny, Nina's not hugging Harry," Louis pointed out. He took a long swig of his ice cold beer.

"Ease up on the alcohol buddy," Niall laughed, patting him on the back.

As Nina held onto Robbie, her chin rested on his shoulder. Her eyes drifted to the double french doors that led to the backyard, and when she did, Harry walked inside hand-in-hand with Jezabelle. Harry and Nina made eye contact, but instead of looking away like she normally did, she continued to look at him.

Harry looked shocked at first; surprise that she was even at the party. Then when realizing who she was hugging, his bewilderment turned into a condemning jeer. Harry shook his head, and rolled his eyes at Nina, then proceeded to follow Jezabelle to the bottles of alcohol.

Well this is going to be an interesting night.

Notes

'Ello lovely ladies!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday thus far, and enjoying this story as well. The next 3 chapters will all take place in a span of 1 night-- the party that began at the end of this chapter. I only meant to have 2 chapters dedicated to the party & the shit that happens, but my idea for it was so big that I had to spread it across chapters 15-18. I also didn't want to rush it, and not do it justice. Anyways, I'm going to sound like a broken record, buuuut PLEASE do give me any feedback you may have. I have pretty thick skin, so if you have some constructive criticism about the story and my writing style, please let me know... I promise I won't take it personally, and I most definitely will not dislike you if you tell me. As someone who wants to write for a career, there's always room for improvement, and for learning. Don't forget rate this story up if ya like, or down if you don't. Subscribe, and also recommend it to your friends if you think they'd enjoy it too. I'll see you guys tomorrow with chapter 16!! :D

Thanks again!

Commenting is the least I can do to tell you how much I love and appreciate your story, and it doesn't take too much time to do so, so I figure why not comment? But oh my gosh, I cannot believe that was the last chapter and all that's left is an epilogue. And this chapter just… I think it slightly killed me - more than you already nonliterally have that is - when you killed her off and then with Harry and everything. And freaking Jezabelle… Don't even get me started on how much I want to murder that bitch right now. The chapter is written beautifully nonetheless, and I can't wait for the epilogue. xx
