Niall's P.O.V.

When Zayn ran out of the house, everyone went quiet.

"What just happened?" I asked no one in particular.

I decided to follow Zayn outside.

I walked outside quietly and paused when I heard him talk.

"Rachel! What the hell?! Why did you go home? I told you I would figure something out, didn't I?" he half yelled.

I froze.

"Is he around?" he asked after a second of silence.

His voice softened before he spoke next.

"Why did you go home?"

"Rachel, Niall really needs to know about this" he added after another small pause.

I couldn't hold in my curiosity anymore

"Niall really needs to know about what?" I asked.

Zayn turned to me for a second.

"Mate , what are you doing out here?" he avoided my question.

"I came to check where you went.. You seemed really freaked out there" I replied "Is that Rachel?"

"Yeah, you wanna talk to her?"

I shook my head slowly.

He covered the mouthpiece.

"What? Why?" he asked, confused.

I never passed up an opportunity to talk to Rachel.

I shrugged.

"I'm gonna go back inside" I told him.

He looked confused but nodded anyways.

I went back inside quickly not really sure what to do.

What was it that Rachel should tell me?

What was it she was keeping from me?

I've known for a while now that she's been keeping something from me.

Normally we tell each other everything but she's been different lately.

Since she met.... him.

I hated Brad from literally the minute Rachel introduced me to him.



************** FLASHBACK ********************


"You guys are gonna get along really well" she smiled.

I found myself grinning too.

I hadn't seen her this happy in a while.

"This is his place" she told me, pulling up to and apartment block.

I was happy for her, of course but couldn't get rid of the feeling of annoyance in my stomach.

She led me to his door and turned to me anxiously before knocking.

"Don't embarrass me Ni, okay? I really really like him" she told me.

"We'll see" I grinned cheekily.

She punched me playfully before knocking on the door.

She took a deep breath and I chuckled at how nervous she was.

It was adorable.

"Come in!"

She gave me a quick smile before opening the door.

I scanned the apartment quickly, it was pretty big.

Rachel quickly made her way to Brad.

"Brad, this is my best friend Niall" She smiled as she pointed to me.

"Ni, this is my boyfriend Brad" she added.

As soon as Brads eyes landed on me they narrowed and he pulled Rachel closer to him protectively.

Really? This is her boyfriend.

Rachel's boyfriend.

For some reason the words annoyed me.

"Nice to meet you" I smiled politely.

"You too, My Rachel's always talking about you" he replied.

I had to stop myself from snorting.

His Rachel?!

His Rachel?

They barely knew each other.

They hadn't been going out long at all.

Rachel didn't seem to notice, but I knew those words were used to be spiteful.

What did Rachel see in this guy?

Within the first few minutes of meeting him, I had already decided I didn't like him.

Since then, she's been getting more distant.

More secretive.

At first I had been ignoring it, waiting for her to come and talk to me about whatever it was that was going on.

She always told me what was going on.

She knew I was always here for her.

No matter what happened, I was always on her side.

But this time was different.

She wasn't telling me what was wrong with her.

And it was killing me.

I was starting to feel like she didn't trust me anymore..

I made my way up to my room and plopped onto my bed with my guitar.

I began playing I Would and let myself get lost in the song.
