How I met Louis Tomlinson

*earlier that day*
Louis' POV
its been an hour, why hasn't she texted me? Maybe she's just stuck in traffic I mean there seems to be a lot of traffic today, even a couple of accidents. One car went into the river! I hope that persons okay. Louis just calm down she's going to be here soon.
i couldn't keep out the doubt. I mean Lily would tell me wouldn't she? But I'm just being ridiculous.
another half hour went by and still nothing from Lily. I was just about to call her when suddenly Rose called. Maybe she knows where Lily is. "Hey Rose" I said.
"Louis! Oh my god something... Happened!" She half yelled, her breathing was uneven and she sounded like she's been crying.
"Rose, calm down tell me what happened." I said trying to calm her down.
"it's Lily, she's been in an accident you need to come to Queen Victoria hospital now! Niall and I are on our way now." She said. At that moment I almost dropped my phone. My whole body went into shock. Lily, in an accident. Is she hurt? Is she.... No I can't think like that! I mentally slapped myself.
"I'm coming" is all I said and I ran out my door to my car. I raced through the streets to get to the hospital and arrived quickly. I parked and ran to the front doors but collided with something, or someone. I looked up and it was Rose. "Rose I'm so sorry" I said helping her up.
"come on let's get in" Rose said brushing it off. We ran in and went to a desk and talked with a nurse. She told us to wait for the doctor to come and tell us how Lily is. We waited and a rather calm doctor came and told us that Lily was going to surgery. He led us to the OR waiting room but I needed to tell them something.
"before we go, sir I need to tell you something about Lily." I said.
"what is it?"
"she has asthma and a heart condition that you should know about." I said. "Here, this is the medication she takes. I'm her boyfriend and she keeps extras at my house." I said handing him the bottle of pills.
"thank you son, these are going to help us a lot." The doctor said turning to go to Lily's room. A phone rang and the doctor answered and soon they started to wheel a bed towards the hallway. I saw her hair before anything. My Lily. Her flame of red hair swirled on her pillow as they rushed to to get surgery. I felt a hand on my shoulder and it was Niall. We nodded to each other as I went to sit back down. Nothing to do but wait.
and wait we did, for any news about Lily for hours. Niall fell asleep on Roses shoulder but I just sat. Not wanting to do anything but wait. Finally I broke. "I need some air." I said getting up and walking in the hallway. I found a cafeteria and ordered a few sandwiches. Four, one for me, one for Rose and two for Niall. I went back to the room and found an older doctor talking to Rose and Niall.
"so Miss. Williams is in a room and we expect her to wake soon, but you can go see her, room 212, second floor." With that the three of us left. I walked in and I saw Lily. Connected to all these machines and tubes protruding everywhere from her thin frame. A constant beep reminded me that her heart was still beating. Her one hand was bandaged and in a sling but her other hand was still hers. Thin and frail as if, if I wasn't gentle I could break her. I grabbed hold of her hand and sat there. Niall and Rose sat too and ate their sandwiches. I just watched her. Watched as her chest rose and fell with each breathe. her head was all bandaged and I could see a streak of red blood through the white. I saw tubes going up to an IV and blood. All these medications for one little body. Her left knee was in a huge cast and her abdomen was wrapped in more gauze.
i felt a tear roll down my cheek.
she looked broken.
but she was strong, I knew she was strong. She'll make it through this.
with that final thought I let go of her hand and ate, still watching her closely.
