Chapter 44- hospital

Narrators POV
The paramedics worked quick to get Lily to the closest hospital. The picked the glass out of her wounds but couldn't do much else. The emergency room had most of the equipment. They connected her to several IV's and had her oxygen. Suddenly she began to stir. "She's waking up" one of the paramedics yelled. Lily reached into her pocket and handed the paramedic her phone. She held up 5 fingers, then 4, then 7, and lastly 6. It took the paramedic a moment to realize what Lily was trying to tell them. The paramedic looked at Lily who was slipping back into darkness. They were nearly at the hospital and the paramedic was desperately trying to keep Lily breathing. They rushed her pale body into the ER.
"What's her status?" The doctor asked racing her into a bay.
"She was unconscious for most of the ride but woke up briefly and gave us the combination to her phone. Probably to call someone" the young paramedic said.
"Thank you guys, we have it from here." The doctor said. He began a quick examination because he didn't want to waste much time. "Okay start with stitching up those wounds. Then we'll start some blood. Then we'll take her in for x-rays." He said listening to her breathing. "Something doesn't sound right." He said listening to her lungs again.
"What is it?" A nurse asked.
"I think she may have a collapsed lung. Lets bring in a chest x-ray."
They got an x-ray and the doctor was right. They proceeded to began re-inflating the lung. "How is she doing?" The doctor asked.
"Alright but we need to get her in for an x-ray, we have her on blood, and she's stabilized. They brought her in for an X-ray.
"Looks like she's got a few broken ribs" the doctor said.
"And there's something up with her knee, and shoulder, she dislocated it, I think she may need to go in for surgery on that knee." The X-ray technician said.
"Alright, lets prep her for surgery, I'll call someone on her phone." The doctor said leaving the nurses to do their thing. The doctor began to scroll through the contacts but only found 2 with British numbers. He rang the first number.
"Hello? Rose, I'm Dr. Wilkins and I'm sorry to say but your friend Miss. Williams was in a severe car accident and is currently at the queen Victoria hospital." He said fast and quick.
"Oh my god" Rose cried. "I'm coming right now!" The line went dead and Dr. Wilkins proceeded to call the other number. But the line was busy, he assumed that Rose called the man on the contact list.
Minutes had passed and Dr. Wilkins was waiting for the call that the OR was ready for Lily. Suddenly a girl with dark skin and curly wild hair ran in along with a blonde haired boy and a boy with brown hair. "Hullo, is Dr. Wilkins here!?" The girl asked.
"I'm Dr. Wilkins and let me assure you that Lily is fine. She's being prepped for surgery right now and as soon as I get the call she's on her way." Dr. Wilkins assured the frantic friends. They nodded and went to go wait. Soon he got a call and she was on her way to surgery.
Louis stood up as he saw his girlfriend's hair. He wanted so badly to go after her but he couldn't. "Come on I'll bring you to the waiting room" Dr. Wilkins said leading the three friends to the OR waiting room, where they would wait for the news on Lily.
