Chapter 31
*Niall POV*
We talked a lot tonight. She started to tell me about her relationship with her parents, and how she was treated. She also told me about her friends, and ex-boyfriends. I can’t believe that she actually only had one ex, which is Jayson. It’s rare to find a rich girl not to spend all her money, being popular and has so many exes. It’s annoying to hear something like that. However, this girl in front of me, she’s different. Like I thought when the first time I met her, I has felt there’s something special about her. Even though her parents broke down, I didn’t ever hear she complains about her ‘new’ house, and how she has to be mature in a minute. There will be no maids for her. I asked her the same questions before, and she said that she prefer to live as a normal people, not too much, but not too little.
She’s humble for a person at her age. Never had I ever heard she talks about brands, like you know… girls. Well, I think it’s pretty normal, but she never did. I know she is craving to buy new cloths because maybe she is used to it, she could’ve use utilize me to buy her new cloths and stuffs, yet she didn’t. She doesn’t even want me to treat her on and on. She never asks for anything. I don’t know how lucky I am too had met her. I as well can’t ever imagine how dumb and spoiled her ex is. I know, Alice still has feelings for him even just a little. I know, if Jayson change his attitude and ask her out again, Alice might accept him, and maybe her heart will get torn apart for another time.
I put the fork in the table as Alice tells about a joke. I laughed, and, “Alice, there’s something I would like to tell you.” Alice still laughs because her jokes before, “Yeah, anything. What is it?” I took a deep breath and exhaled, “Please don’t be surprised.” I paused, and I whisper to her, “I’m still hungry.” Alice stare at me and sighs, “Niall, really? I thought you’re going to say something important.” I laughed while looking at her face before. She looks so dead serious, “Hey, it is to me. Let’s grab a dessert after this.” Alice rolled her eyes and smiled, “oh, fine.”
I hold her hands when we get back to the shore. I told her to sit down while I will her an apple pie. When I arrived, I saw Alice talking to a guy. I think I have met him before? OH! He’s the one— oh, I think I get it. When he left, I walk to Alice, “You’re that Rachel, aren’t you?” I said while I squinting my eyes at her. Alice gives me a big smile, “Rachel is my middle name, so basically I didn’t actually lie to you.” I lift my eyebrows up, “Okay? Who’s he?” Alice hummed, “he’s my neighbor, well, I met him when you know… the day I left my flat, he recognize my face from the magazine, and he offered me if I would like to stay in the same flat as him.”
Oh, just a neighbor. Special one, hope she got nothing to do with him. “Okay then,” Alice bit the tip of her lips while smiling, “Where’s my apple pie?” she asked me. Oh, yeah, I almost forgot about the pie. I lift my hands up high with her apple pie; she’s shorter than me, so she has to jump if she still wants the pie. Alice hits my hand, “C’mon, Niall, the pie smells awfully nice.” I laughed when she still jumping around trying to grab the pie. Well, finally I gave it to her. “Oh, gee, thanks a lot. Now my hair is a mess.” She said while taking a bit of the pie.
Really, being with Alice is the best thing in the world. “Now, should we walk home?” I told her. Alice nods while still enjoying the pie, as well as I am. When I arrived at her flat, she gave me a goodnight smile, “so, I will see you soon, Niall.” I smiled to her and wave my hand.
Wait. I just can’t end tonight like this. I hold the door when Alice tried to close it. “Wait, Alice, there’s something I would like to tell you.” Alice opens the door again. “You’re still hungry?” she guessed. “No,” told her. Alice nods giving me a sign to continue. I took a deep breath, deep breath, “I know I’m asking too much, but,” I paused for a minute, “would you be my girlfriend, Alice?”
