They Don't Know About Us

Chapter 8

*Justice’s P.O.V*
You know how in those cheesy romance movies or novels girls describe their first kiss with that certain guy as being electrifying or filled with spark? That was my exact thoughts as Harry’s soft lips touched mine. It was an automatic thing to respond to his touch. It felt like this kiss had been building all week. Countless times I would catch myself glancing at his lips wondering what it would be like to feel them. Would they be soft, dominating, tempting? All of that and more circled my mind before this moment.
When we pulled apart shy smiles lingered on both of our lips. With knowing eyes and hot cheeks I looked down. A comfortable silence lingered in between us as we continued to walk. Playing the moment in my head over and over again made a shiver go down my spine. We were stepping into something different and it felt good.

“Yeah, but if we do that she’ll be suspicious.” Perrie spoke as I entered the lounge slightly confused. It is was slightly deserted on this floor which was unusual. “Hey girl!” She greeted me with an excited smile.
“Hi…” I greeted her warily as I noticed Eleanor was present as well. “Where’s everyone else?” I asked looking around aimlessly. Eleanor and Perrie exchanged a suspicious look before both shrugging.
“Gone, I came over this morning and they all poof, vanished.” Perrie answered my question.
My lips pulled to the side in thought. “So it’s just us three?” I asked.
“Yep, it’s just us three ladies.” Eleanor responded.
“Even Sophia is gone?” I asked. They nodded. I hadn’t known these girls long, but I could sense that something was up. They were hiding something and I was determined to find out what. “Okay well I need food so I’m going to go somewhere.” I announced turning to leave the room.
“Wait!” Eleanor called following after me. “Let’s go to lunch together.” She suggested.
“I’ll come along.” Perrie added joining us in the doorway. “The girls and I aren’t working today.” She shrugged.
Eleanor smiled, “Great, let’s go.” She hooked arms with me and led the way. I went along with their odd behavior. It was best to pretend as if I suspected nothing. “Isn’t it your birthday today?”
I nodded, “Yeah, it is.”
“It is?” Perrie gasped. “How old are you?” She looked at me expectantly.
I fought my laugh, “I’m nineteen. I made it through my first year as a legal adult.”
“Wow, that’s cool. Happy birthday.” Eleanor grinned as we entered the elevator.
Perrie nodded, “Let’s have a celebratory lunch. My treat.” She offered. I accepted figuring what the heck. It seemed as if Harry was currently busy and I knew nothing about LA. If I was going to get lost at least I would get lost with two of the nicest girls I had met all week. So far this birthday was turning into a memorable one.

“Perrie said they’re going to shop after lunch. We have a few extra hours.” Zayn announced as we stood in the middle of the transforming night club.
“How long did you have this planned?” Niall asked watching as tables and chairs were rearranged.
I shrugged, “It was kind of last minute. She asked for a cake, but what’s cake without a party?”
Liam shook his head, “This is going to blow over well.” He muttered.
“You aren’t even together yet mate.” Louis added as he rolled his eyes.
“Don’t listen to them Harry. I think what you’re doing is really sweet.” Sophia countered. Not wanting to be too suspicious I asked her and Lou to help me quickly plan it all.
Lou nodded, “She would be crazy not to want to be with a great lad like you.”
“Thanks,” I mumbled as the lads dispersed. I knew when I invited Justice to come to LA for her birthday that I wanted to do something nice for her. She had come all this way without anyone else because I asked her to. I wasn’t sure how she would react. I was quickly learning that Justice was a complicated person. One moment she could be outspoken and the next she could be terribly shy. There were several ways that this could turn out.
“Ow, I’ve got to go. I have to set up before they get back to the hotel.” Lou announced checking the time. She turned to Sophia. “You can handle them, right?”
The girl nodded with a polite smile. “I think I’ve figured them out.” Lou nodded as well gathering her things and leaving. “She’s going to love this.” Liam’s new girlfriend spoke in a sure voice as the crew continued to work.
“I hope so.” I muttered with a heavy breath.

We had been out for hours before I finally dragged Eleanor and Perrie back to the hotel. When we got there Lou was checking to make everything was in order for tonight. As I made my way to my room to call my friends, she asked if I was interested in getting my hair. I turned her down, but Eleanor assured me that it would be the best time of my life. So I agreed taking a seat in the chair and relaxing. Lou smiled getting to work immediately.
“Is there anything particular that you want?” She asked holding as comb in her hand.
I shook my head, “Nope. You can do whatever you want.” She moved towards me and I held up my hands. “Except for cutting off all my hair, because it took a long time to grow it this far.” I momentarily panicked.
Perrie laughed, “I think you should get extensions.”
Eleanor’s eyes lightened. “Oh, yes those would look great on you.” She agreed. “Lou you’re good with those, right?”
“Definitely.” Lou responded touching the comb to my hair.

“What time is it?” I asked as we left the club.
“Time for rehearsals. You’ve got to go Harry.” Paul informed me ushering me forward. I nodded following the rest of the lads. Tonight was our closing show for the tour. Tomorrow we would open the teen choice awards and then we flew home to film the music video for our next single and get some rest.
As we were driven to the arena, I pulled out my mobile going to the SMS app. I had been away from the hotel since the morning which meant that I hadn’t actually seen Justice today. I type a quick apologetic message to her wondering what she was doing. Eleanor and Perrie volunteered to keep her busy and distracted while the lads helped me figure the party out.
Me: Happy birthday babe! I’m sorry we’re busy today, but I promise we’ll celebrate tonight.
Justice: I was typing a message to you, ha! It’s fine you’ve spent literally every free moment with me.
Me: No, I invited you here. I’m supposed to spend my free moments with you.
Justice: That’s it, huh? And here I thought you just liked being around me. Painful Haz :’(
Me: Oh no! Not like that. I like being around you.
Justice: Haha kmsl. I was kidding Harry! I’ll see you tonight.

*Justice’s P.O.V*
Looking at my reflection I was dressed in black leather high-waist shorts, a comic book crop tee, red Converse studded wedges, with my hair styled by the infamous Lou.
“You don’t think this is too much for a concert?” I asked Perrie seeing as how she was the one who helped me pick out the outfit. More like she insisted that she had to get me a present, grabbed a bunch of clothes, asked what I liked, and bought it all.
Perrie gasped standing up. “It’s your birthday!” She shook my shoulder playfully. “You have to look cute, not that you didn’t before.” She assured me. It was strange how great she and I got along.
I pursed my lips still looking at my reflection. “Yeah, but no one is going to notice me.” I reminded her. We were going to a One Direction concert where the focus would definitely be on the ubber fit UK boys.
“People will see you. Trust me.” Perrie waved off my statement. “Gosh, I’ve got to get ready. I’ll meet you at the car.” Just like that she gone. Growing tired of looking at myself I shrugged turning away from the mirror. It took at least twenty minutes before the few of us left at the hotel were gathered up and usher to the waiting transportation. I caught sight of Perrie with the rest of the Little Mix girls, who I met the day before. She waved me over as Eleanor hooked arms with me.
“Are you ready for tonight?” She asked excitedly.
“I guess so.” I answered. “This is like my fifth time seeing them this summer.” I added.
“Yes, but the last show is always different. They pull out all of the stops.” She informed me as we got into the car that was driving us to the arena.
“I guess that’s why they were rehearsing all day.” I commented. We arrived at the Staples Center with plenty of time before the opening act began. 5SOS were on their… best behavior pleasing the crowd. There was an intermission after their set as everyone waited in anticipation for the main event.
I was in between Perrie and Eleanor in the crowd. The crowd erupted in a roar as the lights went down and the introduction video began. Sophia shot me an excited smiled before turning her attention back to the stage. The show went on with many unplanned moments. There were four songs left when Harry stepped forward. He began to speak, but I didn’t remember this part in the last show.
“Not only is it our last show.” Harry spoke. The audience hung on to his every word. “Today one of my close friends is celebrating her birthday and I need you all to help me sing for her.” He continued. My eyes widened as I looked around at the expectant faces around me. Harry nodded to Eleanor who literally pushed me forward. There was a security guard walking towards me clearly meant to help me get to the stage. I attempted shaking my head and backing out, but it was too late. Everyone was looking at me. With my bones rattling I allowed myself to be led to the stage where Harry took my hand helping me up the stairs. Louis did a count off before the whole room began singing happy birthday. My cheeks were on fire as embarrassment washed over me.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTICE!” The song ended. I gave an awkward wave before Niall pulled me into a hug murmuring a happy birthday. The other three followed suit. When it came to Harry, he kissed my cheek gaining a reaction from the crowd. Quickly as possible I made my way back to my seat. I walked with my head down and hair hanging in my face.
“Happy birthday!” People shouted at me from every direction as I attempted to go unnoticed. Perrie, Eleanor, Sophia, and Lou wore knowing smiles. For the rest of the show I felt the stares. When the show ended we were immediately led backstage. As soon as Harry was in arm’s length I punched his shoulder with wide eyes.
“Ouch,” he groaned rubbing the spot with an amused expression.
“What was that?” I demanded still in disbelief. Harry shrugged not offering a verbal explanation.
“Someone doesn’t like surprises.” Liam muttered as he passed by.
I shook my head, “Not surprises of that scale.”
“That’s not even the best part.” Zayn informed me. A worried look flashed in Harry’s eyes but he quickly masked it. We all waited for the lads to change and make themselves less sweaty so that we could go eat I assumed. Boy did I assume wrong. When we arrived at the lively club it suddenly became clear why Perrie insisted I wear this outfit, Eleanor dictated my hairstyle, and Sophia continuously looked at me expectantly. They were in on it. They were in on Harry going ridiculously overboard. The club was filled with people I had recently met and some I didn’t know. Yet it was clear that this was a party for me.
“Harry,” I began as we walked further inside hand-in-hand. “You did entirely too much.” I gasped taking in the large Minnie Mouse cake displayed as the focal point. “This is way too much.”
“But you like it, right?” Harry asked stopping to look down at me.
My eyes widened. “Do I like it? I love it! It’s great.” I assured him. “But why did you do it?” I asked looking at him.
He gave a genuine smile, “You deserve it.” Harry responded before.
I gave shy smile, “No, I don’t, but I really appreciate all of this. I can’t thank you enough.”
Harry shrugged, “It’s not necessary.” He said. It was then that I noticed what he was wearing. He wore a black button down with the top buttons open showing his bird tattoos, dark jeans, and his favorite shoes. “Come on, let’s celebrate your birthday.” He made a weird face before pulling me into the crowd.
By the end of the night I had met so many people that my head was spinning. I managed to get a picture with both all of Little Mix and Perrie.
@JayQuin94: I love this blonde! @KatieJatieBatie are you jealous? pic.twitter.com/p/Hg78ts
@LittleMixOffic: PARTY!!!! Ha ha pic.twitter.com/p/g3fTc xPerrie
I also met Ed Sheeran which left me speechless. There was a gift table, but I didn’t get a chance to look at any of it. As Harry and I posed for pictures in front of the massive cake I wondered how the hell he managed to pull this all off.
“Happy birthday.” Harry smiled before kissing my cheek (for the second time that night). If there was any doubt before, I was sure of it now. This was the best birthday ever.
