Chapter 24
Megan's POV:
I know it seems like a bad idea to run into a forest alone. Especially now that Ive discovered what lurks here. And judging from what had happened recently. I had little power, but I could kind of protect myself.
I honestly didnt know who to believe. Louis and the boys had been taking care of me, but what if that was all a scheme? That Xavier guy. He had saved me from being crushed. But what if that was only to get my powers.
Powers I didnt even know I had. I could only use 3 of my powers. Shooting that beam from my left hand, moving items with my mind, and controlling others minds.
The boys said I had more that I just had to know how to use. I guess other gangs knew of me and my powers too. Judging from the reactions I get when people hear who I was.
I slowed to a walk after running a bit. I was crying. I just wanted to go home. But I couldn't. I didnt hve a home. My family didnt know I exsisted.
Before I knew it I was in full on sob mode. I couldn't help it. All of this was too much. Finally I sunk to the ground, leaning back on a tree.
"You alright?" Came a voice making me jump. I couldn't trust anyone, so my head immediatly shot up. I looked into the eyes of someone who looked just like Carter, my best friend from my old town, only he had black hair instead of blonde.
I stared up at him. "Do I have something on my face?" He asked with a little grin. "No, sorry. You look like someone I know." I said, continuing to stare.
He smiled. "That's good. I should." He said. Now I was very confused. "Carter?" I asked, squinting slightly. "It's me." He said, smiling widely.
I jumped up. "But your hair!" I exclaimed. "It changes when I transform," he explained. "TRANSFORM!!! You mean..." I trailed off, scanning him for any hint of difference.
"Im what they call half vampire." He said. "Just like Liam." I muttered. He looked at me confused. "Nevermind. When did this happen!!" I exclaimed. "Bout an hour after you left." He said.
"I missed you." I sighed, stepping forward. "NO SARAH!!!" Yelled a voice. I turned to see Niall standing not too far away. Dang. I should have known they would follow me.
"What Niall." I shot back. "Sarah. Come here. Now." He said, not taking his eyes off of Carter. "Niall its.." I started, but he cut me off. "That's not Carter." He said.
My gaze instantly shot to Carter's face. It now had an evil grin plastered to it. Immediatly a tingle shot through me that I shouldn't be here. I took off towards Niall, before he could react.
"Nice speed." Muttered Niall. That's when I realized. I had used my super speed for the first time.
Nialls POV:
I knew this was the work of the South Gang. Lucky I came when I did. Another second and that fake would have taken her. Stupid Xavier for making her run. Should have known he would try that.
See the South Gamg had the technology to make themselves look like anyone they want. Well they can only change mystics. The only problem is, the need to be in possession of the person they use.
That meant whoever they were using against Sarah......well they had him. I couldn't tell Sarah though. She would barge in there herself to try to get him.
Chances are he was already dead. The south gang doesn't take many survivors. I just had to get her out of here. That, and hope she didnt ask questions.
"Carter" started towards us. I grasped Sarah's hand, and shot through the forest. The others werent far behind me. When we reached the rubble of the dome, I stopped.
Quickly, I mind message the other members of our gang. The ones uninjured by the fight responded, and soon filled the area. We had about 20 by the time "Carter" got there.
Louis. He was awake now. The medic had cured him. He rushed over to Sarah, and pulled her behind all of the members of our gang.
She was in shock no doubt. All of this must be stressful.
What happened next no one was prepared for. "Carter" stopped by the edge of the forest, and kind of smiled. Then the whole South Gang, plus a few lined the edge of the forest.
I knew what was going to happen. Gang War 2, winner gets Sarah.
