A New Family

Lily's POV:

I woke up with a sickening feeling in my gut. Today was the day I would tell Jacob. Today was the day that I would leave. I slipped my feet over the side of my bed and pushed my comforters away. I dressed in my favorite light blue skinny jeans, kept on the Holmes Chapel T-shirt that Harry gave me, added a nice buckle, and pulled my hair into a ponytail. I put some tennis shoes on and stuffed my school uniform into my backpack.

I ran downstairs and into Eleanor's room. She was sleeping soundly, not wanting to wake her I wrote her a note:

Dear Eleanor,
I'm going to bike to school today. I hope you feel better.
I'll be home in about eight hours.

I taped the note to her door and left for the garage. My bike was a baby blue mountain bike- just like my old one in Minnesota. I swung my backpack over my shoulder and mounted the bike. Fresh air blew into my face as I pedaled down my block. I was about to turn the corner when I noticed Luke, his curly hair damp, from a morning shower. I wanted to bike over to him but I wanted to stay true to Nick.

Besides, the only reason why I like him is because he reminds me of Nick. I tried to avoid him, but unfortunately, he saw me and biked up to me. I pretended not to see him and biked faster. By the time I got to school, I had managed to not interact with Luke by biking faster than him. I panted as I led my bike to the racks, quickly putting on my lock and practically sprinting to the doors to avoid Luke.

Inside, I ran to the girls bathroom (somewhere that was hopefully anti-Luke) and changed into the school uniform. I adjusted my ponytail, put my clothes into my backpack, and swung the door open. Immediately, I met freckles and curls. Luke. He grinned at me.

"Avoiding me, Lily?"

"I have no idea what your talking about." I tried to walk around him to home room but he stepped in front of me.

"Your in my way," I pointed at him, slightly irritated and nervous.

"Can we talk?"

"About what?"

"Well I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date sometime." What was with all the guys here? They don't even spend time to get to know me better! I'm not even pretty and two guys have asked me out!

"I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to date." I pushed him away and walked to home room. About ten minutes later Jacob came in, looking very pissed.

"What the fuck Lily? I thought we were riding the bus together? Do you know how panicked I was when you didn't show up? Where were you?" I just raised my eyebrows, God, what did I see in him before?

"Sorry, I wanted to bike to school today."

"You could of told me!" I rolled my eyes.

"Would it be a bad time to say that I want to break up with you?" I asked innocently and sweetly.

"YES IT IS A BAD TIME TO BREAK UP WITH ME BECAUSE I ALREADY BOUGHT A FUCKING TUX TO THE FUCKING DANCE!"

"Look I'm sorry, I'm not actually been interested in you, it was just to make Louis's sister's jealous." Jacob stormed away, I felt bad but seriously, how did he get so worked up and protective? I don't have to be in his radar 24/7. Jesus. Well back to being a nobody. Suddenly the intercom turned on.

"Lily Tomlinson, please come down to the office. You have a schedule change. Lily Tomlinson, please come down to the office." I groaned, picked up my books and left for the office. Hopefully, this will mean I won't have as many classes with Jacob. Some lady handed me a piece of paper and the bell rang. I glanced down at my schedule. Apparently my grades from Minnesota came in because I'm being transferred to all honor's classes.

I walked over to Geometry (I was in Algebra) and sat down in a desk.

"Looks like we have all our classes together now." I looked up to see Luke, staring down at my schedule.

"Oh goody" I said sarcastically.

"Aw, come on Lily, I know you like me." I suppressed a smile. You can't fall for him Lily, I thought. He just reminds you if Nick.

"Hello class," said the teacher, "this year your seating chart will be made alphabetical, by first names."

"Genius." Luke smirked at me and slipped into the seat to my left.

"The person to your left will be your side partner all year." The teacher announced.

I am really starting to hate this teacher.

Hey guys. I was looking through the comments and noticed that someone put that they love Louis's sisters. I just wanted to say that Louis's sisters are probably really sweet and I don't have anything against them.
