Things are Changing
I smiled as the I watched the tent grow lighter and lighter. I know its still really early, but being up early is nice, you get to really appreciate the whole day. I looked down at the girl sleeping peacefully in my arms. I sighed and kissed the top of her head. Things have been different between me and El lately. I don't even understand. Don't get me wrong, I love her with all my heart, things have just been different and I'm not sure what it is, we just arnt the same as we used to be. I'm sure it'll all blow over soon enough and things will go back go normal.
Being as quiet and gentle as possible, I withdrew my arm from around Eleanor and snuck out of the tent. I zipped it up and walked over to Harry's tent. I need to talk to him about Bella. I feel terrible because I promised Eliza I wouldn't do anything, but something's going on and he should know. I quietly unzipped the tent and peered inside. I smiled at what I saw. Harry and Bella were sound asleep in each others ams under his sleeping bag. They look so happy. If I say anything that will be ruined. Eliza did say she was probably over reacting...ugh I don't know. I need to talk to her. I left Harry's tent and went over to Eliza's. I unzipped it slightly, surprised when I found her awake, on her phone. She didnt notice me as she was facing away, so I stepped forward into the tent.
When I looked over her shoulder I saw what she was looking at; photos of her and Bella. I stayed silent as she flipped though the photos. They varied from photos of them when they looked quite young, maybe 12, to photos that looked like they were taken recently. Then she got to one photo. It was full length, and her and Bella where standing next to a pool in bikinis laughing. She flicked two photos over to one that was practically the same picture, though they looked about 2 years older. She kept flicking between those two photos, as though she might be comparing them, so I did the same. The first thing I noticed was Eliza's eyes. In the second photo, Eliza had a certain aspect of worry in her eyes. Then Bellas face. Her smile in each photo was different, while she seemed happy in both, something told me in the second, her smile was fake.
Then I realised what Eliza must be looking at. She stopped on the second picture, her thumb hovering over Bellas body. Bellas very skinny body. In the first picture, Bella was already quite skinny, but in this one, she was skinny to a different extent. Her stomach, was not flat, it slightly curved inwards. And I could vaguely see the outline of her ribs. I leaned forwards to get a better look. Eliza jumped and turned around, immediately flipping her phone over.
"How long have you been standing there?" She demanded.
"Just got here." I lied, sitting down next to her.
"Eliza...what's going on with Bella." Her face immediately hardened.
"I told you, nothing, I was over reacting and-"
"You were crying. Correct me if I'm wrong but you don't seem like the sort of person who cries at little things." I cut her off harshly. She sighed.
"Louis please don't say anything, she'll be so mad if she thinks I told you anything. I really don't think anything is wrong, I just noticed something and jumped to conclusions which I shouldn't have done. She's fine. Do you see any reason why I should think otherwise?" I thought about telling her I was really worried about Bella, but truthfully I don't have any evidence and I don't want to worry Eliza.
"No." I lied again, I do see reason why she should be worried, I just don't know what it is.
"Then get out of my tent." I sighed and looked down.
"Okay." I mumbled, starting to leave the tent. I turned back around.
"Eliza..." She looked up, and her eyes broke my heart. They were filled with worry, sadness and a little bit of guilt.
"Nothing," I sighed and left, going back to my tent. El was still asleep, and I didnt really feel like going back to bed, so I decided to stay outside. I found a nice rock next to the river and took off my shoes, letting the cool water trickle over my feet.
I smiled, softly stroking Bellas hair as she slept. This beautiful girl in my arms was my everything. I can't imagine my life without her. Last night was...amazing. Looking at her now, I know that she is who I want for the rest of my life. I can imagine us, we will keep dating and push throught whatever life throws at us, in a few years, I'll propose. Then we'll get married, have kids and live happily ever after. I could move to Australia permanently, or she could move to England with me. I don't care if we end up in bloody Russia for gods sake, so long as we're together.
"Morning," I blinked, realising she was awake and I had been caught staring. "Were you watching me sleep?" She asked.
"No," I mumbled unconvincingly and looked down. She laughed and kissed me. She leaned back, smiling.
"I love you so much Bella."
"I love you too Harry." I know I'm smiling like an idiot, but honestly, I don't give a fuck. I love her.
"We should get dressed." Bella started to sit up but I pulled her back down.
"Nooo!" I whined. "Stay here, stay with me." I placed a trail of delicate kisses on her neck. Her eyes fluttered closed and she tilted her head to give me more access. I smirked, continuing to kiss her neck. I lightly bit and sucked on one spot, leaving a mark. She left out a small, almost inaudible moan. I smiled into her skin, softly kissing the newly sensitive skin. I rolled over so I was on top of her.
"Harry....we have to...get up." I shook my head at her.
"No we don't. We can stay here. Please?" I pouted. Being the smart girl she is, she didnt look at my face, knowing she would crack.
"We have to get up, please?" She pouted. Being the idiot I am, I looked at her face and gave in.
"Fine." I huffed, sitting up and grabbing our clothes, handing her her short's, underwear and my hoodie.
"Thank's." She got dressed quickly and left the tent, leaving me there smiling. I am completely head over heels in love with this girl.
Once I got dressed and neatened the tent up a little, I went outside to look for Bella. Yeah yeah I'm pathetic and want to spend every second I can with her, whatever. I saw her perched up on a rock near the river. I came up behind her and wrapped my arms around her, kissing her neck. She squirmed a little and I immediately pulled back, frowning.
"What's wrong?" She bit her lip and I suddenly felt panicked.
"I just feel really gross." She admitted. I froze, is this about last night? Did she regret it? Did I pressure her?
"Why?" I chocked out, trying to sound as casual as possible.
"I just hate the fact that I've been camping in the dusty bush for a day and there's no showers or anything and I feel dirty like I have dust 'n' crap all over me. Oh god I sound like such a girl!" She covered her face with her hands and relief washed over me.
"Well I still think you look beautiful, dust, crap and all." I pecked her lips and she laughed.
"You're so cheesy." She laughed again. "But I still love you."
"Any one think maybe we should wake Niall up? It's his birthday and for once in his life he is sleeping in." Zayn commented.
"Let him sleep," Bella shrugged to which Liam laughed.
"Of course you would say that little miss 'fuck off and let me sleep'," he mimicked her voice. She rolled her eyes and leant back on me. I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her closer, resting my chin on her head.
"Uhh guys...where's Louis? I woke up this morning and he wasn't in our tent." Eleanor frowned. "I wanted to go looking for him but well-I would get lost." She seemed almost awkward talking about Louis.
"Is everything okay between you two?" Liam asked bravely, earning him an elbow in the stomach from Danielle.
"Yeah," Eleanor smiled but it faltered for a second, as though she was asking herself the question. "Yeah, we're fine." She repeated, her smile not so convincing this time. Bella turned her head and looked at me.
"You should go look for him," She whispered.
"Why me?" I pouted, not wanting to move from this position.
"Because he's your best friend and something's been keeping him away all morning." She scolded me.
"But I'll get lost." I whined, trying to find a valid reason for me to stay.
"Then shout out and we'll find you, go." She pushed me off her and I huffed, standing up.
"Fine. But when I end up lost forever in the bush, don't come crying to me."
"I won't, you'll be lost." She smirked. I smiled despite myself, and kissed her lightly before starting to walk away. I noticed Eliza watching me curiously from across the group, but I payed no attention to it. I set off in my search for Louis.
The search proved to not be that hard, he wasn't more than a few hundred meters away, but he had managed to take every turn there was. I found him sitting on a rock next to the river, with his elbows on his knees and his head resting on his hands. I frowned at his expression. He looked troubled and worried.
"Lou?" I sat down beside him. He smiled up at me.
"How long have you been here?" I asked, surly he hasn't just been sitting here all morning.
"I dunno, shit is El awake?" My god what was on his mind to make him lose track of time like this?
"Yeah, we all are. Except for Niall. She's been up for a while, you should probably get back mate." He swore and hit the rock next to him in frustration.
"I didnt realise how much time had passed. After I left Eliza's tent I came here, I thought it had only been an hour or so." I only processed the part about Eliza.
"Why were you in her tent this morning? Oh god Lou you didn't sleep with her did you?!" His eyes widened and he shook his head.
"No no no! God no! I did not sleep with Eliza. I was just talking with her this morning. I would never cheat on El, you should know that."
"Yeah yeah, I guess." I shrugged. He narrowed his eyes.
"What do you mean, 'I guess',” This is not a conversation I wanted to have.
"Nothing nothing, I didnt mean anything. I'm just thinking about stuff." It wasn't really a Lie, I was also thinking about Bella and last night. I'm still scared she might regret it.
"What stuff?" He asked. This isn't a conversation I want to have either.
"I slept with Bella last night." I admitted.
"Yeah I saw her in your tent this morning." He nodded, thinking I had literally meant that I just slept with her. I guess we do do that a lot. "Lemme guess, she freaked herself out with the thoughts of spiders and snakes and murderers then came into your tent?" He smirked, knowing Bella.
"Yeah," I laughed, shaking my head. "That's not what I meant though, I slept with her." I put an emphasis on the work slept. His eyes widened again.
"Ohhh you slept with her---wait why is that a big thing, havnt you done it before." I shook my head and his eyes widened every more.
"Really? But you-never mind. So why are you worried? Your not afraid she regretted it are you? Because that would make you unbelievably stupid, I see the way she looks at you, she's completely in love. Your an idiot for thinking she would regret it." He rolled his eyes. His words were oddly comforting.
"Thanks?" I said, unsure of what to say. "We really need to head back though.....make sure you go strait to Eleanor when we do." I stood up, giving him no time to respond.
Eventually Harry came back, with Louis behind him. Everyone kept talking but it was obvious they were all waiting to see if he would say anything about his absence. Harry walked straight over to Bella and put his arm around her. They are so in love. If he could I'm pretty sure Harry would spend every waking moment with her. I've never seen him like this, ever. I know people say that about a lot of relationships, but this is different. They love each other so much. Harry would do anything for her. I don't know how we didnt realise their relationship earlier, the love practically radiates off them. Me and Louis used to be like that. I don't know what happened. I still love him, and he still loves me-I think-but something about our relationship has changed. But I'm sure it'll pass. He sat down next to me without a word.
"Where were you?" I asked curiously. He turned to me and smiled, though it didn't reach his eyes.
"I was just by the river a little further down, I lost track of time." I nodded.
"Okay....you wern't in the tent when I woke up..." I cautiously stated, feeling as though I was walking a tightrope.
"Oh yeah, I woke up pretty early. Sorry." He shrugged and turned his attention to Niall who was -finally- emerging from his tent.
"Happy Birthday Niall!!!"
It had been a pretty good day since Niall woke up. We all gave him presents, ate about half of the junk food we brought down, even went for a swim in the river. But Louis had been distant. He didnt talk unless someone directly spoke to him and payed absoloutly no attention to me. I'm not saying that like some snob who needs her boyfriend with her 24/7 but he could at least acknowledge that I exist. Right now we were sitting around a bonfire, I was sitting next to Louis but he was much too far away from my liking and his mind seemed to be in another universe.
"Im gonna to bed, I'm tired." Louis abruptly stood up and everyone whined in protest.
"C'mon stay up, its only 9 for gods sake! The stars arn't even out and without any city lights the stars are fricken beautiful. Your staying." Bella demanded. He looked around at everyone who was nodding eagerly. To my surprise his gaze focused on Eliza.
"The stars are really pretty." She nodded at him. He sighed and sat back down, even further away then before. I frowned and scooted closer. He didnt even notice.
Hey! So I'm back from my holiday, it was really amazing but unfortunately I got almost no writing done....sorry. With close to forty other family members on the same holiday (which I loved) the only thing you can do in peace is read....I read five books in the 13 days I was gone. Now that I'm back I should be able to get a lot more time to write. The upcoming week is all going to be 35+ degrees (celceus..so boiling) so since I don't have a pool I shall be speanding a lot of time in my room, hopefully writing.
Back to the story, lemme know what you think of the chapter and what you think will/should happen next. I love each and every comment so pleeeeease comment and VOTE and subscribe. Love you xoxo
