Five Lovestories

Chapter Ninety-Eight, "The Important Stuff"

The weekend was feeling unusually long, even though it only a matter of a few days. But the wait for Zayn was big now, I could feel it stronger now, I thought. On Sunday night, I lied wide awake, just thinking about him. And then I just knew, that I had made the right decision by letting him go for a short while. My body was aching from the loss of his, and my love for him circulated through my veins. I missed him so much, and it felt so good. And wherever the seperation would bring us, I was happy for us. For the future. For Bim. For me. For Zayn. And I was excited to start my week with Niall, after I got back from Halloween.
On Monday, me and Bim were back at normal. It was like we had never left each other.

"Can you believe that they're coming home today? I'm gonna miss the empyness so bad.." Bim groaned as we were sitting in the cafeteria, eating carrots.

"Nah.. I'm happy they're coming home!" I smiled. "It's weird, you know. It has only been a few days, and I already miss them all like crazy.. I'm starting to realize just how much they mean to me.. Well, I miss Zayn the most, but anyway.."

"Hey, can I.. ask something? Like, something private?" Bim said and leaned closer to me.

"Yeah, sure..?" I hesitated.

She cleared her throat, and that's when I realized, she was going to ask some serious shit.

"Have you guys, like.. done.. anything, yet?" She whispered.

I chuckled and breathed out. She suddenly remined me of Sarah. But why did everyone wanna know about my sexlife?

"Uhm.." I laughed. "No."

She nodded with a serious pair of eyes and kept on eating her carrots like nothing had happened.

"Well.. what about Harry?" She suddenly asked.

"What?.. God, no!" I laughed, but then I got serious. "Why?"

"Well.. wouldn't sex make everything so.. awkward? I mean, for all of you? Look, I know what I have said about your little strategy, but I just want you to know that I didn't mean it. Sure, it's different what you're doing, but it's pretty clever, actually."

"Thanks." I said with a smile. "And, yeah, I've thought about it.. And I kinda agree with you, it would just.. complicate things.."

"So you won't do it?" She asked.

"I don't know.." I groaned and buried my face in my hands. "What would you have done?"

"Honestly? I would've talked myself into not doing it, but I swear.. if I was alone with any of them.. I would've lost it." She giggled.

"Wow, Bim.." I laughed. "I never saw you as that kind of person.."

Suddenly, my phone started buzzing in my pocket as we were laughing at each other.

"Oh, it's Zayn." I blushed and clicked on the green button. "Hello?"

"Hi, babe!" Zayns familiar voice beeped into my ear.

My tummy was filled with warmth, and I found myself smiling a smile I thought I had lost.

"Hi! Where are you?"

"We're almost at the college, on the bus."

I nodded, and stood up to walk around in the cafeteria.

"I miss you." I said into the phone.

"You know.. we're not supposed to talk to each other like this.. It's officially Nialls week now."

My smile faded, and instead, I pressed the phone closer to my ear.

"But for the record, I miss you too." Zayn said low.

"I'm sorry, Zayn.." I said and stopped walking. "You didn't get the week you deserved, the week we deserved.. I blew it."

"No, you didn't.. Actually.. There's something I wanna talk to you abou-"

In the middle of his sentence, a loud beep was heard. Zayn cursed low before he got back.

"My battery is going to die, but Kath! We'll talk when I get back!"

"Yeah, I'll see you soon." I smiled.

"Bye, I lov-"

Another loud beep buzzed into my ear, and then the line broke. Zayns phone died. I sighed and started my way back to the table where Bim still sat.

"What did you guys talk about?" She asked casually.

"Oh, nothing, really.. His phone died, so we didn't really get the chance to talk about the important stuff."

".. The important stuff?" She asked and licked her carrot-tasting finger.

God, she's unbelieveble, I thought and laughed softly. So fucking curious.

"Yeah, well.. It's just hard, you know. This whole.. hexagon-thing.. I don't know how it's gonna work out.. If it's gonna work out.. God, I've never done anything like this before, I haven't even seen anyone doing it on a movie! I don't know the rules, what to do, what to say, how to connect with them.. It's just harder than I thought, that's all."

Bim nodded and carefully bit her carrot.

"Well, you don't have to do this if you don't want to.. You know that, right?"

"Yeah, I know that.." I said and nodded. "But I want to, I do.. But I have a feeling that their weeks won't change anything.. That it'll just make everything harder.. Because right now, I'm feelig way more confused than when I first got here. Walking away from Harry was so painful, and I can't imagine going through the same thing four more times.."

"Maybe it will get easier after every boy?" She suggested.

"Yeah, maybe. But I don't think so. I mean, Zayns week ended yesterday, and I'm not ready to let him go yet. I have a feeling that leaving him will be just as tough as leaving Harry, if not tougher.. Am I a terrible person if I say that I'm barely even happy to start my week with Niall? It's not like I don't have feelings for the guy anymore, they might have just.. faded a bit." I said and poked in my salad.

"Look, I can't ever possible understand what you're going through, and we've had our ups and downs.. But you can always come and talk to me, always. Just like I know I can always talk to you." Bim smiled and took another bite.

I giggled and layed my hands on hers.

"Yes, I know. It feels really good to just pour my heart out, actually." I said and Bim nodded. "So.. what are you doing for Halloween? Are you staying here?"

"Where do I have to go? It's not like I'm up for going home again, and I don't really have any other relatives, except my dads sister, Alberta.. And all I'm saying is; like brother, like sister.." She sighed.

"Aouch.." I winced.

"Yeah. So I'm just staying here, no big. What about you, I know you had plans, right?"

"Yeah, I'm going home for Halloween." I smiled. "It's going to be fun, my mom's a big fan of this holiday, so she's preparing this huge party.."

"That sounds like fun. And by the way, I'm with your mom in this. I love Halloween too." She winked.

"Okay, don't ever wink at me while you're eating a carrot again." I said and we both laughed.

"I can see the bus!" Some guy suddenly shouted.

Bims racing-skills on the tv-game suddenly wasn't important anymore. I bounced up from my seat, and leaned down the hall, and he was right. A large bus came rolling in on the big parking lot, and after it, three others came. My heart started to beat, and my face started to shine brighter than the sun. I ran down the stairs, and saw the doors open, and the building slowly starting to fill up with students again. Just as I walked down to find Zayn in the sea of sweaty people and heavy bags, I walked past the principal.

"Good trip?" I asked her.

"Yes, you really missed out on something." She said with a polite smile, and went back to moving along with the stream of people.

"Zayn?" I shouted and looked around if anyone reacted. "Zayn?"

"Kath?!" Someone shouted ahead of me, a little to the left.

"Zayn, where are you? I can't see you!"

"Shut up, people are trying to get past." A guy spat at me, but he was suddenly being pushed hard in the stomach by someone.

"What's with the attitude?" Harry said with dark eyes.

The dude shook his head and ran off. I turned to Harry with a thankful smile.

"You really didn't have to do that." I said and looked down.

"That guy was a douchebag, someone had to put him into place." Harry grinned.

I nodded, he was right. I suddenly realized how much I had missed his scanning gaze, up and down my body. If there was anything Zayn was missing, it was Harrys hypnotizing eyes. But I quickly shaked the comfortable feeling off my body, what was I doing?

"Well, thanks again, but I gotta go.. find Zayn.." I said and pointed at the direction I had heard him from.

"Yeah, he's somewhere over there.. But hey, Kath!" He shouted after me. "We should catch up! As friends, I mean!"

"Y-yeah, sure.." I said and turned my back against him.

Really, I wasn't that sure, it didn't sound like a good idea. But I didn't have to figure it out now, the only thing I had to figure out, was where Zayn was. I penetrated through the crowd, while shouting Zayns name. Suddenly, I got an answer.

"Kath, I'm here!"

I turned around, and faced him. I quickly jumped up in his arms and hugged him hard.

"Hey, you.." I said aginst his skin.

I wanted to kiss him so badly, but was it a good thing to do? His week was over, I knew that. Maybe I didn't wanna risk things with Niall. So instead of kissing him, I just pulled away, and looked up at him.

"How are you? How was the trip?" I asked with an excited tone.

"I'm fine, and it was.. surreal. I learned a lot, actually."

"Well, I'm happy for you." I smiled with crossed arms.

"So, the thing I wanted to talk to you about.. can we like.. sidebar?" He asked closer to my ear, and I nodded.

I flinched a little when he took my hand, but I didn't stop him. We walked to the side of the room, and he put his bags down.

"So.. I have a suggestion." He said.

"Okay.. bring it on." I smiled, curious.

He looked a little nervous before he slammed his hands together and started talking.

"Okay, I just found out that my parents aren't going to be home for Halloween, and usually, my mom is just like your mom. She throws this big party with all my relatives and stuff, but this year, my parents aren't going to be home. They're in South Africa, and I kinda.. I don't wanna be pushy, or annoying.. but, but maybe I could like.. I don't know, like.."

"You could what?" I asked, amused by his shyness.

"Maybe like.. come with you? To your place? Look, I totally get it if you.."

"Sounds good." I interrupted him with a smile.

"Wait.. You think so?" He asked surprised.

"Yeah, I do! It's brilliant. I bet my family would love to meet you."

"R-really? Well.. that's.. that's great!" Zayn laughed and embraced me into a hug.

This time, I couldn't resist to kiss him.

Notes

Hi guys! I know this chapter was pretty long, but it is only because I won't be able to update later this week. Trust me, I already feel bad about it. I'll maybe update tomorrow if I find the time, before the trip, but don't get your hopes up. I hope you appreciate this long chapter, though, and like it! I'll see you soon. Love, A.
