Chapter 13
I was shaking like it was below zero as Liam and I went back into Niall's room. He called for Liam but Liam just looked at me, letting me have control of the situation.
I finally managed to speak, "Niall, Liam is over in the chair over there and I'm your doctor."
Niall's eyes unfocused an unnatural amount.
I went over to him, "I'm just going to check your vitals and make sure everything is working okay before we talk."
I reached out for Niall's arm to check his blood pressure. As soon as my hand came in contact with his arm, he gasped and jerked his arm away.
He muttered an apology before giving me his arm again. I checked his blood pressure, which was fine, before getting my stethoscope to check his heartbeat. I told him to take deep breaths each time I put the stethoscope somewhere else. He nodded. I started checking different areas and I noticed Niall's breathing was picking up and his heartbeat was getting quicker. I stopped, realizing the signs of a panic attack.
I touched Niall's arm, "Niall, calm down. You're okay."
But it didn't help. He started shaking and his eyes were dilating. I looked over at Liam and he read what I was trying to say. He went over and tried to calm Niall.
Niall's breathing became labored, "I hear her voice. Liam, why do I hear Hadley's voice?"
Liam opened his mouth to respond but I shook my head. I had to sedate Niall so he would calm down and it was the hardest thing I've ever done, well besides leaving Niall. When he was calmed down and temporarily knocked out, I finished his physical. I turned to Liam and tried not to freak out myself.
I said "Liam, what do we do?"
He sighed looking a few years older than he really is, and said "We have to tell him it's you, Hadley. There's nothing else we can do. He's going to drive himself crazy if we don't. He's been through enough."
