A week passed and Kat had to go back to the clinic to see if the treatment was working and that her body wasn't rejecting the fertilized egg. Since it was carefully monitored in vitro,they would be able to tell about 10 times sooner if the egg had attached itself to her womb.
They were told it had worked and that she was given a hormone shot to stabilize the egg.In just two weeks they would know if she was pregnant or not and go from there. Kat was scared and excited at the same time. Now all she could do was pray.She needed to be pregnant so she could help her parents.
The first episode of the show aired that night in the UK, US, Australia and Canada .It had rave reviews. The interaction between Kat and the boys was hilarious. Kat even put Niall on a vegetarian diet at one point as she sat and chewed on a chicken leg in his face. People couldn't wait for the next episode.
Speaking of next episode. They would find out along with the rest of the world if Kat was pregnant. Sam couldn't wait. She already had merchandise deals lined up.
Kat turned off the T.V and looked towards the boys. She was upset and somewhat freaked out by what she had saw.Part of her gynecological exam was aired and she didn't even know they had cameras in there. Mostly, she was hurt that they didn't tell her about that part.
"Why didn't you guys tell me EVERYTHING would be filmed?",she said on the verge of tears.
"Hun, we had no idea about that. We were told only in-house activities would be filmed.",Liam said sitting beside her.The way he said it made her believe him.
"Looks like they even had cameras in the van.",Louis pointed out.
Liam held up a finger shushing everyone as he took out his phone. He pushed a few buttons and sent a text to Lou. It said,"From Now On, Anything important or private..we text it.Got it? If yes,just nod."
Louis nodded and forwarded the message to Zayn, who forwarded it to Niall who sent it lastly to Harry and Kat.
Liam sat stroking his chin. If Ms. Kincaid wants to do things without their knowledge, they could do the same to her. She couldn't put a camera everywhere.
The woman sat staring blankly at the screen as a horrified scream tore out of her throat. She had been busy working and never saw the stuff about the contest or anything. Now this bitch,Kat was living with her 5 husbands. No, this was too much for the biggest directioner left in the world. This Kat bitch was going down. The odd lady sat yanking on her hair while she ate a carrot, smiling as she remembered all those years ago Louis saying he liked a girl who eats carrots.
"No ! Jimmy said in a protestic manner!" she yelled out and laughed like a mad woman. One Direction Infection Indeed.
~2 weeks Later~
Kat and the guys were on their way to the clinic.They would find out today if the procedure worked. She prayed fervently to just about every god she could think of.If she was pregnant,in about 8 months she would be on her way home with that much needed cash.Soon her head was spinning and she felt like she was going to be sick as little spots passed before her eyes.
"Li,pull over!"
"What, no, we'll be late."
"Li, she doesn't look so good. Pull over,man!"Zayn yelled at him.
Liam pulled over to the curb and Kat threw her door open and leaned out, not even getting out of her seat. Niall watched her and became sick too. Ah, yes, the domino effect. Harry held her hair as Louis rubbed her back.
"Hey, she's sick and it's morning.",Louis said.
"So?"Harry asked with a raised eyebrown.
Only Liam seemed to catch what Lou was saying and grabbed the seat,turning to face him,"You think this means..?"
"I do."
"Guys, calm down. I think maybe breakfast just didn't agree with me.",Kat said,trying to calm them down.
"Kat,lass, ya had waffles. How can you get sick from frozen waffles?",Niall asked her, not understanding as no food ever made him sick.
"Look,none of us are doctors,lets get her to that damn clinic so they can figure out what's going on with KitKat here,okay?",Zayn fussed.
Niall handed Kat one of Liam's sanitary wipes to clean her mouth as he wiped his own. Thank god for Liam and his magic backpack with anything you could need in it. He then gave her a bottle of water to help settle her stomach.
"Kat can I ask you a personal question?",Louis said trying to take her mind off of worrying.
"Sure,Lou. I'm an open book."
"After you have the baby, would you still be classified as a virgin?"
"Ewww, why ask that?",she said punching his arm.
Louis laughed and looked at Harry who was looking Kat up and down, He instantly regretted asking her that when he saw Harry's face. There was nothing that Harry loved more in this world than a virgin.
Twenty minutes later,Kat sat on the exam table freezing, waiting for the doctor to come back with her results. She had already been back here for almost two hours, talking to the doctor and getting her vitals checked.What was taking him so long to come back? Was something wrong?
"Kat?"
"Oh, good, I was beginning to worry. Am I okay?"
"Well, I have your results here if you would like to see them."
Was she ready for this? What if it said negative? She took a deep breath then asked the doctor if he wouldn't mind reading them for her.
"Sure thing. You are indeed pregnant. The egg has rooted into the womb solidly. There's just one minor thing. When it attached, it was divided in two. Kat,you're having twins."
Twins. Two babies. This wasn't part of the deal. What if they kicked her out for it. Would she be stuck with two babies alone. Kat began to panic.
"Shall we go out and tell the guys?", the doctor asked.
It's now or never. What would they say? Guess she would find out in a few minutes.
When Kat and the doctor walked out, the guys jumped up,knocking over several chairs.
"Is she ok?Is she sick? Is she dying?",Louis asked
"No,nothing like that. She's just a little pregnant.", the doctor told them.
They all rushed to hug Kat when Niall stopped them,"Wait,will we hurt her and the baby if we hug her?"
"No, Ni, you won't hurt me or the babies at all."
"Wait,did you say babies?",Harry said ,taking a hold of her arms.
Kat nodded at him,"Yep,twins."
Liam came up and pulled her into a big hug,picking her up and spinning her around.
"Liam,don't! You could break her!"Niall panicked.
The doctor laughed at the way they were acting then cleared his throat,"Could one of you come with me to get Katrina's vitamins and food lists and schedule her next appointment,please?"
"I'll go with you,Sir,"Liam said setting Kat back down.
Zayn walked up to Kat and took her head in his hands,kissing her nose,"Now we gotta suffer through a preggo chicks moods swings,huh?"
"Yeah,don't make me get all hormonal on you Malik.", Kat laughed punching him in the gut.
Liam came back out with two small bags,folding some paperwork.
"Whatcha got there,Li?"
"Kat's instructions and vitamins which, incidentally, Kat, you have to take these with your next meal, so at lunch you'll take one of each,okay?
"Yes,Mr. Payne.",Kat sassed.
"I see she's been hanging out with Lou too much.",which earned him a punch on the arm from both of them.
As they walked out to the van, Harry asked Kat if she wanted anything before they went home.
"I need a coffee so bad.Can we get Starbucks?"
"No, absolutely not, young lady. Coffee is now a no-no. It's on the disapproved foods list along with Tuna and Strawberries.All you can have now is herbal teas.",Liam said going into full on Daddy Direction mode.
Kat hated tea. Never drank the stuff. Not even southern sweet iced tea and yet here she was in a whole country of tea fans. She was going to die from coffee withdrawl.
"Is he going to be like this the whole time?" Kat whined.
"Pretty much, get used to it.",Harry said, giving her a sympathetic look.
Kat glared at Liam then.
"Ooh, damn, with the look she's giving you,Payne, I don't think you're going to make it until she delivers,she's going to rip off your face.",Zayn said shoving Liam.
"Kat, you can still have chocolate.",Niall said handing her a huge chocolate bar from Liam's Niall snack pack.
"Thankies,Ni."
The bar was soon snatched out of her hand by Liam."You can have chocolate,in small amounts, don't get carried away." he lectured, breaking off just four small segments.
"Ass!"
"It's for your own good and that of the babies,don't question me,Katrina."
"He's going to drive me crazy,isn't he?", Kat questioned the others
"Most definitely!",Louis told her.
"Well,shit."
Liam turned then and put his hands on his hips, "Watch your language as well, the children will hear you."
"Oh for fuck's sake, they are still eggs,Liam."
"Life begins at conception,Kat.",Liam gave her a odd look getting in the van.
Kat stood there for a moment looking confused. Why was he being so hard on her? She did nothing wrong.
"Don't worry about him,Kat. He's just remembering something from the past.",Louis said giving Niall a knowing look.
"What does his past have to do with me?"
"I'll explain when we're alone sometime okay?",Niall said, trying to offer some comfort as they ushered her into the van.
Soon they were back home and Kat was starving. Liam and Harry cooked lunch for everyone. Kat didn't get a burger though, she got a mixed greens salad with chicken and a glass of milk along with the huge vitamin she almost choked on. Yummy. Liam really was becoming a pain. He even tried to follow her to the bathroom,lecturing her all the way to wipe from front to back and use the wet wipes to ensure cleanliness. When she couldn't take anymore, she locked herself in her room hoping they would just leave her alone. She laid on her bed for a little while and was almost asleep when there was a small knock on her door.
"Go away!"
Another small knock and then nothing. Kat got up and opened the door and laying there on the floor was 5 Tesco bags and a note laying on top.
It read ~The list did say decaf was okay and it's wrong to deny any woman her chocolate Don't tell Liam~
Kat quickly drug all the bags into her room and opened them, revealing decaf coffee, candy bars, all things gummy, a small water heater for the coffee and bottles of purified water. In the other bags she found snacks galore. All kinds of goodies. She left out a big chocolate bar and shoved the other bags under her bed. Whoever did this was an angel. She just wondered how they found time to get all of this to her. Maybe a grocery delivery service?
Arrabella stood in the secret corridor of the rental house breathing heavily. Those bags were heavy. She was glad she was a quick thinker. Now Kat had contraband in her room and when the episode aired with Kat eating all that junk food, Liam would go ballistic. Arra could see the ratings soar as her and Sam's bank accounts grew fat. This was her best idea ever.
Sam sat at her desk watching the live feed of the hosue activities. This was rich. She jotted down a few notes on her Ipad. Ways to make controversy and find out about Liam's past before Niall told Kat.
