Chapter 29: Our New Song (Tori’s P.O.V.)
I couldn’t believe that I was going to be recording a single with the guys. It was unbelievable. That was all that I could think about as I waited for Liam to come pick me up. So far, I had kept my promise to him and not gone anywhere by myself, I had been calling him to pick me up. I felt like a burden, but he just told me that he didn’t mind.
I smiled as I saw that familiar car pull up outside my house.
“Later Mom!” I called before I raced out of my room for the front door. I stopped for a brief moment to rub Ranger’s head and tell him goodbye. Then I was outside and practically skipping to the car.
“Someone sure is happy this morning,” Liam smiled as I slid into the passenger seat.
I continued to smile as I turned to reply, “I am.”
“Did you sleep well?” he asked as he raised an eyebrow. I could tell that he really wasn’t sure why I was so happy.
I happily said, “Because I get to record a song with you guys today.”
He smiled back, “Yeah that is something to be happy about.”
Liam turned his attention back to the road in front of us as he prepared to pull back out onto the street. As he checked the traffic, I reached over and turned on the radio. He smiled at this as he pulled out and began the drive to the recording studio that we would be recording out song at.
In about twenty minutes, we had arrived at our destination. I could barely contain my excitement. This was my dream come true. And I believe, Liam knew this too.
“Let’s get inside,” he motioned to the doors, “The other guys are waiting.”
I grinned as we walked inside. I felt my hand absentmindedly go to the necklace around my neck. I could feel my heart warm as my fingers wrapped around the cold metal.
“Tori!” the guys yelled as I entered our studio behind Liam.
“Hey guys,” I smiled as I began to give out hugs. Zayn was the last person I hugged, so I stayed by him. “So what is the song that we are doing?”
The guys looked at each other, a knowing look being passed to each other. The grins that they were sharing were making me suspicious.
“What?”
Louis was the first to talk, “We aren’t recording one song.” He never lost his smile as he began to explain, “We are planning to record more than one song today.”
My face lit up as I realized what words had just left his mouth. “Are you serious?”
They all smiled as Harry answered me, “Yeah.”
Niall leaned an arm on his shoulder as he added, “Two.”
“We get to record two songs,” I was practically beginning to bounce up and down in excitement.
They all nodded back as Liam said, “Yeah.”
I hugged them all against before we turned to start working. I waited eager as we all sat down and went over the song together. It didn’t take me long to learn it and we were quickly ready. One at a time, we would file in to the recording room before we would switch and move into another part of the song.
“Isn’t it done yet?” Louis whined. He was talking to Harry and Niall as they were sitting at the board and reviewing the song to make sure that it had all recorded correctly. They just continued to ignore him. I couldn’t blame them, because that was about the fifth time he had asked in three minutes. I was currently sitting next to Zayn with my head resting on his shoulder.
“It’s done,” Niall finally said as he sat his headphones down. It was almost immediately that he started the track for all of us to hear.
I smiled as the mediate upbeat opening began playing before a voice began to pour out.
Liam:
“I see you there,
Not wanting to be seen,
But I want to tell you,
I want you here with me.”
Harry:
“Music up,
The lights down,
Bodies moving,
To the beat of the sound.”
Niall:
“We’re going out tonight,
It’s time to have some fun,
And just let loose.”
The Guys:
“I’m gonna hit the dance floor,
And party like there’s no tomorrow.
Scream a song,
At the top of my lungs,
Let’s rock the world tonight,
And party like there’s no tomorrow.”
Louis:
“You’re just perfect,
Just what I wanted tonight,
So let’s get out of here,
And see if you and I are right”
Harry:
“Hips swaying,
Hearts racing,
As we all,
Just have fun”
Niall:
“We’re going out tonight,
It’s time to have some fun,
And just let loose.”
The Guys:
“I’m gonna hit the dance floor,

At the top of my lungs,

Zayn:
“Girl… I know that you didn’t come here for me,
But I sure came here for you,

No matter what I have to do”
Tori (Me):
“Well, boy… think that’s all it takes,
Just to get me your way,
But I hate to let you know,
That I’m not that easy.”
“I went out tonight,
Looking to have some fun,
And just let loose.”
Zayn:
“Well if I can’t have you,
Then I think I’ll just have to settle for now…
Everyone:

Tori (Me):
“Party like there’s no tomorrow.”
Niall:

Louis:

I loved the way those last lines of everyone’s overlapped and pulled it all together. The song was great. I really couldn’t believe that I had just recording that song with the guys. It was so unbelievable.
“That was great,” Louis said as he bounced around. “Let’s record the other one.”
We all smiled and agreed with him. We couldn’t wait to get back to work.
