story time and frustrations, page 2
I feel like too much sex in a story just kills the vibe. The suspense of waiting for your OTP in the story to have it, is much more thrilling. Plus, i feel like the popular page doesn't do much justice, i had a few of my stories on it for a few weeks at most, but even then. I feel like it should be a chance for good writers to get a chance for their story to shine. Although we are on a fan fiction website, this site could home an amazing writer, that could end up making an #1 best selling novel. Without proper guidance they may never reach that....Yet the writers here who claim they're very good are dreadful. Although the story line may be good, there has to be something in the story that appeals to all ages, and not just one category of teens.
@dontjockmystyles
Agreed! There's something so exciting about waiting for the moment you know is about to happen to just happen and then you internally scream with joy and dance around hoping that no one sees.
@pippalove
lol that's funny, yeah like in most stories you know what's gonna happen, like sex, but in mystery stories and thrillers your just so excited to know whats gonna happen, in some stories. Cause basically everyone writes stories that some of there parents don't even let them see yet or read.
@dontjockmystyles
Totally, and i hate predictable stories, or stories that are really, really, disturbing. For example, mentioning something you know would never happen, or having the boys just be normal lads (if in case the story is about their fame). Some stories just have these awful predicaments.
@dontjockmystyles
YES!!! Agreed! I can't handle when things become predictable either. I mean predictive suggestives are nice, but ya know... put a spin on it.
I hate the constant same story line over and over and over and over. I mean, yeah, some story lines are good and I'm not saying it's a terrible thing if you write a story about the same thing someone else did, but you should make it interesting and stand out if you do. Put something in your story that isn't in the others. Or, I don't know, think of something else to write about besides a teacher student relationship, or where Harry is your stepbrother, be creative.
I literally agree with everything you all have been saying. I've been watching this thread and nodding along aggressively this whole time!
The overused tropes that @MidnightMemory mentioned has literally like taken the words out of my mouth! I need new stories with themes that haven't been used 100 times.
Also I have to say description is lacking a lot in stories on this website. Like I can read a story and have no idea where the character is or what the area looks like other then perhaps someone mentioning there at the beach! Like description should be a massive part of word count! (Just my little tid bit haha)
@ImpulsiveFreedom
AGREED! So glad you decided to comment and not just read :)
Imagery and description should be something really focused on and developed as much as writers can allow themselves to. Unfortunately as you've already pointed out, word count should be massive - yet most stories sit low and well.. behold, lack substance.
Hello everyone! Please read my story We Aren't Much Different Though! :) please! :)

I wanna read something completely different - like an orphan story based around the second world war, or maybe even a horror like Wolf Creek or the Blair Witch Project. Ideas are rolling..
