Zayn - Pillowtalk, page 2
@Kady Hunt
My music taste doesn't even include One Direction and IIII bought In the AM XD while boy bands have never been my style, 1D has gotten very mature.WMYB is ghastly but the vocal harmonies on Drag Me Down are great (I know I'm naming big name songs but whatever). It's like comparing nevershoutnever!'s old stuff to their new stuff-the old stuff is what everyone fell for but it's childish when played with the recent stuff.
All my bias aside though, I truthfully think Liam is an underrated vocalist and I'm stoked to see what he does. I don't really feel what Zayn's done but it could just be that song. Like I said before, the rest of his album could come out and we could find out everything on it is better than Pillowtalk so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now :)

Look for me as well, this is sort of a guilty pleasure. But I'm not ashamed to admit that I do like their older stuff too I mean Harry Styles is no Eddie Vedder lol but that's not the point. They're a nice looking bunch of guys, they're supposed to be eye candy! That's the whole point of a boy band! At least these kids know how to sing, some boy bands don't even give a damn about that and Harry himself admits it which is what I love about that guy---that he kind of knows what he is and doesn't apologize for it! I find that quality extremely HOT in anyone! That he doesn't take it seriously but like I said, they're still young! Too young for people to expect them to make mature decisions and this whole Team Zayn/Team Harry thing is rather absurd and I think they should all be cut some slack. Honestly, I don't even like that people do this to Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus. So what if Miley dresses up like that? Who is ANYONE to tell ANY legal adult what to wear and what not to wear or how to dance? That whole morality police business is absurd. Especially cause she happens to have female parts. No one tells Justin Beiber how to dress up or Harry Styles not to twerk or have sex with all those women! And people bust Beiber's balls over the stuff he does but didn't we all make mistakes growing up? I know I did! I have four other siblings and though we're all different from one another they all made mistakes and learned! It's a part of growing up! So what if Zayn turns out to be at fault or Harry and the boys do eventually, does it really matter? The reason they're being assaulted is because their mistakes are public. So everyone with an opinion thinks they can just rip celebrities apart for these pointless things. It's not fair. And you can't say that it's because they are public property, come on! You don't OWN anyone that's not how it works, this is supposed to be a civilized society for goodness sake! Sorry I'm ranting but this stuff has been pissing me off more than I realized lol
@Kady Hunt
Aaaaaaaaand as a Guns N' Roses fanatic, this is how I feel about Axl Rose XD
(side note, are people seriously playing the team shit with the Zayn/1D thing? I thought we were over that O.o)
I don't like the Beebs because his songs are repetitive, in my opinion. Miley Cyrus though is one of my "guilty pleasures" (I'm not quite as embarassed to say I like her as much as I am when I tell people that I still listen to Motley Crue's newer stuff). I actually have been developing an appreciation for her because unlike a lot of pop princesses (Taylor, Selena, Demi, whoever), Miley knows she's fucked up and she's totes cool with it. You get the ones like Taylor Swift who are all but nominating themselves for Queen of the Universe because they're so much better than everyone (ur jus jelus becuz tay-tay haz mor awards then uuuu) where Miley's a freak, Miley knows she's a freak, Miley embraces being a freak. I don't so much condone the way Cyrus goes about it (it's still a little attention-whore-y), but the fact that she doesn't give a shit about everyone hating her twerking is pretty nice. Taylor flipped shit on Tina Fey and Amy Pohler and said "there's a special place in Hell for women who don't stick up for other women" because they poked fun at her...they're comedians...it's their job to poke fun. And if you can't laugh at yourself, then who the Hell is going to like you? Half of 1D's videos, they don't take themselves seriously in. Even I can like them for that.
Anyway, back on the whole Zayn/1D thing, I do still think the dude's a dick but I won't deny him credit for having a good voice. And his decisions affect his pay check, not mine so that's just another reason not to take what he says/does to heart. I pretty much feel the same way about Harry. Harry can do what he wants and at the end of the day, yeah everyone has their opinions, but it doesn't interfere with our daily lives so really, why bother getting upset? All you're doing then is promoting that person that much more. Even negative attention is straight attention and that's just enough to get someone off.
Does any of this make sense? I feel like I went off on a tangent and I lost my map XD
@Call_Me_Godot
OMG I love GNR!!! And Rolling Stones and Aerosmith! Led Zepplin...I grew up on all these and I love Pearl Jam and Nirvana too Im a huge fan of grunge. my dad had an awesome record collection so I'm so thankful to him for that. Honestly. Sweet Child of Mine and November Rain, Stairway to Heaven, sigh I can never get these tunes out of my head.
and dont worry about going off on tangents lol I pretty much do the same all the time. And I completely agree with you on the female singer thing I cannot stand them to be honest except for Miley and for the EXACT same reasons. As for JB again---COMPLETELY agree his stuff is very repetitive you hear one song you feel like you've heard everything else lol but whtever I dont judge anyone for liking it so that's fine.
@Kady Hunt
Ooooh I don't do the grunge. Though Eddie Vedder's voice is freaking amazing. Have you seen the video where they performed Rock In the Free World with Neil Young?
I had the 80s prep and the 80s blue-collar-bar-regular for parents so I grew up on a mix of Bowie and Madonna, and Sabbath and Motley XD my first words were Mr. Crowley (dear ol' dad taught me to talk with Ozzy songs). I spent the better half of my childhood thinking I'd grow up and be Axl Rose.
Musically I was super naive when I was little. NSync and BSB were HUGE still and when asked who my favourite boy band was I'd say Motley Crue or Black Sabbath- I thought a boy band was just a band made up of guys, not like an actual genre. 1D is my first boy band >.> I'm 20 lol
(no I used to like Poison....you could almost call them one)
@Call_Me_Godot
Actually you're right! Liam bloody ROCKED the X Factor performances! lol Which means he was already pretty damn good even the judges were sort of stunned, right? For me it's the voice but it's also about the song lyrics A LOT. So, yeah, that's probably why R&B is my least favorite genre but I did listen to zayn's song and have to say it was pretty good. The guy has potential.
Personally, I like In The A.M. I think they're getting maturer over time but Midnight Memories was pretty good too.
