'After' as a movie, page 9
I enjoyed reading after. There are a couple of "interesting" parts and the second book stars off with a major plot twist. But they are completely mainstream. They are just on and off, and fighting all the time. I really don't know why it got so popular. I read the first chapter 5 times and thought,"screw this!" Before I actually read it. I'm not even done with the 3rd book because I'm bored of it. I totally agree it shouldn't be that popular and become a movie.
@NiallsNandos
I honestly dont see what's wrong with it. Even if there is alot of stories with that plot, there was obviously something that made it different from the rest. I do respect your perspective on it, as everyone is entitled to there own opinion. Didn't you write bad meets good? Not in a rude way! Just wondering.
:D

I do respect your perspective on it, as everyone is entitled to there own opinion. Didn't you write bad meets good? Not trying to be rude! But isn't that basically good girl, bad boy. (Yeah I know thats the title sort of) I don't mean to be mean, lol.

She did and maybe it's because of its 8 zillion reads but maybe because it has 300 freaking chapters... Per book. I don't know. It's not that the story is bad per se... Just that the story isn't really good enough to be turned to a movie in our opinion. Unoriginal plot, recurring incidents, too many chapters, bad grammar.... It just makes it hard for certain serious writers to see what's so great about it.
also, she stated that her story would be mainstream and all when she wrote it but it was one of the best good girl/bad boy stories. I have actually read a lot of really good non fan fiction ones like that. I really like what @NiallsNandos did with her story... It's not a point of never writing an unoriginal story because even I have a few. It's just taking an overused idea and making it your own and I think After just held too many cliches and such.
@BulletproofLove
I know mine was good girl meets bad boy , but thats when I was just starting out . I even admitted in the earlier comments that it was mainstream . And even though its pretty popular on this site , I'm not as proud of it as I should be . Like , I read my own story when I started Bad Meets Evil , and I was like 'how the fuck did this get popular ?' but people tell me its because even though it has a mainstream plot , it wasn't a mainstream story . And to this day , I still don't think its that good . I've even thought about taking it down , but I also don't wanna lose how many views and votes it got on it . That part , I'm actually proud of . But 'After' ... thats a mainstream plot and a mainstream story . She could've at least had a mainstream plot , but made her story original , and maybe I possibly could've liked it a little bit .
@audrey.
Ah I see what you mean now. I didn't get it at first. But yeah. Well, it'd probably be the most repetitive chick flick ever. I think they just pocked it because of the amount of reads.
