'After' as a movie
@NiallsNandos
Agreed!
Compared to some of the other stuff that you read or skim across that is absolutely phenomenally written and poetically put, it's (After) is getting way too much attention for something mediocre. (Not saying my stuffs great but it shits me off when people with real talent don't get acknowledgement and others do).
You read further than me. I only got to the end of chapter 4 and was like 'fuck it!'
@NiallsNandos
Neither is Dark. Appologies if you like it; but I can't get into it or see the amazed brilliance everyone else claims it has.
Not to brag, but I've written a lot of things that are very unique that I'm proud of and if I was the writer... I'd be pretty upset. If any of my stories ever became movies, I'd want it to be... Misfit, The Puppet, Keep Holding On, or Savage. Those are my most original and after about the first chapter of After, I got bored and stopped reading. The plot line is typical and in all honesty, it just doesn't draw my attention the way it should.
@stephanierose
Yeah . 'Dark' and 'After' are fandom-famous stories , but they're boring . But if I had to choose between 'After' and 'Dark' , I would choose 'Dark' because at least stuff happens in it , plus we'd get to see Harry as a boxer lol .
@Kay_Baby
I agree completely . I'm writing a mermaid story right now called 'Beauty Under The Sea' , but not a lot of people know about it because they look for stories with typical mainstream plot lines . I feel you .
@NiallsNandos
That still only just makes Dark win over for me. As you've said, even though they are fandom-famous; they're still incredibly banal.
I'd really like to read something raw and edgy and completely out there that you wouldn't expect but it seems like it's pointless.
@stephanierose
Completely pointless . Its like this fandom bases their stories off of other Directioner's stories . Like , be a original . Ya know ? I admit , my first story was mainstream , but I was just starting out you know ? Seemed easy to write so I went for it . I'm surprised at how popular its gotten too . But that's just it . Mainstream stories get popular . Unique ones get nothing .
@Kay_Baby
It dumb . Plus they boys would get to see it .... I dont know aboit you guys but id be pretty embarrassed
@Can't blame a gurl
It'd be awkward as hell. None the less.
@NiallsNandos
Once again, completely agreed. I'm more than happy to admit the same thing; my first story now being redone is completely cliche, but I try and write anything else and no one bothers to even try it out.
@Can't blame a gurl
Can't fault you on that comment. I've spent the last few hours trying to come up with something original and fresh and so far I've only got 291 words.
Might be in this for the long haul.
@Can't blame a gurl
Thanks love :) I feel like its not that good though . I barely get anything on it .
Please don't give me hate , I'm just stating my opinion . In all honesty , I don't see what's so great about 'After' . Dont get me wrong , im happy for the girl who wrote it , but im just like .. Why ? I mean , in 'After' , the plot is just a squeaky clean good girl falls for a troubled boy , which is most of the fanfiction in this fandom so why is this one so special ? I went to the first book of 'After' and only read up to page 70-something because I got bored of it . They're literally just on and off . I'm reading a couple of fan fictions right now that are far better than 'After' , yet they're not fandom-famous . The fanfics I'm talking about are called 'Psychotic' and 'Phantom' . Those stories actually have really unique plot lines and they're original . I don't know if anyone has noticed this , but 'After' is just copied off of an ACTUAL BOOK called 'Beautiful Disasters' . Which proves my point of 'After' lacking originality . Like I said , I'm happy for this girl and I'm happy for our fandom , but I just don't think the book was that good to be made into a movie .
