Chapter 17: Sir and Missy
Louis’s POV
I walked out of the hotel room in tears and found Sage standing in the hallway with arms across her torso. She looked at me as my eyes shot to my feet. I felt her arms wrap around my ribs before pulling me into her chest so I hugged her neck, resting my ribs on my forearm.
“I cant just sit and watch him give up.” I breathed out to her as a rush of emotions hit me. “He isn't just giving up on himself but all of us.”
“He loves you Louis.” She kept trying to make me feel better.
“He doesn’t even know who I am.” I leaned back and looked into her hazel eyes.
“He isn't himself, that medicine is putting him in a place where he doesn’t recognize you even though it’s taking away the pain and keeping him alive.” She was probably right. “My mom was the same way.”
“Do you think he’ll get better?” I asked, scared of the answer.
“I think he will.” She raised her hands to my cheeks and touched my skin lightly. “He is a fighter, I think he can make it through anything. It isn't his time to go.”
He skin was soft as she wiped my cheeks dry. I know that no matter what, she will always be able to make me feel better. She is the one person that understands this situation more than anyone else could.
“Thank you Sage.” I tried to work up a smile but I don’t think it worked.
“You're welcome.” She leaned forward and kissed my cheek.
The sound of shuffling feet from down the long hallway grabbed our attention. My eyes shot down the hallway to an older man with tanned skin and a bald-head. Then to his right, there was a young woman with reddish hair and a skater-styled outfit walking next to him and two men behind them. The sight of them made me smile.
“They’re here.” I said quietly as I looked down at Sage who had a smile on her face too.
We watched them walk closer to us. I’m so happy to see them, maybe Uncle Denny can talk some sense into Papa Cy. And they’ll be a distraction.
“I heard you guys were up here.” My Uncle Denny was always positive so he was really good to be around. “It’s really nice to see you.” He hugged me and then hugged Sage.
We smiled at him and then watched him walk into the hospital room before Harry, Liam, Niall and Zayn walked out. I turned around and looked at my cousins.
“Hey” We greeted each other and took turns hugging them.
One by one we filled the room again and looked down at my grandpa. I looked into his chocolate brown eyes as they stared right through me. “He isn't himself” “He’s a fighter” just stay positive Louis. You know that even if he doesn’t pull through, you’ll never be alone. All the people in this room love and care about you and each other.
