Chapter 14: Director Harry
No One’s POV
“Sage and Liam, will you guys grocery shop?” Harry asked them as he looked down at the list he and Louis had come up with.
“Why don’t Niall and Liam go so I can book the rooms?” Sage offered shyly.
“That’s a smarter idea.” Harry mumbled as he scribbled something down on the list. “Sage, book the rooms. Niall and Liam, grocery shopping. I’ll start the laundry and Louis can you go make sure the Range Rover is running okay?”
“Sure.” Louis nodded and stood up to walk away but turned around to look at his friends. “Thank you guys.”
They all nodded and he continued to the garage while everyone else started doing their job. Sage looked up the hotel’s number and called immediately. Niall and Liam left to the store as soon as possible. Sage asked if they had a room with 3 beds and got it. Luckily nothing was really going on in Fortuna at the time so it was easy to get what they wanted. Once she was done with that she headed upstairs to pack. Harry was upstairs in the laundry room when Sage walked in.
“Hey.” She said quietly.
“Hey, did you get the room?” He asked in a rushed tone.
“Yea” She mumbled and walked away.
She didn't know how to act with Harry right now but she did with Louis because she’d been in the same situation with her mom. But Harry wasn’t acting normal, nobody was, he just seemed like he was trying to bury something inside. She ignored the feeling and went to pack.
Sage’s POV
“The car is packed and ready to go.” I said to Louis as he sat on his bed and I stood in the doorway.
“Okay.” He sighed standing up.
“Louis, I know that our situations are different but I kind of understand what you're dealing with so I’m here if you need to talk.” My words came out quickly and quietly but I knew he understood when he hugged my waist.
“Thank you Sage.” He mumbled into my shoulder while I wrapped my arms around his neck. “This is going to be a little easier knowing somebody understands it.”
“I’m here no matter what.” I whispered to his as my eyes filled with tears.
His grandpa was like a grandpa to all of us since we all were so close. I knew that this wasn’t going to be easy for any of us but especially not for Harry and Louis. They basically grew up together and spent summers with his grandpa so they were close.
“I love you Sage.” He said as he let me go.
“I love you too.” I saw that his cheeks were wet so I set my hands on his cheeks and wiped his tears away. “You’ll be okay Louis, everything will be.”
He nodded and sniffled before gesturing for me to go downstairs. I turned around and jogged down the stairs and went right out to the garage where everyone else was.
“-Thing else?” Liam asked and then looked at Louis and I. “You two ready?”
“Yup.” Louis said from behind me before I could think of a response.
“Okay, then lets go. I’m driving first.” Liam walked around to the front of the car and I followed.
“Can I sit in the front?” I asked Niall and Zayn.
“Sure.” They didn't seem to care so I got into the passenger seat next to Liam and set my bag down.
Harry and Louis climbed into the back row and got comfortable before Zayn and Niall got into the middle row. I looked over at Liam as he ran his fingers through his short hair.
“Everything’s gonna be okay Liam.” I said quietly while I touched his arm gently and he looked at me. “I know it sounds cliché but everything will be okay.”
“Thank Sage.” He did his famous smile and then buckled up. “Is everyone ready?”
“Yup.” They all mumbled and nodded.
Liam started the car and pullout of the garage before he closed it. I plugged my big, clunky iPod into the USB port so I could play some music. I found the Eagles and played them. When Liam was pulling onto the freeway, I looked into the back of the car and saw everyone trying to sleep.
“I guess it’s just us. What do you want to listen to?” I asked putting my feet up on the dashboard.
“I don’t care.” He shrugged.
I put on The Red Hot Chili Peppers and reclined my seat a little bit. We both took a deep breath and kept our eyes on the road.
