The Enemy [17+]

C H A P T E R 11

I returned to an empty hotel room and even more loneliness than when I left. After spending hours by myself, I picked up my phone and searched my contacts. When I got to Harry's, my finger lingered over the screen for a while.

Should I? Should I not?"

With one press I was already typing away. A long time after my make up was done, my heels were strapped and my favorite black dress was fitting me like a glove.

When I walked out of my building Harry's driver was already standing outside waiting for me. I was shocked, he was parked right in front of the building.

"How long have you been here?" I asked the driver, shocked.

"About an hour." He answered.

"How are you parked here? This is a no parking zone." I asked.

"Mr. Styles pulls strings." He winked. I walked toward the door but before the driver could open it, it opened from the inside. Harry stepped out in a casual suit with Italian leather shoes. When he laid eyes on me, a "wow" escaped his lips.

I held onto my black wool trench coat as he looked me up and down.

"I'll get the door for her, Dave." He said to the driver and with the tip of his chauffeur hat he was off to the driver's seat. Harry held the door open for me as I sat inside, and he ran around the car to get in the other side.

The car was silent until we ended up on Fifth Avenue. I looked at the expensive stores and then to Harry.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"To a restaurant on Park." Harry informed me. I groaned.

"What?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Don't you ever just want to take a girl out? Just on a normal date?" I asked.

"Stop the car." He told Dave and Dave immediately swerved to the side. Harry got out of the car and walked around swiftly to let me out also.

He shut the door behind me and tapped on top of the car twice, the New Yorker's way of saying you're good to go. Dave drove away and it was just Harry, me and the cold New York air.

"A normal date, huh?" He asked. "I can do normal."

"Oh really? Show me." I smiled as I held my trench coat closed.

"Well, let's just take a walk. No fancy restaurants or any of that." Harry suggested. We both began walking down Fifth and looked at all of the Christmas decorations of the stores. It was bright and beautiful, lights were everywhere.

"We have no idea how lucky we are." He said with his hands in pockets and his breath visible in the cold. "To be here, right now."

We got near the corner of Rockefeller center where the Christmas tree stands every year, and crowds were being controlled by the police.

We turned down there to see the tree. I could barely see it, but Harry could just fine. Even in my heels I tried to lift my head to see better.

"Let me help you there." Harry said. Before I could even say it was fine, I felt a strong arm wrap below my butt and boost me up. I was firmly against his side as he lifted me off the ground with one arm. I laughed as the crowd around us looked.

I looked up at the tree and got my phone out of my purse, awkwardly avoiding dropping it all. I snapped a photo of the tree and Harry rested me on the ground.

"Let's go across the street to Sax. They always have creepy mannequins on display." Harry said with furrowed brows.

"I love the mannequins!" I protested with a smile. Harry and I crossed the traffic with the large guard and pushed past people to get a glimpse of the brightly lit windows. Christmas theme mannequins vogued from behind the glass as others moved back and forth in a repetitive, robotic way.

"I love that one's coat." I noted as I looked at the mannequin. She stood still as she gazed up at the glistening lights of her display window.

"It'd look beautiful on you." Harry smiled and I nodded.

We walked down to Tiffany's and I went in front of the small display window. I sighed to see that there wasn't anything on display since it was late at night.

"Is it that late?" I asked and Harry shrugged. When I looked at the clock, I noticed it was 1:00 pm.

"I've got to go home." I said nervously. I knew Hunter would want me home at that hour.

"I'll call Dave." Harry said and got out his cellphone. With one call Dave was there in no time, at once we parked in front of my building I looked toward Harry before exitting the car.

"Thanks." I smiled. "I really had a good time tonight."

His eyes were wide, he seemed to be surprised. He didn't know how to reply.

"Wow, for once Styles has no rebudle." I joked and opened the door. Before I could fully opened it, he stopped me.

"Hey, Tai." Harry said as he held onto my arm. He got a wad of cash out of his pocket and handed it to me. I squinted down at the cash.

"I don't want your money." I said as I dropped the money into his lap. He bit his lip and rubbed his chin.

"I had a feeling you'd say that." He said. I rolled my eyes and got out of the car.

"You were so close to making this night about hanging out rather than your pecuniary status." I shook my head as I stood out of the car, then slammed the door.

When I got up to my hotel room, I shrugged off my jacket, kicked off my heels and shrugged off my dress. When I got to my hotel desk, a huge amount of money was sitting there. Of course Harry would make sure I'd get his money one way or another, he always acted that way.

I grabbed the wad of cash and threw it outside of the room, open for any passer by to pick it up.
