Only You

The more I thought about what Alex had said, the more I started thinking that there was something a little bit odd about it. It was Wednesday before I decided to say anything to my friend's over lunch though.

"Do you think I'm crazy?" I asked running a hand through my hair and leaning back in my chair, after telling them what had happened on Sunday, and what I thought about it. Harry was the first to speak as I had expected. I had braced myself for him being kind of pissed that I hadn't mentioned that I was going for lunch with her beforehand.

"I think your crazy for even going to lunch with her in the first place." He grunted as he took a bite out of his sandwich, "S, she's a psycho ex... of course there is something completely off about what she said!" He rolled his eyes and wouldn't look at me directly. His mood from last week had clearly dissipated at some point over the weekend and he had been fairly grumpy for the last few days. Louis looked at him for a second, nudged him hard and rolled his eyes before looking at me and ignoring Harry's protests of pain.

"S, I never got the same vibes from Alex that you guys did, I don't think she seems that bad. Maybe, give her a chance? You never know, Dean might mellow her out a bit... and the whole 'Jared's known for weeks' thing? Have you never exaggerated a time period before?" He asked me with a small smile. I nodded slowly, I mean he did make some sense, maybe I was just overthinking it? Harry looked appalled at the idea though. Throwing his sandwich back onto his tray suddenly, he stood up.

"She's a fucking nut job, end of story. I'm going to the study room." He spat at no-one in particular and stormed away. Eleanor looked between Louis and I shocked.

"What's his beef with this girl? He gets more wound up about her than you do..." She said, watching Harry put his tray away and then storm toward the exit. I hesitated. I wasn't sure if Louis had heard about the whole incident from the other weekend and if Harry hadn't told him, I didn't want to rat him out.

"Probably about last weekend..." Louis muttered as he rolled his eyes. Okay, so he did know. I told Eleanor the whole story of what had happened from start to finish after I woke up, and both Louis and her sat their silently listening as I recounted the events.

"... and then Gemma took Harry in the kitchen to calm him down, and Jensen dragged Alex out and took her home..." I said, taking a bite of my own sandwich now that my story was finished.

"Wow... Harry really has that kind of temper on him?" Eleanor asked, looking completely shocked. I nodded and looked toward Louis for some kind of reinforcement, but when I saw his expression, I felt all of the colour drain from my own face. I could tell that Harry had vaguely mentioned what happened to Louis, but I had just told him bits of the story that he hadn't heard before.

"I'll see you guys in a bit. I need to have a chat with Harry." His voice was strained as though he was holding back frustration as he stood from the table and walked away. I watched after him, willing him to come back, I didn't want Harry to be mad at me for saying something to Louis. I got lost in my own thoughts, and it was only Eleanor waving her hand in front of my face that brought me back to the room.

"Sorry, what did you say?" I asked her as I blinked and tried to focus my thoughts on her.

"I asked what the hell just happened?" She said with a bewildered and confused look on her face. I shrugged gently, I didn't always understand why they acted like they did.

"Well, I guess Harry just still hates Alex... and Louis acts like Harry's brother, so if Harry has only told him half a story to keep himself out of trouble, then I've just dropped him in it, and Louis is about to go and bollock him for something..." I said, that truthfully being how I had read the situation. She nodded slowly and turned back to her own lunch. I thought she had forgotten about it until she turned to me again.

"What I don't get, is, if Harry likes you, why would he hate Alex if he thinks that she is trying to take Jared from you?" I rolled my eyes and couldn't help but let a small laugh out.

"You are so wrong about how Harry feels about me! Harry doesn't like me, so that pretty much deals with that!" I shook my head in amused disbelief, she was adamant that she could see it in Harry's eyes. I had just decided that she didn't know Harry well enough.

"Oh yeah, sorry, forgot you're still pretending you don't see it. Never mind, I'll ask Lou." She said with a shrug.

"I'm sure he'll tell you the same thing!" I laughed as we stood up with our trays and dropped them off at the front of the hall.

"You'll see it someday." Was all she said as she followed me out of the hall and to the study room.
