The Enthralled Dream (re-writing)
09. Daydreams and Record Deals
Three weeks. That’s how long it’s been since that eventful morning. Dani still doesn’t know about anything that went down, which is for a reason. I don’t want the whole show to know about my family problems. Elden just so happened to have been coming back in from a workout.
I was currently sitting in the studio waiting for Louis to arrive for my rehearsal. I sat down at the piano and started playing notes together, singing lyrics that I had been working on.
“Was full of secrets locked up tight like iron melting
Running on empty, so out of gas
Thought I wasn't enough, and I wasn't so tough
Laying on the bathroom floor
We were living on a fault line
And I felt the fault was all mine
Couldn't take it anymore”
The memories played in my mind. That time that Marcus found me surrounded in so much blood. It was how he found out what was going on with my stepfather.
I jumped when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
“Woah, sorry, Elizabella. You okay?”
“Yeah, sorry. Got lost in my thoughts.”
“Sorry I’m late. Let’s get to work, if you’re okay to do it.”
“Are you kidding? Of course I’m ready.”
The upbeat music started, and I looked at the lyric sheet in front of me.
“Woah, woah,” I sang to start the song.
I started swaying and dancing along with it.
When the chorus hit, Louis stopped me.
“Okay, first verse is great. Try not to move that much on stage, you start to get a little shaky and you need to breathe before you try to hit that really high note. Let’s try it again.”
The music started again, stopping at the exact same place.
“Okay. I said don’t move that much. You went from moving a lot to standing as still as a statue. Still move so you can have good stage presence.”
The song started once again, and I swayed a little bit.
We ran through it many more times, and then Louis wanted to run it with me without the lyrics, so he could see my lyrical knowledge of the song.
“Okay, you know the song really well. Do you listen to country?”
“I do! I actually love this song, I was just using the lyric sheet, so I didn’t mess anything up.”
“Good, it’s always good to be prepared.”
After rehearsal, I was gathering my notebook and notes from the session when Louis came over.
“That song you were singing earlier. What was it?” he asked, making me freeze.
When I looked at him, shell-shocked, he smirked, which definitely didn’t help my case any.
“It’s an original, isn’t it?”
“Um. Yeah, just something I’ve been working on.”
“It sounds great so far. Keep me updated, love,” he said, walking out of the studio.
I was shocked for several reasons. One, he heard one of my songs, and liked it. Another, he wants me to keep him updated on how it comes.
After dinner, we decided to hang out together as a group in the wine cellar, which had a huge, comfortable couch and a huge TV. Elden went to bed the earliest, making claims of calling his wife. Dani turned it in as well not too long after with claims she was recovering from partying during those three weeks, which left Louis and me.
“Elizabella?” Louis asked, as my eyes were glued to the TV.
“Yeah?”
“Your song lyrics earlier, what were they about?”
“A bad time in my life. Marcus had just found me after a really bad night with my stepfather. There was a lot of blood, and if he had found me a minute later, I would have died.”
“So… Marcus, you talk about him a lot. Are you two?”
I immediately started laughing at the question.
“Trust me, he’s more interested in you than he is in me,” I said, making Louis’s cheek go bright pink.
“So, you’re single?”
“Never had time for a boyfriend, not that anybody wanted me anyways. I had to make one small bottle of shampoo and body wash last all year.”
Louis’s eyes widened.
“You weren’t allowed to shower?”
“I took a shower every two weeks. I don’t know what I’m gonna do when the show is over.”
Every minute that passes is a minute that the punishment gets worse when I get kicked off and have to return home.
“I might know somebody that can get you a job that will help you get on your feet. Can’t you live with Marcus and his parents?”
“I could, but their apartment is tiny, barely even big enough for the three of them, much less me.”
Louis nodded and looked like he was in deep thought.
“I could put you up in a small apartment and pay your down payment on everything and pay your rent until you don’t need me to.”
“Oh, Louis, I appreciate the offer, but I couldn’t. I would never be able to repay you.”
“Don’t worry about it. Trust me, I would rather pay for you that and know that you’re safe, then know that you aren’t safe and have more money than I know what to do with,” he said, making my eyes water.
I hugged him tightly, not really knowing what else to do.
“Thank you, Louis.”
“For what?”
“Caring. Nobody has ever really cared enough to do this much for me. I honestly don’t think I deserve it.”
“I’m sure Marcus cares.”
“He does. He’s tried since he found me to get somewhere else but hasn’t had any luck.”
Louis hugged me tighter.
“How about we not worry about it? How about we win this thing and show your mom and stepfather who is the real winner here?”
I smiled as I wiped my tears.
“Deal. Let’s do it.”
He smirked and shook my hand, before turning to walk out before stopping.
“Oh, by the way, don’t take any offer from Simon. I’ve got a judge’s position for a reason,” he said, winking at me.
He then walked out, and I stayed frozen.
Did Louis Tomlinson just offer me a record deal?
Notes
Hey, guys. How have you all been?
So, last time I updated, my sister had just found out she was having a little girl, and now that little girl is here. She is a beautiful little girl, and is a big snuggle bug.
I'm sorry for the wait, but right now me having a computer is far between. My dad's computer broke and goes to college online, so he needs my computer to graduate.
So, I'm sorry this update took me six months. I'll try to update sooner.
I love you all and hope you stick with me!
Wow, your days have been pretty eventful!! And so was the chapter. Loved it
