New Girl

Chapter One

It was 5:00 AM, and Iris, her mother, and her two brothers, one older and one younger, were driving to the airport. Iris' mother, Lauren, has been transferred to Manchester, England for her job representing as the new CEO for a famous Fashion Magazine, 'InStyle'. The fashion company was passed down to her by an old close friend of hers after learning that her friend, Trish, had passed and left the company to her written in her will.

Iris, watching the cars and traffic signs go by with her headphones in listening to Twenty One Pilots, sits in the passenger seat, her two brothers in the back seats play fighting while their mom pleads for them to stop because it's too much of a distraction.

Aidan was 19 and Brendan was 13. Iris was 17 going on 18 in a few months. She was going to be a senior in high school, Brendon was in his last year of middle school before going on to being a freshman in high school, and Aiden going into his first year of college.

Of course Brendan and Aidan were upset that they were leaving their friends and Aidan's girlfriend behind, but Iris didn't care that she was moving to a new place. She didn't really have much friends back in New York except one friend, Jackson, but even then, they weren't really friends. Jackson was just some guy she trained for fighting with and occasionally smoke with. That's it.

Ever since she was younger, when her dad was still around, she'd watch martial arts movies with her dad. She loved how cool it was how the people on tv were fighting and, she wanted to be just like them, you know, only for defense. She was always a daddy's girl.

When she was sick, she'd call for her dad. When she was having trouble with school, she'd call for her dad. When she needed someone to talk to, she'd call for her dad. She called her dad for everything, and he'd most likely be there for her because he loved his little girl.

Unfortunately, that all had to come to an end when Iris' mother caught him cheating and filed for a divorce. Iris was only 12 when he left, and she cried because that was her best friend. Since then, Iris has learned to have hatred for the man. She hated cheaters.

Iris was, you can say fit. She wasn't ugly that's for sure. She had a flat stomach, nice sized breast and enough ass to grab a big handful of. She had a curvy figure, you can say. She had these beautiful greenish grayish eyes and short dyed white-ish silver hair.

She had guys at her feet wanting to date her or just have a quick one night stand. She wasn't the type to sleep around, and she wasn't one for dating either, but she occasionally allowed herself to have some fun. Iris wasn't really one to get close with. She liked to be kept to herself.

In school, everyone never really had a problem with her except those few people that would hold grudges against her when they lost a fight with her, but Iris never cared. People would try to befriend her, but when they realized that she wasn't interested, they just left her alone. Simple as that.

Iris and her family pulled up to the airport getting their suitcases from the trunk of the black SUV and making their way inside. They dragged their bags up to airport security and took off all metal and put them in their separate baskets ready to be scanned through the x-ray while Iris and her family gets searched through the metal detector. Once they were done being searched, they were given their stuff back and allowed to put their things back in place. They grabbed their bags and started making their way to Gate 2A to wait for their flight to be called.

Iris sat on one of the hard uncomfortable chairs next to her brother, Aidan, while she waits.
She was tired and hungry but didn't want to say anything being too tired to get up or even just to talk. Brendon was on his phone playing Madden Mobile 2k16, and Aidan was scrolling through his twitter looking through the new trends.

"Look guys, I know you're upset that we're moving to a completely different country, but I think this will be good for us. We'll have a chance to live a better life and meet new people. This will be a great experience for us." Lauren, their mom, spoke.

Iris rolled her eyes and turned her music up not wanting to listen to what her mom had to say. She just didn't care.

When she found out they were moving, she didn't question it. She just rolled her eyes and stomped her way up the stairs to her room and slammed the door. She was pissed. She wasn't pissed that she was moving, she was pissed at the fact that she had to cancel her upcoming matches that she trained hard for.

"Flight 187 is now boarding. I repeat Flight 187 is now boarding" They announced over the intercom.

Lauren stood up and gathered her things getting ready for a long flight. Brendon and Aidan got up also gathering their the stuff. Aidan tapped on his sister's shoulder and told her to get her stuff together. She got up with a huff and straightened out her outfit.

For this flight, she wore a black sleeveless crop top and carrying black leather jacket in her arms, black skinny jeans, and black ankle boots to match her outfit. She had a natural pink lipstick on, winged eyeliner, and her hair was down into to her natural loose waves to complete her look. She had her nose pierced (her septum), and a expensive black watch on her wrist because she thought it would complete her outfit. She believed that if she were to go to a new place, she had to look good and leave an impression.

She grabbed her suitcase and made her way toward the line with her ticket and passport in her hand and her phone in the other, her family following after her.

One of the flight attendants asked to see their passports and their tickets to make sure they were allowed to board the plane. Once they got on the plane, Iris put her her bags in the plane compartment as well as her family and sat down in her seat.

Iris had a window seat and an empty seat next to her. Aidan and Brendan sat across from her 2 rows back with their mother sitting across from them in the aisle seat.

While they were waiting for the plane to finish boarding passengers, Iris put her headphones back in with low volume. She was playing Greenday, one of her favorite bands besides Twenty One Pilots and Nirvana. She didn't just like bands though. She also liked Lana Del Rey, Halsey and Melanie Martinez.

Iris was looking out the window watching the people board the plane when someone tapped on her shoulder. She looked over at the person and took out one of her headphones.

"Hey do you mind if I sit here?" He had an Irish accent.

She looked him up and down getting a good look at him. He had blonde hair with brown roots and blue eyes. He had a slight stubble on his chin and a smile on his face. He had straight teeth. Almost too straight like he had braces at one point in his life. A black leather jacket was covering his grey v-neck, and he had on black skinny jeans with white shoes to complete his outfit.

She shrugged her shoulders indicating that she didn't care and put her headphones back on. He thanked her and put his bag in the compartment above their seats and took a seat next to her.

"Hey, I'm Niall by the way." He held out his hand for Iris to shake. She just looked at his hand and looked up at his face with her eyebrow raised. She gave a 'Really Bitch' face, and he awkwardly put his hand down and rubbed the back of his neck. He cleared his throat and looked down at his phone instead.

When every passenger got comfortable in their seats, the flight attendant went up to the front of the plane and called for everyone's attention.

"Everyone, if I could have your attention please. Before we take off, we have to go over the safety of you all in case there's a crash. First, I'm going to should how to fasten your seat belts..." Iris ignored the speech and turned to look out the window watching sun rise up.

She admired the beauty of the sun when it rises and how all of nature just comes to life. She'd watch the sunrise when she stayed up at night until morning. She enjoyed those little moments of peace when the neighborhood was still sleep and when the birds are there to start the day. She just thought nature was beautiful and people either take its beauty for granted and destroy it, or they never stop to just take it all in.

The sound of the flight attendant's voice brought her back to reality, and she gave a silent grunt. This wasn't her first time being in a plane, so she was annoyed that she had to sit there and listen to the same stuff she already knew. It was annoying. She really just wanted the flight to take off already so that she could turn her phone back on to listen to her music and tune out everyone and everything.

"And, lastly, if there were to be a crash and we're heading for water, buckle up your seat belts quickly and grab an oxygen mask. It will help supply you with air to help you survive better. Always keep your seat belt buckled even when we hit water. It'll help you stay afloat and make it easier for refugees to see you. Alright I hope you have a good flight and remember to keep all electronics off until the plane is flying safely in the air." The flight attendant finished her safety procedures and made her way toward the back of the plane.

Everyone buckled up just like they were told to and waited for the flight to take off.
Niall was picking at his nails with a bored expression on his face, and Iris was staring out the window once the plane started to move.

Once they were in the air, Iris turned her phone back on and started to listen to her music once again. Niall turned his phone back on and scrolled through all his social media accounts laughing at something he saw on his phone every so often.

The entire flight consisted flight attendants walking up and down the aisles helping people with what they needed like food, drinks, or blankets. Iris slept through most the flight occasionally getting up to use the restroom. Other than that, the flight was boring. Niall on the other hand, watched three movies until he fell asleep for the rest the flight. One of the flight attendants came around at one point during the fourth hour of the flight and put blankets over both Iris and Niall.

The flight attendant went back up to the front and announced that they were about to land and to buckle their seat belts. Niall had woken up an hour before the announcement and decided to try to watch one more movie for landing. Niall tapped on Iris' shoulder and told her to wake up and that they were going to land. She only nodded and stretched her arms a little and let out a yawn before she buckled herself in.

Once the plane had landed, Niall unbuckled himself and got up to stretch his legs before he grabbed his bag from above them and followed the other passengers out of the plane. Iris did the same. When they got out of the plane, she went over to baggage claim to grab the rest of her bags and waited for her family to meet up with her.

"Hey, um, can I have your number?" Niall saw her standing there looking around, and he didn't want to leave her there without getting her number. He thought she was a cool girl even though he basically talked to himself the entire time, but he also found her attractive.

She looked at him and then turned back to look for her family. "No." She rejected him and looked through the crowds of people rushing to get out of the airport. She sighed and decided to just call her mother. As she was scrolling through her contacts, Niall just wouldn't stop talking to her.

"Look, just because I allowed you to sit next to me on the plane doesn't mean we're friends, so please just stop talking to me. Matter of fact, why are you still here?" Iris snapped at Niall annoyed at the fact that he wouldn't leave her alone and that she couldn't find her family. Niall stood there awkwardly looking anywhere but at her eyes.

"I'm, uh, waiting for my mom and brother." He rubbed the back of his neck and averted his eyes moving away to create distance between the two. Just as she was about to tell him to go wait somewhere else, her phone rang. It was her mom. She rolled her eyes and answered.

"Hey, Honey, where are you?" Her mother asked. Iris just crossed her arms as best as she could while still holding her phone up to her ear.

"I'm at baggage claim. Where are you?" She spoke with an annoyed tone to her voice.

"I told you to meet up with your brothers and I by the cab." Lauren sighed. She was tired and didn't feel like arguing with her daughter.

"No you didn't, and if you did, I obviously didn't hear it. You could've told me when I didn't have my headphones in." Iris snapped. She was tired and hungry and wanted nothing more than to get out of this airport and arrive at her new home so that she could settle in and get some sleep.

"Okay, well just meet us at the cab." Lauren responded in which Iris nodded her head even though she couldn't see her and hang up.
Iris grabbed her bags and started walking away to the cabs.

"Wait!" Niall ran after her before she could get any further. Iris stopped in her place and turned around waiting for Niall to catch up to her. "If I can't get your number, can I at least get your name?"

She sighed. "Iris." She then turned back around and made her way to the cab and found her mother and brothers waiting for her there.

Once she got closer to the cab, Aidan walked up to her and helped her put her bags in the trunk. After that, they both got in the cab and started going to their new home.
